Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (12 Viewers)

Mid way through Season 2 of The 100.  Current rankings:

1. The Wire

2. Sopranos

3. The 100

4. Mash

I thought this was going to be a chick show, but it's really a chick show with a whole lot of punches to the face.  It's like Gillmore Girls meets Sons of Anarchy meets Battlestar Gallactica.  HARD RECOMMEND.
I knew/thought I responded to a 100 post of yours earlier... found it one post above, but quote functions and all.

it gets really bad at some point, IIRC. but the first 2 seasons hold up pretty well.

omg... we watched an episode.. with squirrels. we started watching as more of a giggle, but couldn't shut it off. I could watch and listen to him all day- his like a tall, skinny q-tip headed buddha.
I am one of the 4 people in Oregon who still doesn't do dope, but this show HAS to have been bought by Netflix exclusively for folks who do.  It's entertaining enough for me while drinking.  The squirrel thing was unintentionally hilarious.

Almost done with S1 of Spotless.

Would definitely recommend and boobs and trimmed bush

Wrapped up S1.

Was a good entertaining show.
Some Dexter, mixed with Breaking Bad and the guy from the Hangover

Found myself liking several characters, no one seemed wasted.

Looking forward to S2.
Would def recommend

damn.

I powered through a few more episodes. the "5 movements" thing is pretty cringingly craptastic. didn't like that direction at all, but still enjoying it; your post doesn't give me a nice warm fuzzy though.
You're pot committed. Get to the end and let me know what you think.
yeah... wrapped it up. didn't mind it as much as you, even though the prayer for owen meany and signs (shamalamdingdong movie) fatalistic deus ex machina thing... yuck. and especially more of the 5 movements martha graham stuff... bleh.

but I liked the general direction and feel of the show, especially the character development (breakfast club on acid, is pretty apt) and relationships- felt like the writing and acting for the 5 current-time participants was decent. really liked the teacher's performance and writing for her. I'd watch a 2nd season for sure.

I actually liked that OA might simply be crazy and making all this #### up... even though her premonition and closing scene nde suggests otherwise.

that said- I was genuinely hoping the gunman was going to just lay those dancing fools out. would have been a fantastic ending.

dammit- I found myself rewatching the last episode of S2 last night. gossip girl meets judgement at nuremberg meets ... somethign where teenagers routinely commit mass-murder.

Just finished Season 1 and I'm in.  Surprisingly good show.  Of course, my favorites on Netflix are mind numbing guilty CW pleasures like Supernatural and Arrow.

Frozen Planet is great.

The landscape cinematography is one of the best things I've seen, ever. Lots of intense animal fight closeups too.

Updated Netflix/On-Demand with the Wife Series Ratings:

(perfect in every way)
Les Revenants
--------------------
("New Golden Age of TV" stuff)
Broadchurch
Peaky Blinders
Stranger Things
Happy Valley
---------------------
(low end of "good TV")
The Fall
--------------------
(watchable, but can't recommend)
Poldark

Still looking forward to The Americans and maybe Sherlock.  Any additional recs from people who liked the top-5 here?

Also have to circle back at some point for The Wire, Breaking Bad, Sopranos and Mad Men.  But those seem like a huge commitment.  We're doing quicker hits for now.

The Crown will go to the top of that list.

Eta.. and I'm a big fan of the returned.

Shows I've seen that you should watch if you haven't already:

Narcos (thought you had and obviously recommended here)
Marco Polo
Legends (now a season 2)...it's decent, not great
Crossing Lines (similar to Legends, it's ok)

New shows I've added to my list but haven't seen yet:

Medici
Fauda
Four Seasons in Havana
Marcella
The Last Kingdom

^ for whatever reason I thought Marco Polo was incredibly bad
It wasn't good.

But parts of it- epic scope and epic boobs- were fun.

Eta... Yeah, I wouldnt really recommend either marcopolo or legends. Both have positives, but enough negatives.
