Been watching this British comedy series on Netflix...I think there are six episodes called White Gold.  I typically don't dig British shows but kinda like this one so far.  Its about a salesman... Well there are three but the main character and then two others. The white gold being the plastic on the windows they are hawking.

Finally saw this one. Between this, Train to Busan, and a few others,  holy hell South Korea is churning out some brilliance.

Wailing rocking a 99% rt score. Long movie but worth every minute. The first 30 minutes or so were leaving me on the fence but as it continues it continues to drag you in. Brilliant movie. Man oh man seriously great film. The trailer.
Elaborate por favor?

Bojack Horseman returns Friday. I rewatched season 3 to get ready, and it was better than I remember...big laughs early on and some great introspection late.

Not quite the same genre, but just good entertaining movies:

Old Boy (that whole trilogy is good, check out the other two vengeance movies).

Snowpiercer (not South Korean but the director got his break there and it's how I found this movie. Director also did The Host, Mother, Memories of a murder, and Okja (which is another non South Korean movie and was released straight to Netflix).

The good, the bad the weird

I saw the devil

Chaser

Bedeviled

Yellow Sea

Thirst

Man from nowhere

3 extremes

1 Episode into the Wet Hot American Summer series. The only interesting thing so far is to see how different some of the cast has aged since the movie.
didn't see it mentioned, but a new "season" this came out as the reunion from 10 years later.  Still not something that I would definitely recommend, but thought it was much better than the First Day of Camp series.

Alyssa Milano looking good.

narcos season three is out brohans this psa brought to you by swc and the number 3 take that to the bank

Tried a few new Netflix comedies over the past week:

The Ranch: Ashton Kutcher show with Sam Eliott. We made it through the first episode and might give it another one eventually. A few chuckles but not great. Might get better as the storyline progresses.

Disjointed: We didn't even make it halfway through the first episode. Horrible with a really distracting laugh track (live audience?) Not buying Kathy Bates in the role.

Norseman: I really hoped for a lot more but will give it another episode at least. Decent production and what appears to be a very good cast. The writing was a little flat. I thought it might be a little more Python-ish but that's hard to expect. Hopefully it gets better because I like the setup.

I liked the first episode of Ozark, but just the first five minutes into the second episode I'm getting worried about the direction this is going to take.  If someone steals that money, I'm out and not looking back.  If that's what happens, could someone send me a PM and save me some time.  I want nothing to do with this series if that happens.

I'm not sure why that's such a major point for you but I just finished the show the other day and think it's worth looking past any minor issues you might have.

That's not a minor point.  If the show is going to become some second rate soap opera where half the time spent is tracking down where the money is because his two brain-dead kids can't do something as simple as watching a room, I want nothing to do with this.  There's plenty enough drama in a show where a slick fund guy has to find a way to launder money in some backwoods redneck town with the pressure of a drug kingpin looming in the background to keep my interest.

THAT SAID....with Kimmee from The Americans looking to be a potential thief, I'll give it a chance.  Seeing her as a potential partner for Bateman in some laundering scheme piques my interest.

Yeah, it's not about stolen money. And the girl from the Americans is a major part of the show. She's really good in her role.

anyone watch Ripper Street? Just burned through all the Peaky Blinders episodes and looking for my next show.
I remember giving it a shot because Bronn was in it, but IIRC I lasted like two episodes.

If you like shows like forensic files or making a murderer... The Confession Tapes seems pretty good. Watching episode 2 of 7.

It is a typical British period piece, enjoyable and lots of GoT actors pass thru.

Welll, WTF is the show about?  You're marketing for the show is pretty bad too.   And I know I know, my face is pretty bad too.
My marketing is the fact that I have exquisite taste and I'm telling you to watch it, jerkface.

But if you need a synopsis, two low-rent private eyes stumble on a bigtime case while trying to manage their relatively f###ed up personal lives. Hijinx ensue. The always awesome Donal Logue is the lead and his partner is pretty friggin great as well...and quite dreamy if you're into that sort of thing.

Loved that show. It had great potential but yeah, poorly marketed from the beginning.

it was pretty good show. i finished it once and came back to it for a second pass even. not sure it was worth a second go but it's a fun single season.

Ozark turned out to be a worthwhile watch.  It's got it's share of moments where you have to turn off your brain, but not so much that it detracts from the story.

I'd recommend it in spite of some really lazy writing at times.  The performances are all good, and none of the episodes seemed like filler.  Season ender surprised me.

Just ####### watch it

I found Atypical to be really good.  Not even a huge Rapaport fan but he was good as was JJL. The main character was as well. Jolly good show.

what happened to monday is seriously good like 34 swcs from the old swcer brohans take that to the bank bromigos

I know I'm probably repeating what other people have said, and I know this show isn't actually on Netflix, but I f^cking LOVE Rick and Morty.  Holy Chripes this is an awesome show.

I get lost in crime dramas. I'm watching Bordertown, a Finnish series made by Netflix. It's subtitled. I like it, but I do subtitles best in bed with a tablet and bt speaker, sort of right in my face reading with no distractions. It's located in Lapeenranta near the Russian border and St. Petersburg. It takes a few episodes for a crime to be solved then on to the next all the while developing a broader story about political corruption (I think). The lead actor portrays a borderline genius investigator. I'm at s1e9 with a hunch it's going to have an excellent dark finish. Good acting, decent story telling, compelling to get sucked into a different culture.

I'm watching 46 Yok Olan. It's Turkish. A wealthy middle aged doctor/chemist is trying to find a way to wake up his sister from a coma she fell into when their father was assassinated after a car accident. He's working with DMT, the crazy powerful hallucinogenic. He tests his various formulas on himself before dosing his sister and a bit a Jekyll and Hyde theme is emerging as he investigates his father's murder under the influence. S1e4, in for whatever but not so sure this one is gonna work for most.

I'm caught up on Shetland, Wallander, and Hinterland, all in various forms of English. Shetland is the 2nd slowest tv series I've enjoyed, really enjoyed. Hinterland is first. They're similar. BBC productions about crime far far away in desolate landscapes and isolated archipelagos. Hinterland was useful for curing insomnia until I became invested in the characters and setting/culture thing again. Shetland was never that slow, and I literally binged the last season so fast I wanted more. Wallander isn't Shakespeare but it's Branagh playing Wallander in a remake of the Swiss series based on the novels of some author who started all this. Not bad. These are all fairly equal in my mind.

I enjoyed River as much as any of these and wish they kept filming. Same with Broadchurch, which is a good jump better than the rest here.

Fortitude deserves it's own category though themes are the same. Crime drama, desolate landscape. But it's just wierd. Tucci gets season one. Dennis Quaid season two. A bunch of A-list euro actors and a bigger budget than most. It's definitely carried by Richard Dormer. I enjoyed it and was happy to see it end.

I've started and stopped as many or more than those listed here, so... they pass that test at least.

About to binge the latest Sherlocks which I have been putting off.

Totally agree on Wallander, River, and Broadchurch.  Happy Valley is another similar to those you might enjoy.  Also Occupied is a little different but set in Norway and about a scenario where Russia does a "friendly invasion" to ensure oil access.  Really interesting show that I think you would like based on what you wrote here.
