The White Lotus premiered last night on HBO Max and I thought it was pretty good, although I'm probably a little biased because my wife has worked in the hotel industry for her entire career.

A social satire set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort, the series follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate is paradise.  But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture perfect travelers, the hotel's cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself.

It's a 6-episode miniseries.
I just finished it. Highly recommend.

Has anybody watched 'The Paper Tigers'?  I watched it today.  Although it was terrible, I laughed and watched til the end.  Having taken martial arts some 25 years ago, I understood what the characters were going thru.  I couldn't imagine just stepping in and trying to fight young current students.

i know wrong thread but people are watching the show in here (avoiding spoilers) but..”No, i still want to #### you” :lmao: :lmao:
I have no idea how they can wrap everything up in only one more episode.

White Lotus certainly crescendoed there the last 2 episodes  :lmao:

So much good stuff. Every scene with Jennifer Coolidge kills me, as well as hotel manager and the ahole honeymooner (who has been hilarious throughout).

Anybody seeing this as a who-dunnit, who-dun-got-whacked? Wife thinks the opening scene lays out who's in the coffin, but I think it could be anybody.

I agree.  I told my wife last night that I don't think it's the person who they seemed to hint at in the opening scene - that's way too obvious.  There's got to be some kind of twist coming.  Can't wait for the finale next Sunday, lots of loose ends to tie up.  Hopefully we get a longer than normal episode.

Only 66 minute time slot on HBO.

Just finished both seasons of 'Black Summer' on Netflix

Very, very good

That's coming from a guy who thought he swore off all zombie shows after bailing a couple years on all of TWD crap that's undoubtedly still swirling around the bowl .
Just finished watching them both last week and enjoyed it too, although I did fast forward through a lot, like almost the entire episode when Spears travels with that guy that said he knew him. S2 ended really well so I'm in for another one. I like some of the circular storytelling they do at times and the cinematography is excellent.

Binging Fargo on Hulu. First two seasons just... who the what the hey. Really enjoyed. Season 3... waiting for it to compare.
season 1 =  :excited:
season 2 =
season 3 =
season 4 =  (except for Timothy Olyphant)
Pretty close to mine, although I think Season 2 was right up there with season 1..

Season 4, if not for having the name "Fargo" attached to it, would have made for a good stand alone show..
But as part of the Fargo series it was misplaced..
There was only one episode that I loved, it was the throw back to Wizard of Oz.. Other then that, skipable.

I keep forgetting to watch the new season- first two are great.
We are about halfway, or more, thru 1st season.  Really digging the characters, and their chemistry.....I find myself laughing out loud multiple times per episode.....usually when Sam is brutally honest......the mom is a bit much, but I guess that's kinda the point.....she annoyed me in fast times too

I am probably going to have to subscribe to Paramount+ so that my kids can watch the Paw Patrol Movie.

Is there anything else on there worth watching?

We just watched "The Detroiters," which streams on Paramount+ without commercials. It's super funny if you like "I Think You Should Leave" (Tim Robinson is in both). Only two seasons but we loved it.

I read that the next season of Ink Masters is moving exclusively to P+, so that would make it worth the subscription for me. I know it's a very niche audience for that show, but I've found several of my favorite artists from that show.

The Vault - Netflix - poor man's Ocean's 11, without all the fancy big name actors (Though Ser Davos has a starring role).  Spanish film, but in English.

Dragged in a couple of places, but fine entertainment, sequel set-up.

I think it has to be his Mom. No way Jake would be like that in the first episode if it wasn't. He's a narcissist with a Mommy complex.

But she's leaving in the morning...

Could really be anybody at this point- they've all developed relationships and have become entwined and crazy enough to have motive. Part of what's making it fun.

I'd say my opinion is the same as yours. Enjoyable flick, sets up a potential sequel. Not an award winning type of flick but definitely worth watching

That autistic doctor kid is wikkid smaht

It's only through 4 eps... more to come. Did you get access to the entire season or are you saying you're caught up with where it's at?
I finished that latest episode, 4, but I thought it was the end because I didn’t know the whole thing didn’t drop. It seemed like an odd ending. But then it ended and it went to a different show instead if saying “next episode”. I just wasn’t paying attention to the format. So now I’m just waiting for it to finish before I watch the next one.

I enjoyed this too.

Nothing earth shattering, the Euro feel is somewhat unique.

Obviously everyone knows, but Ted Lasso is one of the best (and most needed) shows in the history of television.  So inspiring and funny.

Also been watching the Expanse.  I'm on season four.  Its been decent.

The only one we are certain it's not is Shane I guess.

Do we know it's a murder? I didn't think that was clear from the first scene.

IIRC they said "someone was killed," so it technically doesn't need to be a murder. Wife loves this show. I think the acting is amazing but every scene has me so tense, it's like slowly watching people's lives simply implode on a minute by minute basis. I don't know if I'm enjoying it as much as enduring it.

"Our guide told us someone was killed there"

"The body's on our plane"

"Killed" implies murder to me, or at least death at the hands of another..manslaughter. "Someone died there" implies not murdered...accident, natural causes, suicide, etc.

Watching Halt and Catch Fire.  Why is this show not more popular?  Fantastic show.
not saying I agree with this, but it's a melodrama at heart- so maybe typical FF guys aren't as drawn in? But always talked about glowingly in here, only sporadically. Yeah, never seemed to hit critical mass- really solid show, big fan.

I'm only 1 episode in - but maybe the sharks killed someone?

jk - seems like it has to be the mother or the fiance, given the character at the airport.  (I know the mother is coming - that was in the trailers - but I don't know the dynamics between her and the fiancé - maybe one killed the other?)
