Latest Severance was nuts. Super schizo and pretty dark.

As for fear of this show going the way of Lost, I believe they stated already that they have a 3 season arch, which tells me they know exactly where it's all going, which I love to hear.

They’ve said they weren’t allowed to introduce anything unless they explained in advance they knew where it was going. I feel last night answered a lot of questions.

I've been completely enjoying Reacher S3- probably my favorite so far, with lots of good silliness and smack-downs.

the latest episode was kinda... meh.
Ep4 was pretty much all filler. We didn't really need to have the full back story on why he hates Quinn. Although there were a couple  in it. Sad to have to wait another week for any actual progress in the story.

Same. The new lady law enforcement actress is... not good. That accent is just brutal.
you're talking about the "boston" lady, right?

not Reacher's ex-assistant and distractingly terrible actress from this latest episode

I haven't seen it yet but I'm going go with yes on this

Surely there are hundreds of available American actresses who could have that role. Many with a Boston accent if that was important to them. Why hire a British person and have her butcher an accent? I don't understand why they would do that? She has a good agent? Has dirt on Ritchson? Doesn't make any sense to me that she would have been selected for this role.

Edit: I am still enjoying the season. She's just a distraction it does not need.

Sounds like I'm the only one not bothered by her accent.

Not the only one.

I have shows where there will be some nuanced distraction like this, I get it. Takes away from enjoying the show, kinda like fingernails on the blackboard but in the background.

Am I the only one that feels weird about that commercial with Jake from State Farm selling insurance to the Severance team? I get it, and in a strange way it's kind of clever. But it's like seeing that small indie band you love selling out.

I’m more like @zoonation than @Capella
The new episode is amazing and pulls back the curtain a little more on this weird world we’re lucky enough to be observing.
but to say that I understand more after last night’s episode would be a lie. My head is spinning (in the best possible way)

Well I don’t think they explained all of it or even a significant amount but they showed us what happens on the floor below along with the elevator that Irving is always drawing, and confirmed Ms. Casey is alive, remembers Mark and isn’t some weird clone or whatever.

And assuming Mark’s reintegration worked we should get some fireworks coming up soon.

Ah yes. 100% agreed. Gave insight for sure. Expanded scope. But left even more questions. I love this show!

SPOILER TAGS WOULD BE PRETTY NICE, GUYS.
I truthfully cannot ever get them to work but I’ll fix my post to where you have to scroll down. Sorry.

Thanks! And I try to scroll right past when I see anyone is talking about this season, but sometimes the way it gets laid out on the page means I see glimpses I don’t want to. I don’t really contribute to this thread much, so it might be better if I just avoid it until I watch.

Snow Angels (Snoanglar)
on MHz Choice

I'm 2 episodes into this 6-episode Swedish series about a missing child and I definitely want to see the rest. It's a pretty bleak picture of living conditions and human behavior. Will update when I finish it.
Finished the last 4 episodes, and I'll change my description to "series about missing children and adults", with "missing" being both literal and figurative. It's bleak, it's about flawed people trying to make the best of impossible situations and often failing, and it's always cold and blowing snow. Kids get lost. Good intentions turn into horrible events.
The good part is that it holds interest through all episodes, that there's a lot of silence in some scenes. Lead actress Josefin Asplund (Astrid in "Vikings") is fairly good as a wreck of a mom in a situation she can't handle, lead actor is better as a dad in an impossible situation, supporting performances range from decent to quite good (Eva Melander).

I really liked this one, but will wait a good long time before watching it again. It's a dark one.

The Traitors US
Not much went on.
Tom was murdered. They should have taken out Efron like I said last entry - he has more sway.

Seer ability is up for grabs post Roundtable

Roundtable went to 3-3 tie and re-vote for Faithful Ivar vs Traitor Danielle
Cliffhanger on whether Traitor on Traitor action happens.

Can somebody with Disney+ please check Hulu and see if Snowfall is still there?
I only get Hulu through the Disney+ app that came free with my spectrum Xuma box.

I was in the middle of season two and one day it's there, the next it's gone.

TIA

I've never really watched any hospital dramas and am enjoying The Pitt but damn if it doesn't creep into your head and dreams about having to go there some day in an emergency. Worse than a horror movie.

It's tough to do them on mobile. I wait to post on my desktop or laptop if I need to use them.
Oh that makes sense. I probably haven’t been on this site on a desktop since like 2008.
Yeah, it sucks - you have to turn the phone sideways to see the spoiler button, then you can't see enough to use it.

it's actually pretty easy. Press 3 dots net to smiley then press the eye ball with a line in it ....or type bracket spoiler bracket your text bracket /spoiler bracket

Just started Underbelly, a series about different crime gangsters in Australia. 6 seasons (some places say 7) of 45-minute episodes, with each season about a different particular timeframe and gangsters. It should be called "Violence and Sex in Australia" or "Testosterone Amok, Mate". There's a lot of fast loud music soundtracks in each episode which is annoying but the stories move along and action always ensues. Nothing deep at all going on, no plot to figure out on your own, just copes ineffectively trying to arrest gangsters who kill the hell out of people.
on Tubi and Roku now, I think

Started paradise on Hulu and it’s really good 3 episodes in IMO.
I've liked it too, up to latest release.

I keep side-eyeing it, waiting for some issues, but the writing has kept ahead of the things I've been anticipating and the acting and overall storyline have kept it interesting. Tbh, I'm still feeling like the other shoe is going to drop soon into the realm of silly tv, but so far not yet
My Hulu sub ends at the end of the month. Last episode comes out first week of March. :cautious:
Update: got a "card not present" alert email last night. Guess I actually forgot to cancel Hulu so I now have it until the end of March. We are in (for) Paradise!
Started watching Veep with my wife. Not sure we'll stick with it.
And we are out on Veep. Just not our thing.

Slow weekend in the Woz household so we got caught up on Severance. Episode 7 was definitely good and the season has been quite the watch. Unless I missed some things with episode 7, the plot seemed generally clear:

Gemma, for reasons we probably do not know yet, has basically been taken as Lumon's lab rat - probably after she initially volunteered for something different to take her mind off the loss of her miscarriage - and there is some ultimate plan for her to reunite with a particular innie form with Mark S. in the Cold Harbor room. Apparently this occurs once Mark hits 100% on his seemingly meaningless data mining exercises. Gemma also shows up that somebody can have multiple innies because she appears to have a different innie for each room of torture and the innie Mark S. meets is only one of several.

What's funny though is that I watched Severance episodes 6 and 7 sandwiched between watching the latter half of the first season of The Wire (on probably 6th re-watch). The Wire is still 10x better and this only solidifies my position that it's clearly the best TV show ever and will likely never be topped. Severance is fantastic, but The Wire remains on a whole other higher tier.

Agreed, the wire is definitely the #1 most boring show in the history of television :gang1:

This calls into question everything you've ever posted here in the history of ever.
