Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (15 Viewers)

Just finished all 4 seasons of The Sinner and to me that's a pretty damn good show. Bill Pullman is probably the most internally-tortured detective I've seen (except maybe Kari Sorjonen in Bordertown) and does an excellent job. There are 4 seasons, each with a murder to solve, each season self-contained.
Season 1 starts with an incredible opening episode, just a shocking murder in front of a crowd by an average everyday person, and then spends the rest of the season unraveling why it happened. Co-stars Jessica Biel who's quite beautiful but whose acting ability is quite vacant. But the story line and shock of the first episode carry the season.
Season 2 co-stars Carrie Coon, and she's pretty damn ferocious in some scenes and carries the season, which is about a child murderer.
Season 3 is kind of a mess, with the main redeeming quality being Jessica Hecht who I like looking at and whose accent I enjoy listening to.
Season 4 co-stars Alice Kremelberg and is the most compelling season of the 4.
Pullman (as Harry Ambrose) is just a wreck of a man who continues falling apart through the series and who solves murders no one else cares to. Very good series.
I'd rate the seasons as follows
Season 4
Season 1
Season 2
.
.
Season 3
This was one of my top 70 shows from scores’ top 300.

I just found this little sitcom. Bob hearts abishola. It’s on max. It’s very cute. Laugh track annoying.
Have you watched Mike & Molly?
We watch it reruns. I think it’s actually kinda funny, I know people like to hate on it though
Yeah I think there are some really funny episodes of Mike and Molly

The supporting cast is pretty good

Vince always cracks me up, so does Nana

There are always a couple lines in each episode that I can't believe they said that. The episode with Vince stuck in the tub is hilarious. The show could have kept going , but Melissa McCarthy wanted to do movies.

5th episode of Mobland. Picking up some steam though I'm not sure of Helen's character. A bit over the top for me.

I haven't seen ep 5 yet but share similar thoughts. The past few episodes have been choppy and a bit of a snooze. My only hope is Helen gets her wish and we see Bronson go full ******.

Yeah, it hasn't been great but I assume after the newest episode, things will really pick up. Even though what happened was kinda dumb.

It's a shame because Ep 1 and parts of 2 felt like a Guy Ritchie movie then it kind of just fell off into a state of meh.

I believe Guy directed the first episode.

Ah, that makes sense then. I thought he was directing every episode.

The Rehearsal is absolute genius.
I tried explaining this show to my wife the other day and just had to stop because I had no idea how to describe it. So crazy and unique.
I saw a preview for this show before an episode of the Pitt. Has a high RT score but those that don’t like it, really don’t like it (I suppose that’s not all that unique.). I may try watching an episode or two to see if it’s my jam.

Give it a couple episodes. It just gets exponentially weirder as it goes on.

I would imagine it's definitely a love it or hate it type show.

Havoc on Netflix takes a while to get going, but in the third act there's plenty of punch punch pew pew. I give it a C, a bouncy C.

Also - Tom Hardy is giving it his all here. It's almost like he thinks he's in an actual movie, not some direct to Tubi cops and robbers show.

Finished Bosch: Legacy (S3 on Prime)
I have posted a few times how the girl that plays his daughter ruined the series for me.
On the plus side, she wasn't highlighted as much this season as she was last season, but yikes, still....any scene she is in was just unwatchable.
This last and final season could have been so much better. Loved the way it started and then it just went in three different directions.
Then, they wrapped up all the story lines by Episode 7, and in Episode 8, they brought back an old story line, introduced a new main character, and in a single 45-minute episode, it was all neatly wrapped up. Their production meetings had to have been a nightmare!
Season 3 was ok. Can't recommend anyone spend time watching it if you keep a busy schedule. However, if you have nothing else to live for, it's still mildly entertaining awful.

Still holding out hope there will be a J. Edgar spinoff.
I had to stop E1 S3 in the middle because that daughter was just killing me. I'll revisit at some point because I'm a completist, but damn she's awful.

It's like this movie told John Wick ... hold my beer

I like how it looked like a frogger video game for all the chase scenes.

Not really a *SHOW* but I'm curious if anybody has watched Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain?

My son is heading to Valencia after he graduates UO to teach English. He spent a semester there last year and loves it. Really happy for him and want to visit once he's set up. Hoping Eva's show gives me some inspiration, suggestions and of course, some jumpy&quo.

Hope you like Paella. I cant remember is he goes to Valencia specifically, but in terms of watching a show and immediately wanting to travel somewhere, Somebody Feed Phil takes the cake for me. But we love travel for the food mostly. We visited spots he did when we visited Barcelona and were not disappointed in the slightest.

As a matter of fact, I DO!

Thanks for the rec!

Really enjoying S2 of The Rehearsal on HBO. Nathan Fielder is awesome. Odd...but awesome.
This is some of the most thoughtful and INTELLIGENT comedy you're likely to find anywhere, from any time period

Fielder cracks me up. The long pause hilarity and cringe is off the charts. I definitely need to check out The Rehearsal. I even enjoyed that one he did on Showtime about the yuppies building homes in New Mexico.

Just make sure they don't go to the White Lotus resort. I heard bad things happen at those places.

Tried Rehearsal last night got maybe 5 min into episode 1 and wife tapped out

We’re watching Long Bright River instead on peacock. It kinda sucks
the lead does some eyeroll-ish things, but i enjoyed LBR all the way through
I enjoyed LBR, I'm never opposed to watching Amanda Seyfried on the tube. I also didn't realize it's based off a novel that is roughly based on the author's own life.

Mrs. Yambag and I are big fans. We have gone to many places he has visited in Italy and Iceland, all have been fantastic.

New Competition show for the cerebral - UK ITV
Based upon the original South Korean show.

Genius Game - not a great trailer, they should have shown the 'invite to play' puzzle box opening - much more interesting/intriguing.

The show pits eleven contestants against each other as they compete in various challenges, known as matches, which test their strategic thinking and social skills. Contestants are eliminated in head-to-head matches until only one remains and is awarded the title of "the Genius" and a cash prize.

Who's the smartest person in the room? (me, duh!)

Started watching The Empress on Netflix.

Really solid so far. 3 episodes in and really enjoying it. I've avoided reading the history on this and don't remember the specifics, so that also helps.

Watched Roy Kent's comedy special on HBO last night, Brett Goldstein - the 2nd Best Night of Your Life. Was surprised to see it pop up when I hopped on MAX so gave it a go. Was funny, not exactly ROTFLMAO funny but funny. Worth a watch, shows you a side of Roy you aren't accustomed to if you only know him from Ted Lasso.
I want to check this out. I had forgotten I first saw Goldstein in Ricky Gervais' series "Derek".
I didn't like his character in the current season of Shrinking. In fact I thought the current season was much weaker than Season 1.
