I'll worry about peaking if I make it to the finals. For now, as long as I keep on keeping on, I'll be happy. :D

IN! Dangerously thin at WR and too much reliance on LT2, but what are you gonna do...

Contest was fun and the format was good. Good luck to all going forward!! :bye:

I find it amazing that Tomlinson is so much more valuable than anyone else in this competition. I mean - it's not surprising that a lot of his teams are still around. But given his cost of $71, I wouldn't have thought he'd turn out to be the consensus best value pick out there since presumably picking him forces you to compromise elsewhere. But I guess he's come on extremely strong right when some of the tougher cuts have taken place, and that's why he's turned out to be such a great pick.

For me, Galloway came through with just enough last night, and I survived. Good news is he plays the Redskins next week, and having watched the Redskins every week, he's almost certain to get open for a deep score at some point.

True, but a bad week in the next couple of weeks will probably eliminate a lot of his owners. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Then it best be at Denver next week! Home vs Oakland looks ok for him (131/1 at their place this year) and after that it will be a moot point.

Agreed. I'll be pulling for the "Orange Crush" to show up and stuff LT....forcing Philip Rivers to throw for 400 yards and 4 TDs.

Son of a gun. I didn't realize until I saw this post that BroadwayG = my MOX VII leaguemate. I've been keeping track of how well your team has been doing each week. It's good to know who you are on this board.BTW, I'm also in at 145.2

LaDainian Tomlinson, RB SDNews: After the Chargers surprised the Bengals after being down 21 points in the first half, it's time for an AFC West showdown at Denver, where the Chargers hardly ever win. Perhaps one reason why is because RB LaDainian Tomlinson hasn't played particularly well in Denver. He's never had a 100-yard game in five visits to Denver, and his top performance was 75 yards as a rookie in 2001. Not surprisingly, the Chargers lost all five times. "That has been the biggest factor,"

In at 140.4. Not expecting to be around much longer with Toomer, Glenn, Williamson and Jennings in my WR corps...especially if Houshmanzedah misses times after his concussion. Oh well, I'll worry about that Sunday!

:excited: :pickle:

Thank you Keyshawn!! Closest I've been to the cut since like week 4 where I made it by .2 (And got my only useful peformance from Norwood to save my entry)

Still in the fight!!!

LT needs to take that game off and rest. Let Turner rush for 200 and 3 TD!! :D

I missed the cut by 0.1 points. To top it off, Rivers was my high scorer at QB. He ended up with 2 rushing yards after taking a knee each of the last 2 plays of the game and losing 1 yard each time. Those 2 yards lost prevented me from advancing for another week.

Looking forward to next year, good luck to everyone still left.

In, and optimistic with:

Roethlisberger

Delhomme

Rivers

K. Jones

Gore

Bush

Maroney

Dillon

Evans

Muhammad

Bruce

Bryant

C. Henry

McCardell

Williamson

Shockey

Witten

Kaeding

Elam

Chargers

Giants

The stud TE combo has been HUGE for the past few weeks and is really separating my team from the pack. I've also been fortunate enough to get big some games at the right time. I needed a nice performance from Muhammad Sunday night and he delivered a gem.

I'm a little thin at WR, but my team is rock solid across the board. With the possible exception of Troy Williamson, every one of these guys has a realistic chance to put up a good game each week.

The next two cuts will be brutal. I'm hoping my depth will carry me through.

Brutal, dude, just brutal. Congrats on making it to the top 1/6 of entries though!-QG

Wow only 8% of the people left have LT2? And I'm one of the lucky 48.4% to have survived with him on my roster. :pickle: :) -QG
Make that 24% of the people left have LT2...and I'm one of the lucky 31.9% to have survived with him on my roster. Amazing what a few weeks will do, eh? ;) -QG

You're all gonna be eliminated this week when Denver shuts him down. :boxing:

Here's another edition of my semi-irregular breakdown of the top-10 vs. Bubble boys over the course of the contest.

Week 1 (no bubble): 3 out of the top 10 are still in the contest (the 1st place entry has been eliminated)

Week 2: 3 out of the top 11 are still in. Only 1 out of the 19 bubble entries are still in.

Week 3: 6 out of the top 10 are still in. 2 out of the 11 bubble entries are still in.

Week 4: Only 1 out of the top 10 are still in (First place one) , 3 out of the 9 bubble entries are still in. As an aside, this was my near-miss week and I'm one of 6 out of the 29 entries that finished within .2 of the bubble still alive.

Week 5: Only 1 out of the top 10 are still in (1st place is out) while 2 of the 14 on the bubble are still in it.

Week 6: 6 out of the top 10 are still in. 4 out of the 12 bubble folks are still in it.

Week 7: 3 out of the top 10 are still in it. 4 out the 10 bubble (and bubble + .1) entries are still in it.

Week 8: 9 out of the top 11 are still in it. 3 out of the 9 bubble (and bubble +.1) entries are still in it)

Week 9: 8 out of the top 10 are still in it. 6 out of the 14 bubble (and bubble + .1) entries are still alive).

Seems that some of the true contenders are starting to rise to the top of the ranks more regularly.

:boxing:
Naah, this is where Duckett steps up and saves the day for me :) -QG

This will be my last week in it. My receivers are going to kill me - Toomer, Stokely, Mike Williams, now Housh isn't looking too good this week. That leaves me with Harrison, Samie Parker, and Doug Gabriel.

Missed the cut by 4 :(

My wideouts have been killing me...

I'll show my LT2 roster if somebody tells me the code for keeping the thing straight.
Just copy/paste it, then put "["code"]" at the beginning and "["/code"]" at the end (don't include the quotation marks - I used them so the coding wouldn't happen in my post)
Thanks Couch

I would have barely made it without LT.

I would have barely made it without LT.
So that team is yours. It's the team I posted about back in post #2581 on 11/8. There I said "Here's one of the better remaining teams I've seen (not mine). Six weeks of 162 or over, never below 129.5, healthy except for Berrian, strong McNabb/Vick combo, LT & FWP, and outproducing everyone at PK and DT"

Wow. I've read every post in this thread, but didn't make the connection with your post. Thanks, and I hope your right. Big advantage being a Bears homer (imagine that) this year. I felt very good that Berrian was going to break out at the end of last year. During the Carolina playoff game last year one of the announcers asked “When did Bernard Berrian become Jerry Rice?” I answered to the TV at the time “Oh, about 4 weeks ago.” (or something to that effect.) (NO I don’t think he’s Jerry Rice but the point was that he was emerging as a legit WR stud.) And after Gould being such a ho-hum kicker last year I was amazed, along with the Bears brass themselves I believe, how he had worked in the off season and was just booming the ball in camp. I still want to ask "Who are you and what did you do with the real Robbie Gould? That guy is a bona fide stud kicker, and has been....well....gold for me.

I thought I made the cut by .1, but the CIN fumble recovery must have been on special teams and so they were a 3 and not a 5. I'm out by 1.9 points in week 10.

Good luck to the remaining 1500

I didn't really think I had that great of a roster - and I still don't. I've been sneaking by each week, getting lucky with a player's good week here or there (thank you Palmer for last week.) But I think this is the end of the line for the Chicago Shiner Monkeys. Watson/Troupe haven't worked out as planned; the same for Elam (what's up there?!?) Mia/Nep are pretty sad and with Glenn and Houzy possibly out.... uh.... not good. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for all the fun figures, Doug, it really livens up the contest :)

Don't know how much of a pain this is the way you've got things set up, but I'd be curious what the highest and lowest average scores are for the remaining 1501 entries are, to give some sense of how we all stack up should we be lucky enough to get through the last couple rounds.

Thanks again for your hard work :) :banned:

Let me first state that the rules are clear and the posted results are final. It just kind of stinks that the NFL doesn't handle this stuff in a timely manner as it would have impacted the cut line and numerous scored. Well it gives some people a reason to :ptts:

I was real close in week 8, but figured I would post my team now that I am still around. Steve Smith is the wildcard with my team.

/sighoh well, I'll be back next year...

So, LT owners, are you a little nervous going into this weekend?
me not being an LT owner makes me more nervous. why in the world would anyone be nervous having a point machine like LT? i know the obvious answer is Denvers defense, but hell, if i could change one thing about my team, i would takie LT in a heartbeat against any defense, and would feel pretty good about my chances.congrats to the owners ignoring the high price tag for LT and reaping the benifits now. makes me question my own strategy. good luck to all this weekend.

I'm really hoping for a down week by LT this weekend. Shake off a couple hundred teams that have been carried by him for over a month now. :football:
