I just realized something. Wasn't one of Driver's receptions mistakenly credited to Green? And wasn't that a 7 yard pass? If corrected, that would give me 157.8 and I would make the cut. Why is FBGs so quick to post final results before any corrections can be made to the Monday night stats? Doug?

CrossEyed, We are not going to change the scoring even if the NFL later changes the scoring. We made that decision before we started this contest, because Elias is constantly tweaking the numbers. Sometimes the day after, sometimes weeks later, etc. I am sorry this has impacted your team, but we feel it is imperative to stay within the rules since other teams have already had this rule against them (most notably when the Buckhalter offensive recovery TD was later determined to be a pass giving McNabb more points) Here is the stated rule:All scoring is determined final when posted regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Weekly results will be published on Tuesday morning following the completion of all games.

Better indication of strength might be to add up all players each week and avg, but I don't see myself jacking with that. We'll see when we see...

I'm still alive - but probably among the lower averages of those still remaining, I'm averaging 141.7. I've been within 2 points of the cut 3 times.

Unless guys on my squad like Vick, Rudi Johnson and Galloway who aren't owned by too many other people step up big time in the next 4 weeks - my upside is probably to make the money in the top 200.

I agree with the rules as they are presently stated. If you delay it all, you open up a Pandora's Box of when stats are adjusted Where is the cutoff? 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days, 5 weeks?? etc etc Keep the rules next year as they are presently set.

Pretty low average here, 140.09. But, I originally hoped to build up as the season drew to an end--thanks DD--so the last few weeks I've been doing increasingly better. Of course, since a lot of us have averages between 140-150, and survived a cut at almost 160, we probably all are peaking at the right time.

Unfortunately I'm down to only 5 producing WRs at the moment, Troy Williamson is down on the depth charts and my hopes for a late-season surge from Stokley seem dashed at the moment. Going to have to rely on Glenn, Roy Williams, Wayne, Mark Clayton and occasionally Curry to carry me the rest of the way.

that's actually how I calculated it to save time.Question - Are the factors multiplicative? For example, does CDR(1-to-12) = CDR(1-to-7) * CDR (7-to-12)? (I've been assuming they are.)

i'm not sure if i should be worried because i don't own gore or parker (to go along with my LT) or be happy because i'm different than many and therefore have a good chance if both of those guys go down the tubes at the end of the season.....

Right now, I think it's impossible to assess the impact of any single player (or group of 2-3 players). Certainly, I'd love to have LT2 on my roster, but I've got FWP, Gore, J. Lewis, Maroney, and D. Williams, so I'm happy with the strength and depth of my RB corps (although not so confident with my 2 remaining QBs).Four weeks from now, someone could tabulate player rankings (like Who's Hot) over the 4-week period. Most likely, the winning roster will contain most of the players at the tops of the positional rankings. Will LT2 dominate like he has over the past 6-7 weeks? Somehow, I doubt it -- at least I think there will be other RBs who will be closer to him. And it's possible (likely?) that someone different (LJ, SA, Peyton, Palmer?) may emerge and dominate the next 4 weeks.

It's kind of surprising that 9 of the top 30 scorers (in Weeks 1-10) didn't survive to the end of Week 12. OTOH, 21 (70%) did survive when the field was narrowed from 1,500 to 500. So the survival rate overall was 33%, compared to 70% for the high scorers.Unfortunately, although I survived with an average score slightly above 146 (and was always at least 8.5 pts above the cutoff), I know the rosters of most of the surviving high scorers above look significantly stronger than mine right now. My main hope is that a couple of my least-owned players get very hot over the next 4 weeks, along with strong performances throughout the roster.

I'm at 146.6

1797.2 / 12 = 149.7666666666Unfortunately teams like mine were built to get here but now have very little chance of rising to the top without an unexpected fantasy point explosion from guys who aren't widely owned. I will need a miracle from guys like Roethlisberger (1.4%), C.Taylor (7.0%), I.Bruce (11.0%), C.Henry(10.4%), K.Johnson (9.6%) to have any chance of finishing in the money.

I do think my team will still be respectable from here on out, but I fear it has no chance to distinguish itself because of too many commonly held players (Manning, Gore, Parker, Rudi, Glenn, L.Evans, Watson, & the Miami D) and no LT2

There are simply too many LT owners left IMO. If you own LT or LJ plus the right combination of widely owned bargain players then there is no way for teams like mine to keep up. Barring injury, I will be shocked if the grand prize isn't awarded to an LT2 or LJ owner.

Congratulations and good luck to the rest of the final "501". It's been a lot of fun just getting here, and lately I've been more interested in tracking the players I 'own' in this contest and see how they are doing than the players in my money leagues who are vying for playoff spots.

Thankyou to Footballguys and especially to Joe and David for including this contest with the price of subscription. I hope you keep this format next year - I really missed it in 2005 and appreciate that you brought it back for 2006.

I'm at 16 on that list, and I love all the explosiveness my team has, but I think my QBs (Favre,Delhomme,Lefty) could leave me a bit short. Good luck everyone.

I also had some down weeks during the bye weeks and week 1 (wk 1 doesn't really count in the road to 500 because no cuts were made).

12 week total of 1751.2 or a 145.9333 average (now 0).

Week 2-12 total of 1633.3 or a 148.4818 average (now still 0)

But as most of us in the final 500 my team did consitently well the last 5 weeks. Putting up 4 of my 5 170+ weeks. I never had a week over 180 points, and no weeks under 110 points, consistently within a 70 point range. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

Also been carrying some useless baggage all season- Simms, Burleson, Scheffler.

On the flip side besides Simms (Henry suspension) no real loss of time do to injury (knock on wood).

Sad to say, I'll be from the 501 as the Turk finally got me.

But it was a great run all the same and a whole lot of fun - and really that's cuz of all the fun posters on this board and the numbers geeks who had more time than this numbers geek to pull out some interesting stuff.

Congrats to the Turk in particular for all his hard work! Training camp's over now and you 501 have made the team - go get 'em! To the other 500 who fell short like me, well done also!

Question - Are the factors multiplicative? For example, does CDR(1-to-12) = CDR(1-to-7) * CDR (7-to-12)? (I've been assuming they are.)

I don't think so. CDR(12) takes into account all twelve weeks, not just the 12th week. You'd need a new stat to calculate the change in CDR from week to week.

got 'em on my work PC but I'm gonna be on the road until late tonight (stopped home 4 a sec to get some stuff). If the hotel has internet hookups I'll post the new standings. For what its worth, Downing is out, and Karlovic is the new leader if my memory is correct.

Man, I'm kicking myself even more. If I had taken Gore over Bush and simply blew off the $12 (i.e. just used $238) the only change to my results would be that I'd have gotten 13.1 more points this week.

Naturally I missed out by 13.0
