Averaging 153.1. My team has been pretty consistent (163 last 5), never really had to sweat out a cut, but never anything crazy either. I did hit a 190.1 in Week 11, though. Should be interesting. Thanks to FBG -- it's been a great ride thus far!

Question - Are the factors multiplicative? For example, does CDR(1-to-12) = CDR(1-to-7) * CDR (7-to-12)? (I've been assuming they are.)

I don't think so. CDR(12) takes into account all twelve weeks, not just the 12th week. You'd need a new stat to calculate the change in CDR from week to week.

Just saw this -- you may be right, abrecher. This approach gave such nice intuitive results for the 2 time periods (Weeks 1-7 and Weeks 8-12), I’d be disappointed if the formulas didn’t work out – but they may not.

As of the end of Week 7, QB McNabb, RB Kevin Jones, WR Roy Williams, TE LJ Smith, and Minnesota DST had the highest CDR ratios by far and presumably were the biggest contributors to their owners surviving through the 1st 7 weeks of the contest.But things changed substantially in Weeks 8 through 12. Roy Williams had a slight positive impact, but McNabb, Kevin Jones, and LJ Smith had a negative influence on survivorship.Obviously, Tomlinson had the biggest impact, by a large margin, for rosters surviving during Weeks 8 to 12. At the end of Week 7, LT2 was on 432 (10.8%) of the 4,000 rosters that were still alive. At the end of Week 12, about 188 (37.5%) of the final 500 rosters had LT2. Almost 50% of rosters with LT2 survived from Week 7 to Week 12, whereas all live rosters dropped from 4,000 to 500. Of all possible factors, the strongest factor for surviving from Week 7 to Week 12 was having LT2. However, more than 50% of rosters having LT2 in Week 7 did not survive to Week 12, and 62.5% of surviving rosters did not have LT2.From Weeks 1 to 7, the strongest roster would have contained:QB - McNabb, Kitna, VickRB – K. If my calculations are right, and don't count on it as I've usually been off...my average score for the 12 previous weeks would be 153.55...erase it, forget it, turn the page, we are all starting out at -zero- points...

considering all the luck that's involved in getting to the final cut, It's like a blessing to have made it here, I wish the best of luck to the other 500 participants, I think we might be in for a wild ride the next 4 weeks, may the best team win.....

I survived with a 132.97 average. I popped 117.1 twice and 118.3 once along the way...my best two weeks have been the last two.....

I don't think my team is good enough to win, but this being my first year in this, picking my team in about 5 minutes.....I think I did ok to make the final cut.

I averaged 146 based on all 12 weeks and 177.8 the last three.

The factors *are* multiplicative. CDR is just a ratio, (a/b). Multiplying CDRs from successive weeks a-to-b, b-to-c, and c-to-d you get (a/b)*(b/c)*(c/d) where the b's and c's cancel out (fractions people, fractions!), ending up with (a/d). (where 'a' is implied to be [np(a,k)/n(a)].)Charley's post, quoted below, which goes in to more detail, is correct.Also Charley or Doug Drinen -- it would be fun to post a page with script that allows users to select a player, a start week, and an end week to see for themselves how players helped or hurt them in terms of CDR. I can write the script if you like -- I'm sure you could too of course, but I can imagine how busy you are -- but I would need the raw data too to implement it.

Funny my second best week was week 3 with 174 points. That was the week I was without LJ because KC was on a bye.I had a 167.76 average the last 3 weeks.

Funny my second best week was week 3 with 174 points. That was the week I was without LJ because KC was on a bye.I had a 167.76 average the last 3 weeks.

As I posted...I had a 132.97 average for the season....but the last 3 weeks averaged a much more respectable 168.40...that has me feeling a little bit better about my chances...

Nope. Read it again: it's not a/b * b/c * c/d , it's a/x * b/x * c/x, which doesn't give any useful number. (x = NP/N)

ps I haven't looked at Charley's revisions, but I think it would be a lot easier if you defined a Weekly Concentration/Dilution Rate as:

WCDR(i) = CDR(i)/CDR(i-1)

This should give you the multiplicative figure you're looking for.

week 5 my lowest @ 121 (cut = 102)

week 8 my highest @ 211.6 (cut = 121.5)

i still have all 3 of my QB, LT and good RB depth and great WR depth...let's just hope not owning gore or FWP is enough to set me apart and win.

closest to the cut line was week 5, when I made it by 11.3, so I'd say I've been pretty consistent overall.

Total average is still 146.88 for 12 weeks, but like we've all said, it resets to zero. good luck to my fellow 500!

Don't want to beat a dead horse --But check the stuff above -- the denominator was changed to be flexible and correspond to a user-designated "start week" (rather than always being Week 1 and NP/N).Not sure, but I think this may be the same as (or equivalent to) what you're suggesting?

Thanks much for verifying. Seems like abrecher isn't convinced, yet.Also, when I computed the CDR(7,12,k)'s and compared them to the CDR(7,11,k)'s from the week before, I noticed that multi-week CDRs seemed to be very sensitive to the results for the final week of the multi-week period. Not sure exactly why that happens, or if I just noticed a couple random changes for players that had the highest CDR's?

I'm NOT going to individually click through everyone's team just to get their week 1 total. I may still do that to gather the rosters since that has some value, but we have enough other historical data to ignore the week 1 data without too much worry.

Sadly, I think you may be on to something. and I'd also say your odds to win are inversely proportional to the number of posts you have, I therefore am the longshot! And by my tally sheet, it's pretty safe to say I my have about the lowest liklihood of all of us to win. Back at home now tonight, I'll finally be able to post my findings for the final group. After the kids are in bed I'll get things posted...

This will only affect Quarterback scoring, but I like it. This contest has been one of the coolest "leagues" in which I've ever participated. I have paid more attention to the results of this contest than I have done for my main Fantasy League (tied for 1st). To have personally scored among the top 2% of entrants is almost unfathomable. Worth the FBG subscription cost even before considering there's potential $$ attached to it.

The running commentary and discussion in this thread has been outstanding. From pre-season to the week before the final turk, the posts have been insightful and entertaining. Drinen's stats have driven some fabulous discussions. The prelim cut line is the single-most awaited post of the week. The effort made by guys like ctriopelle to provide additional stats and statistical insight have only added to the drama and excitement of this contest.

I missed the playoffs in my main league, despite sitting at #3 in scoring, so this contest is all I've got left! It's been great following it more and more over the weeks, getting my hopes up with the release each week's contest results.
