Currently 5 points under the cut line thanks to another sterling Jeremy Hill outing and Gronk being mortal.

Need big scores out of Woodhead and/or Antonio

Advance pretty easily despite no Olsen, 5 WRs on bye/hurt, and CJ counting for the 3rd week this year.

Done at 130.85. And I do mean done, because although I might survive the cut this week, the Charles injury dooms my entry to failure. He represents 12.4% of my salary cap; along with Romo's 6.8%, that is just too much dead weight to carry through the bye weeks.

Just saw Julio's TD added and I should be safe with 147 + whatever Wheaton gets Monday night.

I will be using CMike's 0.6 pts thanks to Daniels' zero.

ETA - that now means that CMike has contributed more points than Ben Roethlisberger.

Ugh... my team had major fail at QB, RB, TE, PK, and D.... Unless Ladarius Green puts on a 3 TD, 10+ catch night.... Not looking good for advancement.

So basically, there's hope! :banned: :suds:

Going to make it with 142.85

The good going forward, Brady, Gronk and Peterson byes are done

The Bad Romo, Dez B, Steve Smith, E Royal, D Adams, Vernon Davis all out that $66 and real tough to make it through bye weeks

Average team has about 1.65 players left. None of them are kickers :)

Here's the ownership chart below. Please note any omissions. Any players that are hurt below ARE included in the total.

WR Steve Johnson SD 1495

RB Danny Woodhead SD 1117

WR Antonio Brown PIT 919

RB LeVeon Bell PIT 899

Wow kick and punt return tds count for players did not realize that.

Thought more people would take Lockett for $3 based on that.

ETA - Actually must have looked it wrong several weeks ago. Looks like over 2000 ownership, which is pretty high.

Looks like you'll be in first after week 5, though unless Wheaton has a big day.

I think I am down to one K (paid for 3) and two really bad D's. May need to allocate more next year.

Don't know if I actually like my team or not. A healthy Reed and Adams would really help, as would Abdullah holding onto the ball

With Bortles injury I may have to depend on his backup which is Peyton doesn't bode well.Never in a hundred years would I have thought I would write that sentence.

Crazy!

Only have Tampa Defense out and Janikowski out next week (since i have Scobee on perma-bye I'll be down to just Gano).

Week 7 is the one I'm really sweating a little more - no Dalton, CJ Anderson (okay this is an absence I'm sadly sweating less now), D Adams, Royal, Eifert and R Rodgers out.

Anyway good luck to those sweating the Turk tonight!!!

Biggest bargains so far (also known as "guys I really wish were on my roster"):

QB - Andy Dalton $9 - Will be the highest scoring QB in the contest after Week 5 (although, Brady has a higher per/game average). Only 625 teams started off with Dalton on their roster (down to 387 after 4 weeks). Huge difference maker if you are one of the few with him on your team.

RB - D Freeman $14 - Leading all RBs by a large margin after Week 5 scoring (especially since the closest RB, Charles, is now out for the rest of the season. Only 243 people had the insight/luck to start the contest with Freeman on their roster. 191 of those teams are still alive (78.6% survival rate).

Only 21 teams were smart enough to have both Dalton AND Freeman on their starting rosters (16 still alive). That's $23 well spent. Which means you could have had both of these players (+T Austin) for the price of Andrew Luck and his 11.43 pts/game.

WR - Larry Fitzgerald $15 - Through 5 weeks, Fitz has the second most points scored at the WR position (7.5 pts behind Julio Jones). Unlike the widely owned Julio Jones, who cost an extra $11, only 355 people started the contest w Larry on their rosters. For those extra $11 you could have added:

  • WR - A Hurns $6 - After 5 weeks, Hurns is the 11th highest scoring WR in the contest after putting up 22+ pt games in the last 2 weeks. Owned by only 909 people when the season started.
  • WR - T Austin $3 - You have to have a few really low dollar guys that you gambled on hit in this contest. Austin is "that guy" at the WR position so far this season. His 70.3 pts through 5 games is good for 18th best at the WR position. And you most likely used his 29.6 pts in Week 4 to advance. Only 481 people gambled on Austin.
The best weekly score from these 3 WRs through week adds up to 139.3 pts. Julio Jones has 127.5 through the same period.

Only 1 person had the foresight to have all three of these value WRs on their roster. They are alive through 4 weeks, and will easily move on after Week 5 (Team #110672). Oh, and they also have Dalton at QB on their 27 man roster.

Oh, and if you threw those extra saved $2 on K S Janikowski, you'd have spent that $11 very well indeed.

TE - T Eifert $9 - Leading all TEs in scoring after Week 5 (97.2 pts), though he is behind Gronk in pts/game. Eifert wa a popular pick (on 3317 rosters to start the contest), but was a great value pick. Only 8 teams rostered the leading QB, RB, and TE (through Week 5). Good job, gentlemen.

Oh, and thanks to the resurgent D Murray and D Martin (and a typical Brady week), looks like I'll move on with 164.35 with Wheaton (-3.6 pts) and Steelers (-6 pts) to go. But my team is not built for the long run with 4 of my 7 WRs spending more time in the training room than on the field (Agholor, Adams, Shorts, and Royal).

My team finally broke the 200 point barrier not by much but it did. This contest is really the only bright spot in a really dismal fantasy season. Its not that my team is all that good its just that all my other teams are so excruciatingly bad they are painful to look at.At least with this game I am managing to hold my own and its really enjoyable to come to this thread and read everyone's comments and analysis. So thanks guys for at least giving me this to look forward to every week as far as fantasy goes.

Well hit 200pts, however all other players combined that did not count equaled 22pts lol. Charles is done for the year... Although I have a ton at RB it still sucks.

Will have to rethink drafting strategy next year...no way i would have drafted freeman, hopkins, maclin with prior mindset.
Hopkins was on my radar and really wish I would have taken him. I thought he would be force fed all year with the lack of options and I also thought Houston would take a step back this year with the Foster injury and quarterback spot. Then I said I am over thinking this and took him off my roster. Maclin and Freeman weren't ever even a consideration for me. Maclin because of Smith and Charles, and Freeman because I didn't know which back to own and I think it would have cost 27 dollar to own both for what I thought would be middle of the road running back 2 production. I am not sure anyone saw this coming from any Falcon back.

Doneski week 5 of my virgin season. It kills me that I had some combo of Freeman, D. Martin, and/or Eifert in most of my lineups then decided to "upgrade" with McCoy and Calvin Johnson.

:bag:

Here is my team number 109682, does anyone want to walk me through how to check your total rank or if that is too much work just tell me my total rank after 5 weeks?

I am in 247th in total points. I'll take it, especially since it doesn't mean anything. One bad week and any team can be history.

I searched the Top 500 list and didn't see your entry. Not sure how to query teams outside the Top 500.

191.05 - moving on

Thru 5:

QB: Brady (3), Taylor (1), Palmer (1).

Resume Brady Scorched Earth Mode

RB: Peterson (3), Martin (3), Hill (2), Ivory (2) Mathews (2), Michael (0)

MUSCLE HAMSTER!!! Good looking out during APs bye

WR: Julio (4), Edelman (4), Landry (3), Beasley (3), Royal (1), Adams (0)

Edelman has been a (lightly-owned) beast in this contest. And mini-me Edelman Cole Beasley has turned out to be a bit of a bargain

TE: Eifert (4), Cameron (2), V Davis (1), Celek (1)

Welcome to the party Brent Celek!

K: Janikowski (3), Scobee (2), Bullock (0)

Its the Sea Bass show

D: Raiders (3), Chargers (1), Saints (1)

zzzzzzz.....

Nice to see Mr. Gates show up in force this week.

Best showing in contest for me so far, from the perspective of being >40 points above the cutoff each week. Normally I have a lucky week or two by now and know I don't stand a chance.

Doing pretty good. But just realized I'm gonna need Big Ben to come back by week 8 (if I make it that far) cause both my other QB's on bye that week. Oh and it looks like I only got 1 RB going this week due to bye and injuries.

Whelp, same story 2 years in a row. My team was doing very well except I spent $58 on Charles and CJA. Last year it was $55ish lost on ball and Martin. I still have bell, Ingram and cmike so I'm hoping for CJA or cmike break out and save me.
