Summerpalooza II: Combined FF/Music Draft - Everybody Wants to Rule the League (2 Viewers)

It's not surprising that it attempts to be and is New England's team, but for CT, the place it almost moved to, which is Jets/Giants country in the south.
Seems like their bread is buttered in Beantown and those folks get the crap end of the stick here.  It was easier for me to get to Eagles games from Baltimore.

Couldn't happen to a nicer group of fans I tell ya!

Yeah, I was largely agreeing with you. That's why a move to Hartford, once upon a time done with a handshake deal in '95 or so, would have been such a disaster for them. They're Boston's team, but shared in name and accessibility for all in New England (meaning it's damn hard to get to no matter where you're coming from).

NFL teams probably don't want to do this kind of thing anymore ... but it would be cool if the Panthers did sorta what the Packers used to do with their Milwaukee games. Maybe one game at Clemson and one game at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia every year. I'd add in Charleston, but they don't have an NFL-size stadium.

But, with the modern NFL, you gotta be in a stadium with luxury boxes and PSLs and tricked-out locker rooms. The players would hate having to "go on the road" to play in a college stadium.
You don't think Clemson would have luxury boxes and a tricked out locker room? Look at LSU, and most big time schools will be up there soon, if they aren't already there!

I'll pick my song in a minute.

I was pretty astonished at how far Foxborough stadium is from Boston.. it is a legit haul for those fans, because it's just a ####ty local road (Route 1?).  ALL. DAY. AFFAIR.

SF to SJ is at least a big highway and game day traffic isn't that terrible, but yeah it's metro San Jose for sure
There is no good way to get to Foxboro from the north. The directions have you on 93, 128, 95 and Rt 1.

Bonzai is OTC in flap's league, up here. I'll bet he's also swamped at work for some reason, which would make for a lovely hour.

Better a round early than a round late or something like that. I liked this cheesy country song in my early 00s country phase.

8.05 - Austin Ekeler, RB, LAC

Blake Shelton - Austin

Good pick to handcuff Gordon.

I was going to grab Ekeler on the turn with Jackson Browne's treacly Hold On Hold Out

ETA:  not much more treacly than the Shelton tune

For my 7th round pick, I went to look at what year DJ Moore was born; 1997 was such a good year for songs. I could have chosen songs by Hanson, Backstreet Boys, or even Chumbawamba. You're welcome! ;) Going with someone from Baltimore (close enough to College Park where Moore went to college at U of MD.).

Tori Amos - Thank You (Zeppelin cover)

For the eighth, I ended up with a Charleston, SC guy (Jeffery went to SC), who I liked in Hootie, but he is spectacular solo as a country singer (which I sometimes have to listen to thanks to my wife!).

Wagon Wheel - Darius Rucker.
