Summerpalooza IV - Combined Music/Fantasy Draft - Braxton Un-Breaks My Heart (1 Viewer)

There’s also the button that allows you to make a voice recording and send it as a text. My MIL accidentally sent one of those to my wife and sure enough, it was a conversation of  my MIL talking #### about my wife. It was not a big deal because we all know my MIL is nuts and this is par for the course. When my wife asked her about it, she denied it like a child. Luckily my wife is very chill but I can imagine in some other families, this kind of thing has caused nuclear wars.
Man, that's gotta be the norm. I'll bet one in twenty or thirty fams have had a fight over something their child texted accidentally to Mom and Dad.

Yeah and older people who don’t know how to use their phones very well. I’ve accidentally sent the wrong person a text or hit the FaceTime button and didn’t know it. Luckily, nothing ever the least bit embarrassing or offensive.

The Cannonball Adderley Quintet - Star Eyes

Alto sax player Julian "Cannonball" Adderley (1928-1975) and trumpeter Nat Adderley (1931-2000) were both born in Tampa.  Cannonball was one of the most popular figures in Jazz during the early 60s fusing the sounds of hard bop with more soulful sounds. This recording from 1961 features both brothers.

I can’t totally disagree with this. VBD screamed that I had to take Kelce with pick 13 - but after that pick I just felt I was digging out of a hole the rest of the draft. Normally I’d wait on QB but since I took Kelce leaving me behind at RB and WR, I felt grabbing who I think will be the top QB in this format seemed like a better strategy- but that put me in another hole.

I do think OBJ and Chark have more upside than being given credit for but admittedly I’m behind most at WR - I’m actually ok with my RBs.

I look at it this way though, Kelce is really my WR1 and OBJ and Chark will be “competing” with my opponents WR2 and 3 and my WR3 will need to outscore my opponents crappy TEs (in most cases). I think I saved my draft with my depth picks though - I’m sure most feel that way though.

15.07  Josh Reynolds - WR/TEN/Texas A&M

Freddy Cannon - Tallahassee Lassie

@Eephus
I used to play Dedication or its companion cover by Vancouver's own Smugglers all the time on my radio show by Cannon mannon. Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon. I never really pumped the shtick up with actual dedications read in a fade out or anything, but it seems that would have been a great idea. I just used to dedicate it to the listeners. It was Sunday 1-3 A.M., after all.

Thanks for listening.

This song goes out to Bobby dedicated from Sue...

Seriously, nothing trips a Chuba up like pronouncing the young man's name correctly.

"Oh, and CHOO-bah was just mispronounced by the announcer. Again!"

Actually, what am I talking about? I hope the young man never sees the field this year.

Don Cherry - When Will the Blues Leave

This Don Cherry (1936-1995) was born in Oklahoma City. He's best known in Jazz circles as the trumpet player in Ornette Coleman's groundbreaking quartet and in other circles as the father of Neneh and Eagle Eye.

He was never a virtuoso on the instrument--his tone isn't the clearest and he occasionally flubs notes but he's interesting and musical in his own unique way.  This 1988 session reunited Cherry with the rhythm section of the Coleman quartet, Charlie Haden on bass and the great Billy Higgins on drums. I really enjoyed the album in the 80s  and was happy to see in on Spotify after an absence.

🤔

them's USofA sounding names, though ... "Josh Palmer" sounds like a gritty forechecker for the Halifax Mooseheads 🏒
If you told me an 18 year old left winger from White Rock, British Columbia named Chase Claypool was the top prospect in the upcoming NHL draft, I would buy it.
