Summerpalooza: Now at QB for the Buffalo Bills...Goo Goo Dolls (2 Viewers)

Yeah, and I think NV just died a little inside.

(Oh my God, we all do kind of know each other's tastes a bit well.)
I moved from Seattle to SLC for work 20 years ago..love it here.

Logan is a picturesque town.  The USU campus is gorgeous.

I can't vouch for a thriving music scene, though.

Really?

I didn't know you were out there. That's interesting. Hey, on a personal note -- and I only ask because we've discussed it -- whatever happened with your daughter visiting Wesleyan in CT, where I'm from? Did she decide on a college choice? That's a highly competitive school. My niece just left (they leave in late Sept.) for UCLA, so I'm thinking about it, of course.

She liked Wesleyan a lot but her top choice was Carleton College in Minnesota. She applied early decision there and was accepted so will never know if she would’ve gotten in to Wesleyan. Saved me a lot of $$ on application fees :)

She started a month ago and is loving it so far.

Carleton College is an awesome college. Home of the PSAT Merit Scholars, IIRC. Congratulations to her, and I'm glad she's happy with her choice. You must be beaming.

Good luck to her and hope it's a mild winter.  My daughter is a West Coast girl who went to college in the Midwest.  IIRC, her frosh winter wasn't bad but the one in her sophomore year was brutal.  I don't know how she would have handled a tough one without a year to acclimatize.

My older daughter just graduated from college in Maine.  She grew up in Utah so thought a Maine winter wouldn't be much different.  She got a rude awakening.  Her first winter there were 2 or 3 Nor'easters dumping 4-5 feet of snow at a time.  She acclimated quickly.

And from what I can tell, a Maine winter is tame compared to Minnesota.  I think my youngest has mentally prepared for it, though.

growing up in NCal, I thought I'd be somewhat prepped for my first winter in NYC for college. stocked up on a bunch of winter gear... all bought in CA. the wind and cold went right through every piece of clothing bought out there. also had no shoes for the wet stuff. basically, I was a dope. 30 years later... pretty much no change.

I stuck with a summer theme for my picks and already have some punk mixed in, so I think I can get away with this on my playlist...

WR Willie Snead - Ball State (Indiana)

The Ataris - Boys of Summer (Anderson, IN)

This guy is basically the embodiment of my ever changing tastes. I really hated country music when I was young. Then in the 90s I got really into it (the pop country Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney), etc... and I couldn't stand this guy, I guess because he was so different sounding from the rest of that 90s country sound.   Now I don't radio country at all but I'm a big fan of...

Nick Vannett, TE, Seattle - Ohio State University.

Dwight Yoakam - Fast as You - Columbus

Also, I can pretty safely say I've never drafted him before, but was pleasantly surprised no one else had taken him here.

Didn't this cat get arrested for something serious like fraud?

Oh, wow, I just used the Google and the bassist got arrested for real estate fraud. I remember reading about that. Too bad.

Dropped Chris Ivory (RB) - Buf.

Picked up Cole Beasley (WR) - Dal

Norah Jones - Don't Know Why

Nice, jazzy, bluesy song. She has such a good voice, besides being a heck of a piano player. When doing research, found out she was Ravi Shankar's daughter; that's some musical roots!!

I've been tempted to pick him up. I like the pick and the song! (Not that you need my affirmation; just figured I'd comment. :)  )

Oh man, I was streaming defenses and forgot to add songs, if I'm not mistaken.

Here goes:

Added:  New Orleans - Gnarls Barkley - Transformer

Dropped: NO

Added: Miami - The Crumbs - Dead Boys Too

Spotify: The Crumbs - Out Of Range

Dropped: Miami

Added - Arizona - Andrew Jackson Jihad - A Song Dedicated To The Memory Of Stormy The Rabbit

Reasons: Gnarls Barkley is just one of my favorites. I voluntarily posted a Grammy version of "Crazy" when I selected Tre'Quan Smith, so I'm doubling up, or doubling down, as it were. The Crumbs from Miami are drunk punk legends and stalwarts. Their criminally unheralded first eponymous album is full of goodness from 1997. The only album they had a professional rhythm section for, and the songwriting is just strong. The last song, by AJJ (now -- they've dropped the Jackson Jihad and changed to just initials) is one of my favorite new discoveries. I was supposed to see them with Toys That Kill in San Diego, but didn't go. Anyway, along the way, I found this. I really enjoy it. I hope you do, too.

Been watching him for a while, too. Needed someone badly this week, and he had best numbers with easiest location to pick music from!
