***Sunday Brunch, German-Style - Dolphins vs Chiefs*** (-1.5. 50.5) Mahomes handles business... (2 Viewers)

What took you so long to create this thread MOP?

So looking forward to this game. While it’s definitely deserved . . . I’m sick of the narrative that the Dolphins can’t beat a good team. Hope that changes this Sunday morning.

Flossen Hoch !!! (Stolen from Swamp)

London games are traditionally known for being sluggish and offensive woes.

This matchup seems to say the opposite on paper.

Any chances we are all disappointed with our skill players before lunch on Sunday with mighty defensive battle?

Should be an intersting game with a decent amount of subplots. The main question will be is KC's defense for real? They have been playing lights out and Miami has a lot of injuries along the line.

Also interesting in that both teams are approcahing this game differently in terms of travel. Miami got there Tuesday morning and is spending the week while KC is getting there late friday/early saturday.

Dang that's a pretty choice game for the Krauts to land. Oh, that's a pejorative. Hun? Also out. Fritz or Jerry are acceptable *(for now.) Anyway, nice get for the Hessens.
As someone who is part Polish, I am probably more experienced than most when it comes to ethnic jokes and descriptions. That said unlike a certain American university, there is zero chance that we will be seeing a picture of Hitler on the scoreboard.

That’s funny, as I wrote that I was thinking back to how many dumb Polack jokes I heard growing up. Super cringe, glad that’s in the rear view.

Festbier-Lager, doubt there is any still around town although check the brewery.
I have a 4-pack in the fridge special for Sunday since this is in Frankfurt, Germany
It's actually a bit late for some Oktoberfest but since it starts in September, why not end in style in November?

One of the key match ups this week will be @ChiefD vs MoP in a battle to convince everyone their team is going to lose this weekend
I have a feeling he's going to win.
I'm betting Miami on the money line I think.

The Chiefs are a mess right now. And I think Miami has a massive advantage already being there and acclimating to the time change. This game is massive for home field advantage. I just wish our offense was hitting on all cylinders.

It's not. And we will see about the defense. This will clearly be the best offense they have faced.

Terron Armstead is practicing. Connor Williams was helped by being held back. He will be back to practice this week. Rob Hunt day to day. Will try to get into practice. Nothing today. Maybe tomorrow. Jevon Holland is out of concussion protocol.

Dolphins getting healthier.

The BYE next week will also help.

I'm going straight up old school breakfast. Will be cooking on the Blackstone and watching the game outside in the garage. An old-fashioned breakfast tailgate in the morning:

Bacon
Eggs
Hash Browns
Pancakes

Booyah! :headbang:

Doing the same, outside garage viewing and fire pit. Schnitzel for everyone !

Betting on Chiefs - heavily.

Are these games only on NFL network or are they on a cbs/fox/nbc?

I have not watched a single sunday morning game this year, but i do not have cable, only rabbit ears.

I like that MNF has been on ABC most weeks.

This is a great Sunday Morning to find a sports bar that opens early or a just a nice brunch spot that might also carry the game at their bar inside the restaurant
It's just 1 game, 1 week, make it a special event and then come back home for the afternoon games.

Hated the Europe games when they first started.
I'm a convert now, football all day is awesome.
Chiefs to rebound from a very yucky performance?
Dolphins get a "signature" win?
Fantasy Football GOLD game of the week?
Should be a fun game to sit back and watch on Sunday MORNING!
How about...

Miami- 37
Kansas City- 34

Blackstones are incredible.

I’ve tried nearly everything on them and they are so much fun and so easy.

Smash burgers are great on them.

Pro tip… if you are a fan of fried rice… try some homemade chicken fried rice on it next time. It’s awesome.

As someone with young kids I’m a fan as well. By the time boob o’clock rolls around we’ve got soccer or cheerleading or a birthday party or whatever. So I enjoy the 8:30 game. I could understand why west coast people might not like it. But I’m up at that hour anyways.

Now the only problem with this take specifically is that I’m going against Mahomes AND Tyreek and I have huge concerns that I’m going to be starting in a huge hole by high noon.

This should be a fun game in what should be a great atmosphere, Frankfurt fans bring it in soccer at least
Germany loves the NFL. They drew the most fans when the WLAF was in existence.

Yep, I've mentioned this in some of the generic international game threads, we get a lot coming over for the London games, as well as a lot of other big sporting events in general. Guy sat next to me at the game I went to at Spurs was from Freiburg, and when I went to the world darts for the first time I was with a group who came over from Dresden

Ha. is that what you are doing? I don't think so.

I think it's a great morning to get coffee, and lounge on the couch watching the game, and checking lineups during commercials. Perhaps a bong rip after every TD.
Just ask us west coast guys what we do every sunday. :coffee:

MoP will be firmly planted at home, I'm just saying if you don't have access, find an Irish Bar that opens early
I will be making brunch and coffee for sure up until about kick off and then it's party time
I'm with you on the toke n rips, in fact feels like a good time to pack an evening bowl myself

-Next time I get a little huffy around here, remind me to go grab a puff, thanks Mass, good post

About 20 yrs ago when I lived off 10th/11th in Santa Monica between Montana and Olympic-Father's Office was down the back alley, there was a local sports bar you could walk to, they had small TVs but had the Sunday Ticket and plenty of cheap booze, you would walk in at 9am when the pregame stuff was on, try and get some food before it was so packed you couldn't move, try and get a pitcher of anything so you had something to sip on during the games. The more upscale spots around town would have the little helmets at the bottom of the big screens so you knew what games were going to be on in which corners of the bar.

Grew up East Coast, move to SoCal when I was like 25, felt like a fish out of water for a while. Sunday NFL was an adjustment for sure.

If the Fins get Armstead and Connor Williams back…

…mother#######, this is gonna get interesting, real fast.

Should be fun.

That is my go to favorite on the Blackstone, chicken or pork fried rice.

Wife is away for the weekend so I might make myself a smorgasbord on the Blackstone now that it has been brought up. Some berry pancakes, hash browns and suasage.

Yeah we do this too. So easy and really good. We throw some shrimp in there from time to time.

OL Hunt has been ruled out for this game. In better news, sounds like C Connor Williams will play and LT Armstead has a good chance to play as well.

On the defensive side, with both X and Holland returning for this game it would make the defense 100% healthy from the preseason projected staring lineup.

If they somehow can get a W this game and the BYE next week they getting healthier for the stretch run.

Lester Cotton played for a couple years at Alabama starting on their OL, won 2 National Titles
He's likely to try and fill Hunt's shoes on Sunday, good luck Cotton.
27 yrs old, 6-4/330

as a KC fan....I really have no idea how they are being favored in this game....
It's pretty simply. Mahomes. Plus, Miami has done very poorly defensively against very good QBs the last 2 years, like Allen, Hurts, Herbert, Cousins. Even Russell Wilson looked good in the 1st half of the blowout. I'm not sure if Ramsey and Fangio can stop Mahomes. And Tua has been inconsistent vs the better teams.

Is anyone gonna be a couch potato for over 14 hours tomorrow, watching 8 winning teams, including the most likely SB teams? I can't do it for 14 hours straight, but I plan to watch the entirety of the Dolphins early and Bills late.

>>So a glorious 14 1/2 hours of football tomorrow: Dolphins-KC at 9:30 a.m. (NFL Net and NBC-6 locally), Seattle-Baltimore at 1 (CBS); Dallas-Eagles at 4:25 (Fox) and Cincinnati-Buffalo at 8:20 (NBC). Eight winning teams... Also, Washington-NE aired locally for those so inclined.<<

Are they available in liquor stores? My daughter just moved from Winter Park to Oakland and I see they were just a few minutes from her old apartment. Might be able to send her on a recon mission for when we visit over the holidays.
