Starting to think the Dolphins aren't a real threat. They beat up on the weak teams and aren't really challenging the good teams.

Mike McDaniel is a liability on Defense and his Offense doesn't stack up vs Good Defenses
Coach Mike McDaniel was down the list of guys Miami was set to interview and hire
He went 9-9 last year
He's soon to be 6-3 with all 6 wins in '23 vs losing teams
In Saintsland ... people are constantly bashing team brass for not "doing something" to land Mike McDaniel back when he was available. We all think he's Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh, and Bill Belichick rolled into one -- except more innovative.
They smoke alot in Europe.

Sean Payton challenges Mike McDaniel, right now, to an off-the-books game out in the crop field like on Blue Mountain State. Do the Dolphins win big over Denver again, or are the Dolphins today a different team (in all aspects) than they were in Week 3?
Is Miami the kind of team that can be exposed through film study a bit, and other teams have "caught up" some? Or is it more that if the Dolphins had all their offense healthy (e.g. Achane, Armstead), it would be a night-and-day difference?

The Jets defense is only 12th in DVOA. It's their pass defense that is strong. Their run defense, defense against running back passes, and defense against quarterback runs is suspect and how a lot of yards have been earned against them.

I would move Armstead and Williams back to the bench, get Lamn and Eich out there
Miami will go 6-3 today, they can win their next 5 games vs inferior teas and go 11-3 before they get slapped around again by Balt, Dallas and Buffalo
11-6, 1st Rd loss in the Playoffs to a wildcard team
11-7 is about the best they can shoot for this year, 9-9 last year
Brian Flores was run out of town, a move that cost Stephen Ross, the Miami Dolphins and their fan bas a 1st Rd and 3rd Rd Draft pick
Flores was run out because he wouldn't throw football games for Ross and he went 19-15
19-15 vs 20-16 maybe for McDaniel? Not that much imrpvoement in reality
Empty calories and that's only if Miami is able to keep beating team they are favored against.

I still need to know if they call a Whopper a Whopper.
The book against Miami is take away the deep plays, jam the elite WRs to throw off the timing, and stop the run. Not every defense can do that. BTW, Armstead is healthy, the only players missing are RG Hunt and Achane. No excuses. Coach McDaniel needs to adjust.

It's not that ... it's that good teams should be tough outs even in losses. One or two "everything went wrong" games over a season ... OK, it happens. But collapsing against every quality squad is a different thing.
