***Super Bowl LVIII - San Francisco 49'ers 14-5 vs Kansas City Chiefs 14-6*** (+2, 47.5) Chiefs are World Champions 25-22 in Overtime (1 Viewer)

The only thing that matters right now is what folks are preparing for 6:00, both to eat and drink

-We are doing turkey chili to munch on and dip some blue tortilla chips in while watching the game.
Also doing grilled chicken tenders/cutlets with Frank's red hot and some blue cheese dressing to dip in.

Beers in the fridge include...
-Weldwerks "Pop Queen" 4-pack and then a whole bunch of single cans
-Other Half, both the Space and Dusted
-Hawk and Animal-Road Warriors, If you can't be good, be bald, that's the name of it, "Hoof-Hearted", say that a few times out loud
-LA-JFK-TPA by Angry Chair and it's my last can, limited release, f-bomb delicious on a collab with Other Half
-KCBC, Superhero Sidekicks, one of my personal favs
-Magnanimous, numerous ones but the Pilsners they make are awesome, Dynamo and No Nothing
-Equilibrium-Tye Dye, deliciousness

I would steer clear of the +/- 2.5 either side and focus on that 47.5/u that has not moved an inch since it opened.

-MoP likes the under thus far, I could make a case for less than 30-35 points today
Great Defenses so both Offenses will be challenged to move the ball.

I would be a little shocked to see either team hit 30 and if they did it might mean something that looks like 31-9 Bucs over Chiefs in 2020
You knew I was gonna work that in

Nice feature from the Athletic. I think it's free to read. https://theathletic.com/5264022/202...te=1&user_id=58c1b97b6fe27706617877bdc2885b37

40 of the 50 experts picked KC to win. I don't recall that many experts going against Las Vegas in a while.

Made me re-up with TheAthletic, which is a good thing.

When I don't care who wins, I usually pull for an upset. A KC win doesn't feel like an upset. Pulling for Purdy feels like hoping for an upset despite the 2 points. Maybe the best thing to hope for is an incredible game without controversy.

Also, happy birthday, Joe. Your twitter feed has me planning a trip to Texas to feed. ;)

Purdy is the ultimate underdog in this game. No matter the outcome I'll be rooting for Purdy.
Yes ideally I want him to have a great game and the Chiefs win. But I don’t care enough one way or the other to get upset by the outcome. Just hoping for a good game!

I’m traveling for work so will actually get to watch a superbowl in my hotel in peace with no family or friends. Kind of looking forward to it!

Smoked Queso Dip goes in the smoker soon!!

Much less fancy/selection, my Super Bowl party is 4 people. Rice Krispie squares, sausage and cheese curd pizza, and Spotted Cow beer.

I like the 49ers and the over, and think SF doesn;t come out flat this time. I think something like 38-17 could happen, where it does resemble the TB/KC game a bit. Really think KCs terrible OTs are in for a long day, and think SF gets too many favorable matchups on offense to be fully stopped. I like CMC or Bosa for MVP. Boring pick, but CMC for 1st TD feels like a 50-50 bet. But for a longshot bet, I kinda like Kyle Juszczyk on either a FB dive, or a PA to CMC, where he leaks wide open into the flat.

Come on Niners...

Please send the Mahomes (Patrick and Brittany) and the Swifts (Travis and Taylor) home crying and win this for America or at least sane people.

I have beefy nachos going. Made some veggies and dip. Getting ready to prep a cheese and cracker tray. Friend is bringing over a couple of Papa Murphys pizza’s. Got a fire in the fireplace and drinking some Miller Lite’s.

Family and football is all you need today. And for those watching alone….the people here in this thread are your family today. This is a special place where a bunch of nerds somehow connect.

Have a great day gents.

Making an entire Thanksgiving dinner with mash potatoes/gravy, green bean casserole, Sweet potato casserole and cranberry stuffing. Turkey set to come out at 2:30. I know it's unconventional but wth.

The Niners have the talent to be unstoppable with their A game. The problem is until the second half against Detroit, we haven't see their A game since Week 15 against the Cardinals and their defer the toss/lap strategy has backfired the last two weeks. The Chiefs are great and no one should be surprised if they win, but I think the Niners will finally bring their A game, dominate the run and win 34-24

70 degrees and clear skies in San Diego Ca. After the rain, looks like a beautiful day for the last game of the season. Good luck Wingnut and the 49ers as well.

If SF can score 30 points, then hat tip to them and they’ll likely win, but KC has given up more than 24 points only 1 time all season and it was 27.

Yeah I’m seeing the public incredibly heavy on the chiefs with the sharp money on the Niners.

This will come down to what 49er team shows up. The dominant one we saw for most of the regular season? They win in a blowout. The team we’ve seen the last two weeks? Chiefs win handily. Reid and Mahomes will not let the 49ers back in.

In fact, I kind of see this as having more of a chance for a double digit win in either direction than most.

What I find odd is that you would have thought the Packer game was enough of a wake up call to motivate the 49ers to get back to form and I expected a blowout against Detroit. But it didn’t and they once again needed late game heroics to win. Makes me wonder if that team is either tired or just over achieved for a lot of games this year. Also makes me question the coaching a bit.

I don’t have any of those questions with the Chiefs. We know who they are.

One could argue that Detroit's lack of desire to kick field goals may have cost them the football game
San Fran peaked in the middle of the season
Philly peaked early in the season
I'm not sure the Chiefs ever peaked but they have managed to find their way into a game they are too familiar with
Maybe San Fran comes out and looks like they did mid-season when folks were making comparisons to Seattle 2012

I haven't done a prediction yet, so let me get it out of the way. Everything in every fiber of my being thinks San Francisco is the better team, but I'm picking Kansas City because of Mahomes. That said, I think we're going to find out awfully early if K.C. can play with these guys as a team. It'll be little things, e.g., whether the Kansas City run defense and can stop SF from gashing them—but we're going to know by the second quarter what kind of game we have. Regardless of that, I see Kansas City winning because I never bet against Patrick Mahomes.

KC - 25
SF - 24

Just got a feeling we’re gonna have a stinker Super Bowl like the TB/KC one from a few years ago.

I think defense is the name of the game and I’ve doubted Mahomes for the last time. KC being a dog is pretty comical with how they’ve shown up in the playoffs and returned before, it’s hard to remove from mind what we saw the 1st half of the NFCCG.

I think 13 is the magic number for the 49ers. How fast can they get to that number? If quick, we have a game. Otherwise…

KC 31
SF 20

Chiefs jump out to a big lead, 49ers come back after halftime just like the last two games, but this time can’t close it out.

Kansas City 31
San Francisco 27

SF had to rally against two good, but not great teams, at home to get here. Haven’t really played top level football in a while.

Chiefs beat better teams, Buffalo and Baltimore, to get here. They manage every game situation exceptionally well.

Game goes under. Spags gets two weeks for prep.

KC 24
SF 20.

24-20 either way seems like an easy score to predict tonight

31-13 San Fran?
30-16 Chiefs?
You start working the numbers and it seems a lot safer to predict 24-20 or 20-17
Good defenses, should be some major hitting in this game
Just doesn't seem like a game with a lot of TDs

Neither team is really built for a shootout or coming from behind by double digits if the need arises
Good luck both teams
Hope the Refs don't screw this up tonight
