I think everybody who said that Brady and Arians weren't getting along had a point after all. I was among those who saw discontent just in the doings and dealings of all of this.
Crazy offseason. Careful what you wish for. Todd Bowles is an absolute statue of a coach. I predict a 11-6 year with him at the helm.
I know, Brady. But they'll have another difficult schedule and Bowles is their coach.

Eh, it was the Jets (no offense). Who has made it work there in the last 25 years other than Rex Ryan?
I had a lot of issues with Bowles defense, especially in the Rams game, but if he’s even 15% more aggressive than Arians I’ll consider it an upgrade. That guy left a lot of meat on the bone.

He won't be. Arians will be run n' gun compared to Bowles. Lots of 4th and 1s not gone for. Unless he's learned something.

Bruce Arians had my respect before he was ever the Bucs Head Coach, admired him as an assistant in Pitt, watched him become the glue in Indy when the other head coach had cancer and stepped aside and allowing Bruce Arians to show he was a head coach in disguise. He went on to Arizona with great success and then finally achieve the ultimate as Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arians is almost 70 years old and owes nothing to anyone. He only was a Head Coach for about a decade.
80-48 as a Head Coach and a 6-3 Playoff record including 4-0 during the Playoffs in 2020.

I think Bowles’ decision making on 4th down might be somewhat different with Brady running the offense. Go look at the QBs the Jets gave Todd when he was HC.
Bryce Petty. Geno Smith. Josh McCown. Bowles actually went 10-6 with Ryan Fitzpatrick.

And I don’t expect Bowles will have much to do with the offense. If that philosophy changes it’s because Brady wants it to. What we might see are fewer deep shots. Especially on 3rd and short, which was maddening at times.

The word up in this area from some guys in the know was that Brady's retirement was some type of power-play whether it was to get to another team or something to do with Arians...looks like they may have been correct...Bowles is the perfect Coach for this team...very good defensive mind, will let the vets do their thing and most importantly Brady will be very happy as he won't hear the word no.

Yes, but he won two Super Bowls, a national title, and put together a dynasty. I wouldn't call what Arians has done a dynasty, but he is looked at favorably from a career point of view IMO.

From a lifestyle standpoint, Gisele would absolutely pick Miami over TB. Gorgeous woman in a city full of gorgeous people.

It's been carrying on down here n South Florida for months...let me catch everyone up.
-Shortly after the season ended and Flores was fired, 1st Action by Stephen Ross was to try and hire Sean Payton AND make Brady an owner of the Miami Dolphins...we have no idea what % of the team but we hear it was for significantly more than folks like the Williams Sisters who have a small stake in the team amongst other celebrities. This was before Coach M&M arrived and was declared the Guru.
-Then Miami seemingly filled in many small holes and turned that into a major splash with Armstead at Left Tackle paired with trading for Tyreek Hill. And even if Tua is just decent they are going to be a Playoff contender this season after going 19-14 last 2 years. OL being rebuilt again and ALL 11 starters on Defense plus the DC return for Miami/ Right now this team is looking very appetizing for a veteran QB to come in and turn the key.
-Brady's name has not stopped coming up in trade talks to the Miami Dolphins and it makes no sense but people are talking about it and there would seem to be some smoke but honestly its as far fetched as it gets. Bruce Arians would have to up and retire first, wait a minute. HaHa that line was a joke. In fact Arians retiring makes it easier from reports for Brady to stay on one more year in Tampa.
-Brady retires, un-retires, Arians retires, it's all goofy.

The "dope" that posted on Twitter was Dale Arnold, a Boston media guy that was around for the launch of WEEI radio in 1991 and stayed there 30 years before retiring. He used to be a play-by-play broadcaster for the Patriots and Bruins. A couple of years ago, Arnold tweeted that Brady would be signing with Tampa . . . said to be the first one with that tidbit.
IMO, people are potentially misinterpreting what he tweeted: "Would not be surprised if Tom Brady didn’t play for Buccaneers next season. Try a little further South." He didn't say THIS season . . . he said NEXT season. He's not the only one with ties to the Patriots that reported a connection between Brady and the Dolphins.
Connecting the dots, IMO, there is a decent chance that one of the contingencies for Brady returning to the Bucs was installing a different head coach. No one will ever get anyone to go on the record about that, so there will never be an official report about what went down. I think there was too much smoke about Brady being unhappy with Arians that this could have happened. We probably will never learn what caused Brady to retire and unretire and Arians moving into a consulting role.
I still think there is some connection (or there have been discussions) between the Brady camp and the Dolphins. Who knows how serious that got (or if there is a chance he makes a move there in 2023).

used to be a TE, went on a 7000 calorie diet to become a RT
he'll play left guard in the NFL, he's nimble for a big man (6'5", 312)
(Bucs lost both their starting Gs from last year - FA & retirement)
very strong - 26 reps at the combine were Top 5-6 for OL
look up highlights of Lew Nichols III (leading rusher in FBS) and you'll probably find Goedeke pancaking somebody

Seems like they went into this draft with a specific plan on addressing 2022 needs. Hall and Goedeke slot in on the weakest depth areas. I trust in Licht on offensive linemen.
RBs? Not so much. At least White seems like a solid receiver. He doesn’t run with a lot of power. Went down on first contact or actually tried leaping over tacklers in a lot of the clips I saw. Another Charles Sims.
I would have preferred a TE like Ruckert in the 3rd and a RB like Pierce/Spiller in the 4th instead of White/Otton, but what do I know?
The freaky freak athlete CB Zyon McCollum was my favorite pick. If he’s a hit this draft could end up being a homerun. I wanted him when they drafted…
A punter from Georgia. I guess it’s a cap related move so they can cut Pinion and give his money to Gronk? At least I hope that’s what it was. Licht is kind of determined to make a kicker pick look like a steal. I think it just makes him look dumb.
As it is they traded a 2023 4th to come back in for McCollum in the 5th. Ok? Just skip the punter and take him in the 4th then.
They moved up for a ginger TE from Minnesota who has fewer career catches in college than I do. He can block apparently.
Other guys were also drafted.

FYI, they did bring in Shaq at Guard from New England, but I hear you on the OL holes, retirement came out of left field but Brady had not said he was coming back yet, still think he could be talked out of it as the season starts.
Goedeke and Shaq should be make a strong combo inside with Jensen back at Center.

Round 2 (33): Logan Hall, DT, Houston...They say DT but he has enough skills and athleticism to roll between DE/DT, Vita Vea is a boulder in the middle and stuffs the run, HAVOC and DISRUPTION is what i would say, has all the skills to take it next level and the Bucs were wise to scoop him up. With Brady 45 yrs old, you'd think Offense but the Bucs were lacking in their F7 last year, Shaq Barrett cannot do everything himself and JPP was a turd last year.
Round 2 (57): Luke Goedeke, OL, Central Michigan...I'll go with Bobby Layne here.
Round 3: (91): Rachaad White, RB, Arizona State...I LOVE THIS PICK...Brady doesn't need another target but with the OL additions and Fournette anchoring, the Bucs will have the luxury of running the ball and setting up play action with Evans. Bucs will be one of those teams that can just line up and run you over when they feel like it. White was in my Top 5 RBs coming into the Draft but I had Pierce from Florida at #3 on my list...Bucs have a Perce-like RB already in Fournette. White will be much better than RoJo was IMHO.
Round 4: (106): Cade Otton, TE, Washington...Why not? Gronk will sign up again but he get injured often and they need to develop a future guy. Don't expect much from a 4th Rd TE but they needed some cheap depth here.
Round 5: (133): Jake Camarda, P, Georgia...Cheaper than paying a veteran I suppose
Round 5: (157): Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State...Will compete for time in the Nickel and Dime sets right away. He has skills teams want and should have never fallen this far. Steal Steal Steal

Round 7: (248): Andre Anthony, DE, Louisiana State...Camp competition.
Overall I liked the Draft for the Bucs but more so for life eventually in the Post-Brady era, Hall Goedeke, White and McCollum should all see the field this year.

They lost Whitehead but will add McCollum to this bunch.
-Bucs are a little light on depth along the DL, they needed Logan Hall and the more I think about it, he's going to play more DE and will definitely be one of the DLineman on passing situations.

These last 3 years have been hard to grasp…now my favorite player of all time is here. One game at a time…
I love playing devil's advocate. Let's not consider the games he has missed over the last 2 years, but the ones he played in - 19 games, 116 targets, 82 catches (70.7% catch rate), 1205 yards (14.7 YPR), 4 TD's. If you cut that down to a 17 week season, it equals 73/1078/3. Julio gets a chance to catch passes from the GOAT, and I bet he is looking forward to it.

They aren’t asking him to be WR 1, 2 or 3. They will ask him to play 20-25 snaps, probably in third down and red zone opportunities. Julio being matched up against CB4 in those situations is a huge advantage for the Bucs.

I gotta remember to just enjoy it because this will be gone soon and this is just so amazing. Even if they have great seasons in the future, it won’t be with the greatest QB ever and practically an all-star team.

Not going to argue those raw numbers. I made a post in Julio's thread from a guy who watches a ton of tape without bias. He analyzed Julio's snaps from last year, and when active he was still very effective.
For fantasy, yeah, probably can't count on him. But, ideally, the Bucs have all these guys healthy and ready for the playoffs. Tough to stop if they are, which is the point.

Sounds bad from what I’m reading. Players all standing around him, helmets off, carted off the field. They just paid him $39M, so I’m assuming he’s an anchor of their OL. Brutal.menobrown said:

Brady probably already regretting that un-retirement decision.
Let’s hope it’s not serious obviously, but early reports and the player’s reactions are not positive.
I’d assume Hainsey would be the guy to step in. J.C. Tretter is a vet that’s available.
