TE Dalton Schultz, HOU (1 Viewer)

That said, the regular season was disappointing
He was hurt for 2 games, Dak was out for 6?

When paired up, his productivity was fine. Cooper Rush wasn’t much of a TE guy.

Let’s hope his new QB looks for the TE more than Rush did. I’m not holding 2022’s stats against Schultz for 2023.

I like him a lot in Houston.

He's shown the ability to be productive at the position. He goes to a worse offense, but my goodness at the opportunity.

The only other proven pass catcher is Robert Woods--who is 31 and hasn't looked the same since his ACL tear. I think Woods is done. Metchie (Rooting hard for the guy) and Collins haven't reallys shown a lot to date.

I think Stroud is going to succeed in Houston. But he's young and inexperienced. Houston doesn't have a ton around him at this point. I would guess he'll toss it short to the TE a lot early on.

why was this never renamed? @Truebluey
Dalton Schultz caught 2-of-4 targets for four yards in the Texans’ Week 1 loss to the Ravens.

In a game that saw 44 pass attempts from C.J. Stroud, Schultz found himself on the receiving end of just four of those targets. Nico Collins and Robert Woods accounted for 21 of the Texans’ targets on the day, while Schultz was left scraping for leftovers. Facing a stout linebacker corps didn’t do anything to help Schultz, who will be nothing more than TE2 streaming option in Week 2 against the Colts.

Today just felt dirty as a Schultz owner. Here's to Kincaid at least getting some run tomorrow so I don't have to play this game anymore.

Dalton Schultz (thing) was upgrade to a full participant for Thursday’s practice.
Schultz was listed as limited on Wednesday, but that may have been nothing more than the team giving him a lighter day as a veteran. Schultz managed just four targets in Week 1’s loss to the Ravens, despite being on the field for the majority of C.J. Stroud’s 44 pass attempts. Schultz could be on the streaming radar against the Colts in Week 2, but last week’s outing was discouraging.

Welp, this guy is my new TE. Dropped Freiermuth earlier in the year and picked up Higbee who stunk it up the last two weeks. This guy was still on waivers after stringing together some recent solid weeks so here I am. Hoping he keeps ballin'!

I traded him away. Some outlets were speculating he saw so many more targets because Tank Dell was out.

TE is such a crapshoot this year, who knows who will go off vs. not. He no doubt has been on a big tear the past 3 weeks.

Yep. Which is why I traded for an elite option in Kittle. Who has 4 games of under 5 total points. Kickers, Taysom Hill and 98% of the tight end position is a waste of time to analyze. Ha ha

Dalton Schultz played on 29-of-60 snaps in the Texans’ Week 12 loss to the Jaguars.

Schultz’s one-catch outing against the Jaguars came completely out of left field. While he managed just six catches over the previous two weeks, Schultz had played on 60 percent of Houston’s snaps in eight of 10 games entering Sunday. However, the return of Brevin Jordan from injured reserve immediately forced Schultz into a split in both snaps and routes. His 22 routes were only two more than Jordan’s 20, and he managed only two targets to Jordan’s one. Schultz has a “get right game” in Week 13 against the Broncos, but this split could severely limit his upside going forward.

KPRC2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports Dalton Schultz (hamstring) is likely out for Week 14 against the Jets.

Schultz wasn’t able to practice this week as he recovers from a hamstring issue he picked up a few weeks ago. His absence will make Brevin Jordan the Texans’ primary pass-catching tight end this week against the Jets. In Week 13, Jordan ran a route on 24 of C.J. Stroud’s 34 drop backs and caught three of five targets for 64 yards. Jordan is a top streaming option for Week 14.

Texans TE Dalton Schultz (hamstring) is trending towards returning in Week 15 against the Titans.

Schultz was able to participate in part of practice on Wednesday, which is great news considering he missed the last two games with his hamstring injury. While Brevin Jordan has filled in admirably, the Texans would love to have Schultz back in the fold now that Tank Dell is out for the season and both Nico Collins and Noah Brown are banged up. There’s a chance that Schultz could be the top receiving option this weekend in his first game back.

In a start 2 TE, TE-P format, this dude has been worth every penny of the 2nd round pick I paid for him 2 years ago. Big part of why I cashed a ‘ship this year. Glad he’s staying in HOU.

I think he has an even better 2024 as Stroud develops.
