Allow me to be overly clear...

I think there is a decent change that Logan Thomas can straight up outscore Kyle Pitts this season.   Let's say those chances are 40%.    Those aren't good odds for Pitts drafters taking him in the 3rd or early 4th.

I mean, come on.  Could Thomas outscore Pitts?  Sure.  But you're drafting not only for a baseline but for upside.  Pitts could win the league for you,  unlike Thomas.   BTW, where is all the opportunity coming for Thomas?  McLaurin is the clear WR1, WFT paid to get C Samuel, Gibson is going to be heavily involved in the offense, WFT D is going to be good, and Fitzmagic could flame out like he has had in the past.  You're making it seem like Thomas is a lock.  Far from it.

The previously cited (and provided by me) Mike Clay's projections are pretty close to where I'm at...I'm actually a little higher on both, but the ratio comes out to .9.

The number for me is actually closer to 45%, but I know the Pitts homers/dynasty onwers/third round drafters would lose their #### if I even said 40%, so I played it conservatie.

The only thing that's changes for Thomas is that Samuel has been added and Ftiz has been added, that's an overall bump in situation.   Thomas is tremendous value this year.

The beauty is he could put up 250 ff points and he will still be the TE1, because every person out here talking about how TE's don't score fantasy points will be salivating and the potential next year.  There has never been an appreciating asset as great as owning Kyle Pitts in Fantasy.  According to @TripItUp the baseline is just 256 yards and 3TD's scored by Vernon Davis.  I think Pitts easily triples that number.  

I answered 2 questions in that post @tangfoot - you must have lost interest midway.  If Kyle Pitts is a top 4 TE this season, I am not sure (based on the TE's don't produce early in their career comments) why he wouldn't be the top TE after a +200pt FF performance in his rookie year.

Do your board, scoop up value.  I put in several hours of angst worrying about paying up for TE. In some ways I agree with Tripp. Let's say you have Pitts overall at # 54. Just stick with your guns there. I read a billion articles and listened to three billion podcasts. Rate guys, get a plan going and then have fun. 

People who drafted him at 4.02 are probably going to be disappointed. People who got him at 5.11 should probably be pumped. Round and a half where a ton of WR value flies off the board so right to think he should be behind that tier of WR like Kupp/Dionte/ DJ Moore. But OBJ vs Sutton or Corey Davis, who cares, get your Pitts. 

Tripp's recommendation to wait on L Thomas is only half right. If you think he's the last train leaving the station how much sense does it make to wait and hope you don't get sniped in the 6th round. His ADP on ESPN was 67.

I split your difference and got Pitts 5.01 None from the 4-6 would have made it back.

Personally I got him in five leagues in the fifth round. If he flops or is just average no big deal. If he takes off like a lot of us think he could this year he’ll be worth where he was taken and more. I can’t see how he’s going to totally flop that team will move the ball, smith will scheme the ball to him, Ryan will get him the ball and they honestly only have a few main weapons to get the ball down the field in Pitts, Ridley, and Davis and some minor weapons they’ll use as well. If Ryan passes for 4500 yards where are the other 3000 yards coming from after Ridley gets his 1500 yards?

I gambled a good portion of them are going to come from Pitts. I’d say/guess 800 yards is a conservative estimate

The issue for Pitts owners may be more Ryan than anything, but either way early signs are not promising. Falcons probably should have drafted a QB this year given the rookie draft crop will not be nearly as strong next year.

Kyle Pitts caught 4-of-8 targets for 31 yards in Atlanta's Week 1 loss to Philadelphia.

Well, the good news is he tied for the team lead in targets and was used all over the formation, as threatened. The bad news is the Falcons offense struggled to block long enough to get deep routes open, Darius Slay spent some time on Pitts, and Pitts didn't create a ton of separation on his targets. An offensive pass interference penalty wiped out another 11-yard gain. Pitts' volume is intriguing, but Tampa Bay's pass rush against Atlanta's offensive line seriously tampers down his appeal heading into Week 2.

I'm not pro or con but my goodness it's one game and he got 8 targets.  I would say it's a push.

If he was a traditional TE I would avoid but I think it's highly unlikely he plays even 20% of the time from a traditional TE formation so his upside is much bigger than most rookie TEs. He's functionally a big slot WR who will move all over formations to create mismatches.

ATL isn't very good overall, they're probably very bad, but they still have a good QB and decent OL so I think redraft people should not sell Pitts.

If you sell, or even think about selling, in dynasty you should sell the entire team and take up a different hobby.

He doesn't suck. But - Atl made the wrong move going for a TE that high. They needed OL, badly. An upgrade at OL contributes to a win a heck of a lot more then an upgrade at TE.  Pitts is a luxury. He's the equivalent of paying to subscribe to all the HD channels when you dont have a TV to take advantage of them.  Maybe it'll pay off in the long run...but right now? Not so much.

They got destroyed by the Eagles - who frankly aren't a great team either. Its not going to be pretty.

I think he had quite a few targets, which is a positive but yes... definitely didn't seem to be a Logan Thomas type for sure.

Kyle Pitts ran 23 routes from the slot and 14 routes split out wide in Week 1 against the Eagles. 

Pitts nabbed four of eight targets for 31 yards and had an 11-yard reception called back on offensive pass interference. While his meager output was disappointing, Pitts' Week 1 usage was spectacular news for those who drafted him this summer. The rookie ran a route on 90 percent of Matt Ryan's drop backs. His 31 pass routes were the eighth most among tight ends on Sunday. Fantasy managers shouldn't panic as Pitts heads into a Week 2 matchup against Tampa. The Bucs gave up nine catches to Dallas tight ends in Week 1.
