TE Mark Andrews, BAL (1 Viewer)

How big is the trade market for Andrews?

I agree he is not 'washed' but also that he is not peak Andrews either. He is arguably an upgrade at TE for many teams, and an acquiring team would only take a $3.5M cap hit for the rest of the season. These are the positives.

What would the Ravens require in trade, a 2026 3rd? If they don't get that much, isn't he more valuable to them in their push to recover their season and make the playoffs? But is an acquiring team willing to give a 3rd for a rental for the remainder of 2025? He is more valuable this season to a playoff team with a need at TE than to a non-playoff team. But how many playoff teams would get a meaningful upgrade by trading for Andrews, especially considering it would take some time for him to adjust to the new offense and gain chemistry with his new QB?

The acquiring team could intend to sign him to a contract extension, which could change the value proposition. But Andrews probably would not sign for an amount he believes is below his market value, preferring to hit the UFA market in March. So how likely is an acquiring team to extend him?

Add it all up, and I doubt there are many teams with serious interest.

In the offseason, I wanted the Chargers to trade for him. Not now, with Gadsden having unexpectedly emerged.
I would assume at best he would return a pick swap. maybe a 4th for a 5th

If true, IMO it seems more valuable for the Ravens to keep him, assuming that they are intent on making the playoffs.

Sorry to a warrior TE but it's time
Have to disagree here. Lot of good football left in him. Probably not with the Ravens though.
Will be interesting to see where he ends up next year. I still think there's an outside chance BAL resigns him
If the Ravens resign him, Likely will leave at the end of the year when he becomes a FA.
I'm sure they'll miss his 2 receptions per game... ;)

Just kidding, Likely may indeed be the future and they may very well resign him and let Andrews walk. But I don't think it's a foregone conclusion, they do have over $50MM in cap space next year and can free up a boatload if they restructure or extend Lamar ($51MM base salary) or some other high number guys. Would suck for fantasy, but I can even see a scenario where they resign both of them. It's not like TE salaries are all that high comparatively speaking to other premier positions. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Hamilton's eventually extension is close to both Andrews & Likely's new contracts combined and safety isn't even one of the highest paid positions.
I was going to say the same.

From the outside we can imagine both of them wanting to be the #1 guy, and one of them leaves because of it.
But this is a consistently winning franchise that I imagine hard working players want to be a part of. And TE Rooms seem to be notoriously supportive of the corps and the team, so I can see them both staying as well.
Replying to myself to support my and others points that he’d want to STAY in Baltimore due to the history of winning there.

Andrews just signed a 3 year extension (as per a Sleeper update I just got)

Do they, though? There's a good chance Likely goes somewhere else and becomes the TE1 of said team. I'd say that's even more "likely" than him sticking around in Baltimore waiting another 3 years to get his chance to start...

[Garafolo] Sources: #Ravens TE Mark Andrews has agreed to terms on a three-year, $39.3 million extension that includes $26m guaranteed. The franchise’s all-time leading receiver, who was slated to be a free agent, stays in Baltimore in a deal done by Justin Schulman of @AthletesFirst.

It's fantastic news for Likely owners. Baltimore is not conducive to reliable fantasy production for pass catchers. Likely gets a chance to be the featured TE for another team this coming offseason.

Andrews' owners win big. With Likely out of the way, Andrews could become a FF stud again. I'm curious about the dynamics of the signing, but him and Lamar are best friends so that could've had something to do with it.

Not sure about Likely now. He could be one of those guys who are more coveted by FFers than NFL teams. Likely can disappear at times so we'll have to see how much money he gets and what his situation will be.

Possibly, but not sure his decline is primarily attributable to Likely cutting into his work.

It may very well be injuries/age/wear and tear that have sapped his production. I think he’ll still remain a useful fantasy asset into next year, but IMO his stud days of high receptions/yards are in the past. TDs may still be there, but very unpredictable.

I don't think Baltimore would've given Andrews the contract they did if they thought he was getting close to being washed. That fake Tush Push for a TD showed he's still got his wheels (not that it's his game).

Andrews' ability to get into the EZ is what will keep him FF relevant. He's got a knack for scoring in the RZ and it'll be amplified with Likely gone.

I believe the winner is whoever stayed in Baltimore with how they/Lamar use the TE. Andrews is the clear winner right now until we see what happens with Likely.

The Ravens could've simply thought Andrews is the better player. The rest of the NFL might think the same. We'll know a lot more when we see what kind of contract Likely gets and where he ends up. It wouldn't surprise me if Likely goes to a situation where he's 2nd fiddle again. More teams are going to 12 personnel, not to mention the Rams using a lot of 3-TE sets.

I don’t disagree but I think he’ll be a more valuable NFL player than a fantasy maven in the future. This NFL value - and probably rewarding one of the best players in franchise history - may also reflect why he got paid.

They don’t use the TE’s the same as they did under Roman. Kind of mid now.

Maybe that will change if Henry and Lamar slow down and can’t run as much then again that’s sort of how the last few weeks have looked and it’s been spotty.

I can see that, but I also believe there's a decent chance Andrews thrives again without Likely. Some of it depends on Lamar, too.

Some of it? More like most of it.

There’s a non-zero chance that Likely stays in Baltimore as well for the same reason stated above (preference to stay in a stable organization with a consistent winning track record). And, as others have just said, maybe he’s more fantasy-valuable ( though not so much lately) than NFL-valuable. I just looked at Likely’s stats this year and he’s basically just getting 2-3 targets a game, so it’s not like he’s lighting it up besides a few outlier games (don’t roster him anywhere so not aware of his week to week performances besides just glancing at recent stats on his FBG players page)

Seconded.

Rarely has a signing angered me more. This only extends the purgatory that is owning Isaiah Likely in Dynasty.

In a recent start-up I drafted Likely and traded for Andrews. My belief was that Baltimore would move on from Andrews next year, and Andrews would have a career resurgence with fresh scenery.

Now it’s just a TEBC from hell.

As noted above, Likely will probably be moving on in FA. Just unclear if NFL teams view him as valuable as the dynasty community does.

Yeah, hopefully Likely goes to a situation where he can be a starter. Few places have been better than Baltimore.

He has to be a sought after asset, no? Chiefs come immediately to mind. Kelce gonna let them know about retirement - I don’t see KC giving the reins to Gray. Possible I guess. KC is in a shrinking window. #1 landing spot for Likely FF shareholders.

Baltimore was a sweet TE spot but it's not really anymore. Average usage, less then average IMO when you consider talent to usage ratio. Grass is not always greener, but I like his odds to find something as good or better.

No one can convice me based on the stuff Decosta and Harbaugh said this off-season that there intention was not to extend him. I feel like that's more fact then opinion. My guess is they tried with Likely, but when things stalled out they extended Andrews instead so they'd not head into the off-season with no TE's under contract. Either way I just hope he hits FA, something tells me this is not going to make them stop trying to extend him or even tag him.

I think he will easily be considered the top TE in FA but there are some potential good olds availalbe, like Goedert and Njoku, which could work against him a little maximizing his pay but if I think he'll beat what Andrews got today when it's all said and done.

A lot of places he'd fit and KC with Kelce retiring would be a boon. Ideal for his skillset. Assuming McDaniels returns the Dolphins could come to mind as a team with a major need and potential sweet spot for Likely when you consider what he did with Jonnu, though Tyreek made life easier for everyone. He's got a pretty diverse skill set, will fit in a lot of places well that would also look great for his fantasy outlook.

I don't know. Happy for Andrews. But, my gut says the Ravens retain Likely. At least one more year.

The only way I see Likely coming back is if he tests the market and finds out no one is offering more than the Ravens. Certainly possible, but have to think there is at least one team that will pay him more - even if not breaking the bank - with a chance for him to be a full-time starter.

Likely owners mourn

I will if they extend or tag him, but otherwise I’d prefer this.

Hand him a bag and pair him with Jayden Daniels. To the moon.
Give up on Ben Sinnott already?
Redskins have.

Likely has to be out of there next year. Every team needs two TE's but Likely has to test the market and see what he can get as a pass receiving TE and the possiblity as a top TE. To extend Andrews in season at 30 years old says that they want him to retire as a Raven. From what I read Andrews is a good all around TE so the blocking doesn't drop off too much.

Fair point - the team’s identity is run first and I don’t see that changing even if Henry hits the wall next year. I don’t have the stats to back it up, but guessing they like Andrews much more as a blocker than Likely.

Loved him
He's done
He's kind of in the way if Likely is the real deal.

Was he cut? :)

As far as I recall, Baltimore has always liked running more than one TE but all the passing went through Andrews up until Likely sort of emerged. Kolar is a waldman fave. I don't know if Likley's blocking is all that. I can see Baltimore drafting another TE and rolling with Andrews-Kolar-draft guy if they let Likley sign elsewhere. I can see him fitting in Miami if he can be had for reasonable $. I don't know Baltimore's cap situation but they typically draft well.

It always thought that the 107 catch, 1361 yard 2021 was probably his high water mark but never imagined that he would tread water as being a TD dependent back end TE1.

Definitely his high water mark by a huge amount:

Some folks still seem to view him as that guy rather than a solid TE dependent guy he’s morphed into since that magical season.

IIRC Kolar is a FA as well. One of the things I mentioned earlier in thread when I thought Andrews might get resigned was that all 3 of the Ravens guys were FA's this year.

:sadbanana:
As noted above, Likely will probably be moving on in FA. Just unclear if NFL teams view him as valuable as the dynasty community does.
My thinking is not only no doubt but so does Likely and his reps and that's why they signed Andrews and not him.

Kyle Pitts is a FA as well assuming the Falcons don't resign him. Obviously he's been a disappointment compared to his draft status but I imagine some team would love to see if they can unlock his potential.

I don't know. Happy for Andrews. But, my gut says the Ravens retain Likely. At least one more year.
The team likes both guys. The team is better with both. You also don't hear either one complaining as they are both great teammates.

Only fantasy owners upset and rightfully so but this is a reminder - just because you draft a guy (one or the other) doesn't mean the other guy is bad, or sucks or one should get more reps/targets than another.

Teams are in it to win it. Having talented players like Andrews and Likely is good thing. I also know they like Kolar who is a very good TE.

It does look like Likely is a FA next year so maybe we see some movement. I wouldn't be surprised though if they resign him too.

I missed him, agree some teams might like to tap into his potential though I think he's been available via trade if anyone felt that strongly about it.

I would add that does not change the fact I think if Likely hits the open market he's easily the prized FA TE. Just a more multi-faceted player. Actually grades out well as a blocker if you are into that kind of thing(higher then Andrews last year), really good RAC ability and can win downfield a little. These traits make him adaptable to any scheme and why I think we could make a very lengthy list of teams that would be really good for him.

They would have to be very generous to Likely, because other teams will.

Ravens could franchise tag Likely for $15.8M next year. Seems pretty reasonable, a lot more reasonable than the $25M or so it might cost to franchise Linderbaum.
