TE Zach Ertz, WAS (1 Viewer)

Mentioned this earlier: Concussions generally aren't GTDs. If he hasn't cleared the protocol by Sunday morning, he's not playing. Conversely, if he has, it means he's fine and you can start him without reservations. My guess is we'll know either way by tomorrow.
Well this turned out to be wrong. My suspicion is that they're holding out hope because it's such an important game, otherwise they would have already rules him out. In other words, the fact that it's Sunday morning and there's no good news yet means he's probably out.

Do we think there is any point in waiting it out then plugging Burton as opposed to plugging Rudolph or Cook in the 1:00 games? Which is the better play? Any hope left for Ertz or all but gone?

If your fallback is someone in a 1:00 game like Rudolph or Anderson, I wouldn't risk it. But if you have ASJ/RSJ/Burton, no reason not to wait for final word at 3:30. But I wouldn't choose an inferior option just to retain flexibility.

Another consideration for Ertz owners: Next week @NYG. Horrible vs. TEs.

I have a bye this week but grabbed Burton anyway. Ertz has now missed a couple games now. Concerning. Hate carrying 2 TEs, but Burton is more than just insurance in this offense.

In a standard that doesn't require TE, I flexed him out for Josh Gordon.  Have a feeling he doesn't play, but would have expected him to already be ruled out...

Started Doyle over Ertz (our ww closed last wk)

It's a ####### blizzard

I'm ####ed  :lmao:

Burton coming through again.

PHI has the easiest schedule for TEs in weeks 15-16. I feel pretty comfortable with him as a cuff for Ertz but I also have to imagine Ertz comes back next week. The fact that he's having dull headaches is def a bit concerning though.

I got too cute and started RSJ instead of Burton and I was all full of myself when Celek caught the first TD... I hate fantasy football sometimes.

Yeah so how do we feel about Ertz without Wentz? It's going to be an obvious downgrade but how big? Ertz and Foles have obviously played together in 2013 and 14 and the sample size is rather large but Ertz wasn't as large a part of the offense back then, he entered the league in 2013.

Starting with confidence.

Zach Ertz caught 7-of-9 targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' Super Bowl 52 win over the Patriots.

Ertz chipped away at the Patriots’ linebacker coverage with chain-moving catches, then scored a diving 11-yard touchdown catch to give Philly a 38-33 lead they went on to keep in a thrilling, 41-33 shootout finish. Ertz was the best value pick tight end in 2017 fantasy drafts, keeping his catches (74) and yards (824) in line with previous norms but scoring eight touchdowns in a breakout offense with Carson Wentz. At age 27, Ertz has settled in as one of the NFL’s premier receiving tight ends. Along with Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce, Ertz will be a top-three tight end pick in 2018 fantasy drafts.

Zach Ertz hauled in 10-of-14 targets for 112 yards in the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Titans.

It is about what we have come to expect from Ertz, who now has at least 10 targets in every game this season. The Titans simply had no answer for him as he consistently made plays across the middle on the way to his first 100-yard game of the season. With Wentz looking better every week, Ertz will remain a high-end TE1 as long as he is healthy.

Sep 30 - 6:33 PM

Zach Ertz caught 7-of-9 targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' Week 6 win over the Giants.

The nine targets were actually Ertz's fewest of the season. That's how consistently he's been used. The score was his second in as many games. He dusted Janoris Jenkins in the end zone. Ertz will be a cinch top-three tight end for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Oct 12 - 12:00 AM

Zach Ertz caught 14-of-16 targets for 145 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10 against the Cowboys.

It was the best game of a dominant season for Ertz. The Cowboys left Ertz wide open down the seam for a 15-yard touchdown in the third quarter for his first touchdown, and he scored his second TD on a goal-line throw from Carson Wentz. Ertz has been one of the most consistent tight ends in the league with 70 yards or a touchdown in 8-of-9 games. He'll be a top-five play for a matchup with the Saints in Week 11.

Surprisingly quiet in this thread for a guy dominating the league at the TE position.  Absolute money in PPR leagues.  It is like having a WR1 as your TE.

No kidding. At the end of games in garbage time (or desperation time), Ertz is the only player Wentz looks for. He doesn't even look anywhere else.

As a new dynasty owner who just hastily slapped a Friday night deal together for him a few days ago, I'll be happily be keeping this post on the front page. ?

I know Kelce is consensus TE1, but he's already 29. Wheels could come off in a year or two. Ertz I feel has 3-5 years of top end production left. I had a chance to go after both at similar cost and Ertz was no brainer for me.

So glad I drafted this guy, 4.01 after drafting M. Gordon, K. Hunt, T Y Hilton.
Yeah, he's quite good (going for the understatement here).

Wentz loves him some Ertz, so no reason the targets won't be plentiful every week.  The last drive was all Ertz.  Shows who he trusts to get open in key situations.

Only wish I had him on even one team.

So glad that I drafted Gronk over him (redraft).

Ertz is a true lesson in the development of a tight end.  I own him in dynasty (yardage light, TD-heavy league).  Drafted him because of the hype, and for his first 4 years--EVERY YEAR--I heard, "Oh, this is his year to break out."  And he never really did (at least getting into the end zone).  Then last year happened.  Now this year is happening.  I seriously almost dealt him after Year 4.  PHEW!!!!

Zach Ertz caught 9-of-10 targets for 83 yards in the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Redskins.

He was the best player on the field once again, leading the team in catches and targets. Golden Tate and Jordan Matthews happened to be the red-zone beneficiaries in this one, however, catching short touchdowns from Carson Wentz. Ertz did set the new single-season franchise record for catches and has four games to add to it. He'll be a top-three TE1 next week at Dallas.

Dec 3 - 11:39 PM

Zach Ertz (ankle) was upgraded to full participation at Thursday's practice.

As expected, Ertz will be good to go Sunday against Houston. His 101 catches this year are a franchise record. Even against one of the league's better defenses, Ertz belongs in all fantasy lineups.

NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt believes Zach Ertz's targets will "likely go down" in 2019.

It's closer to "very likely" given the Eagles' pass-catching additions and Dallas Goedert's projected ascendance. Last year, Ertz saw 156 targets, the most at the position since targets were tracked. Rosenblatt believes Ertz will "likely still lead the team in targets/receptions, and maybe even touchdowns" but it's safe to project less production in 2019. Ertz is being drafted in the third round of fantasy drafts.

Zach Ertz caught 8-of-16 targets for 72 yards in Week 2 against the Falcons.

Ertz racked up targets with Dallas Goedert, DeSean Jackson, and Alshon Jeffery all leaving with injuries. He was banged up late in the fourth quarter but managed to stay in the game. The Eagles don't have any tight ends behind Ertz, so they may have to sign someone if Goedert can't return next week. Given all the injuries, Ertz is looking at another heavy workload in Week 3.

Zach Ertz caught 7-of-8 targets for 65 yards in the Eagles' Week 4 win over the Packers.

Ertz owners could only watch as Dallas Goedert cashed in a red zone look for a three-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Ertz's biggest impact scoring play came when he was called for OPI on a six-yard Alshon Jeffery TD. A horrendous call, it was thankfully overturned on review. Even with DeSean Jackson sidelined, Ertz has managed a modest 11 grabs for 136 scoreless yards over the past two weeks. It's possible he gets passed into the big three at tight end by Evan Engram. The Eagles host the Jets for Week 5.

Zach Ertz caught 5-of-7 targets for 57 yards and one touchdown in Philadelphia's Week 5 win over the Jets.

Ertz manhandled Philadelphia's lone touchdown through the air, fighting off one-on-one coverage on an 11-yard grab over the middle of the field to send the Eagles into the half nursing a three-score lead. His 57 receiving yards ultimately finished as a team-high since Wentz was only asked to toss for 82 second-half yards in a blowout victory. Even with DeSean Jackson (abdomen) sidelined the past three weeks, Ertz has totaled a subpar 16/193/1 as Philadelphia's go-to option. He'll be a borderline Top 5 tight end in Week 6 against the Vikings assuming Jackson's back.
