Consensus around Bh6 as black. Any other thoughts?

Nd6+ is my first thought here.
I now like our position in both games. Based upon earlier analysis, I think this was a mistake for them.
Need to work out a response to Ne4.Nd6+ Bxd6kutta said:They moved Nc5 in our white game.

not hearing anything else, I intend to move.Consensus around Bh6. Any other thoughts?

I think Ra7 will do it for them.White
What about:
21. Nxc5 Bxc5
22. Rf1 O-O (or Rf8)
23. Rdf3
They cannot protect the f pawn here.
Bh6 moved as black. This should be interesting.....not hearing anything else, I intend to move.Consensus around Bh6. Any other thoughts?

Ok. Let's come up with our best idea here.kutta said:They moved Nc5 in our white game.

Do you mean Kd7? Can't we follow with Bg4, protecting our rook?Nd6, Bxd6Need to work out a response to Ne4.Nd6+ Bxd6kutta said:They moved Nc5 in our white game.

Rxd6, Bb7
Bf2, Ne4

This looks really good, but I don't see how we don't lose material with Ke7.
Yes. Kd7. I think they just take our rook with their pawn thenDo you mean Kd7? Can't we follow with Bg4, protecting our rook?Nd6, Bxd6Rxd6, Bb7Need to work out a response to Ne4.Nd6+ Bxd6Rxd6 Bd7 (what other response here for black)kutta said:They moved Nc5 in our white game.

We Are only down 2 pawns. If we can win a pawn while attacking I think that bodes well for usWhite
I haven't had a chance to look yet (been out all day) but I wouldn't want to make a move just to gain a pawn. We're already down significantly in pawns so I think we need to go on the offensive. If we take a pawn and end up in better position, that would be enough. Tactics alone just to gain a free pawn won't help us I think. Too late for that.
Bf2 would be check and they would have to move the king, wouldn't they?Nd6, Bxd6Need to work out a response to Ne4.Nd6+ Bxd6kutta said:They moved Nc5 in our white game.

They might trade for our c pawn:White

How about Rf6 then iinstead of Rc3?How about nxn, bxn, rf1, rf8, rc3?
I think we win a pawn and we allow our rook to get close to the 7th rank. If we can get it there, we can gang up on their f pawn. They would get out g pawn by eventually playing Bb7.
ETA: well it looks like them playing Bb4 after Rc3 is a winner for them.
If we play Rc3, can't they play Bb4 and pin our rook to our king? Also, might they play O-O instead of Rf8?How about Rf6 then iinstead of Rc3?How about nxn, bxn, rf1, rf8, rc3?

Yes, see my edit above. The Bb4 move screws us.If we play Rc3, can't they play Bb4 and pin our rook to our king? Also, might they play O-O instead of Rf8?How about Rf6 then iinstead of Rc3?How about nxn, bxn, rf1, rf8, rc3?

I agree.I think we agree on nxn. We need to explore the right order of our Rook moves on the f file after they take with B. Any other thoughts?
I agree Nxn is the move here. We can talk Rook strategy after they take with the bishop.I think we agree on nxn. We need to explore the right order of our Rook moves on the f file after they take with B. Any other thoughts?
Yeah, I miscounted something there. I like your h pawn idea.I think Ra7 will do it for them.White

I agree with you O. This has been a blast. We want to also put pressure on g file. Use of our g and h pawns will be key, along with rooks. I think this is a close game, but we have some interesting ideas to develop. Advancing their a pawn is the least of their thoughts at this time. I am enjoying this more than the tournament to be honest.

Moving Nxc5
I think they can move their queen and give up the exchange or push the pawn and be really screwed.Bh6 must have them shuked. I think their response is forced. They have to push the pawn, don't they?

Oh yeah. When I get to my computer I'll pass along the latest. It's been crickets for awhile.Kutta, lack of snide e-mails about the time we're taking to move :noted:.
