Why will they not be able to resign these players? I'm not sure I'd want to pay Jones what he may want...but why can't they? Also, Braves need a little pitching help no? Looks to me like they have a great 1-2 combo, a solid #3 and then what (including bullpen)Well, at least they got a LH reliever, I guess. Here is the deal, though: They won't be able to resign Andruw after this year, won't be able to resign Tex after next year...Chipper will be about done, and they won't have a 3b, 1b, or CF.Short term solution if you ask me. I'd do it if we had the pitching to win it this year or next -- but we don't.
The offense is going to be scary.

is this enough for the Braves to bypass the Mets?
not unless the Braves add a 3rd SPChuck James could be that, but he kills the bullpen by throwing 100 pitches in 5 innings

This guy knows things.EDIT: Though I do like AAA prospect Brent Lillibridge more long-term than Esco. But that giving up Escobar for Arroyo IMO isn't really a good option.
Its a good deal but we still need SP. Ring is a hard throwing lefty with a high # of K's but also struggles mightily with walks. Essentially, a McBride clone.EDIT: Unless we send Ring down to the minors, we will have to cut yet another person from the roster.
Sadly, the trade was finalized only 90 minutes before the deadline so Tex wont be in the lineup.
