Texans RB situation and implications (real-world and fantasy) (1 Viewer)

Foster is garbage. It really sucks most for kids to become fans of a guy that just stops caring like him, but it happens. He doesn't care about football.

too risky to trade for Foster in a keeper league? any update on his injury? TRich is killing me and I'm thinking about dealing him and another piece for Foster/Tate.

I wouldn't be too worried about him in a keeper league. For this year, he might be pretty useless, though. Hammy->back injuries can take a long time to heal. Once you hurt one part of the posterior chain, it's easy to injury others due to overcompensating/favoring the injured muscle.

How long did he miss practice in pre-season due to the back?

Any word on how Tate felt after the game playing with broken ribs?
Tate said he was in "serious pain" after the game but later reports say he's almost certainly going to go again vs. ARI this week. He knows opportunities such as this are going to be few and far between and plans to tough it out regardless.

IMO, it was damn clear that he was in pain as the game progressed vs. IND. Still, I was very impressed with what he was able to do after questioning just how effective he'd be all week. Could you imagine what he would have done with his ribs intact?

ARI's defense is legit however (allowing 2nd least points to RBs this year). That coupled with the fact that we may see more of Johnson (and whoever else they choose to activate next week) and the fact that I don't foresee Tate catching many balls in the flat as it leaves him exposed to blatant rib shots and I wouldn't feel comfortable treating him as anything more then a flex in standard leagues this week.

Still, Ben Tate is a warrior. That's for sure.

Yeah I don't know what a Skypager is, but thanks to this guy, you can be assured I won't every pay a nickel for it.

The Aryan Foster stock news broke just before the Chiefs game. Since the Chiefs game, he has sucked the big one. Coincidence? Not a chance. He doesn't care about football anymore. Look at his website, it's obvious.

I could be wrong. Please limit the name calling and insults. It's just my opinion on Foster, not any of you. Let's keep this about football, or at least people on football teams, not about posters on this message board.

Sucked? Hes been injured since BEFORE the Cheifs game.

(Rotoworld) Arian Foster was held out of Thursday's practice with a sore hamstring, but "will play" in Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

And Thursday is the most important practice leading to a Sunday game.

If you didnt have other options and make other arrangements, that's on you for not understanding how a hammy or groin injury work in the real world.

Sorry buddy, I meant the Rams game.

He had 198 yards in the Rams game.

any insight into why they went with Dennis Johnson as the backup?

It seems Deji was #3 in preseason and would have the most experience to pair with Case...

Seemed like a strange choice....

You've said this before, specifically to me in a thread which I can't recall right now. The problem is, you make it very hard since a very large majority of your posts are complete and utter garbage void of anything even remotely substantive. ####, I did it again.

lol ya I dunno what you are talking about. You clearly don't follow the Texans.
Dude quits for minor injuries. I think he's all about making cash, and his stock is more important than his football.
If he can't get it done on the field why would Under Armour, EA Sports or anyone pay him do anything? Seems to me that all the "other" money he could make is directly tied with being a good NFL player. I doubt the stock offering is going to happen anymore with the season he's having.

This was really a shock to most Texans fans as well. I haven't heard anything from the coaches, my only "guess" is that perhaps Johnson was in better shape considering he was on a roster and Karim was on the street.

They are paying him to look fresh in his gear and recite 2 lines. It's not like he has to play football for that.

He has to play football to be relevant to the target audience of the company trying to sell products.

I guess I missed it when Cedric Benson made a lot of $ just looking fresh and reciting lines.

What value would you guys give Tate going forward? I've been trying to trade him to the Foster owner but he isn't biting, at least not for anything of value.

It also seems strange that there is such a dearth of information on the trio of new backs considering how banged up the two lead dogs are...

Benson doesn't look fresh

Have Tate for this year and next. Probably not starting him this week ,three weeks removed from broken ribs and a good run defense in AZ. BUT, the next few weeks if Foster is out long term....

Oak

Jax

NE

Jax

Nice run there. So yeah get him now. I don't like the way his Foster thing is progressing.
