One more boy out!
The why I read was so as not to interrupt the progress. The Thai Prime Minister has postponed his planned visit today. No word on why or when it is rescheduled for, if ever
Which makes complete senseThe why I read was so as not to interrupt the progress.
Bad credit? Did she borrow from the mob?Need to find the article - a woman in 2007 was the loan survivor in a Thai cave expedition similar to what happened here - with water rushing in.
She was talking about what the boys may be feeling

The word hero gets thrown around a lot. Like a lot lot. But these rescue workers are truly deserving of being called heroes. The pressure has to be absolutely relentless. As a parent of 4 I can’t imagine the emotions seeing your boy come walking out. I tear up just thinking about these kids - if it were my own son I would be a mess.
God bless these divers/rescue workers, amazing work they have done.
It’s amazing to me that we (humans) not only have people that are skilled to do these types of things but that they are so willing to do it. These type of events always remind me how much good there is in humanity - sure I read the PSF and occasionally the SP so I know there’s a lot of bad but I wish we could focus on the good we as humans do more often. The word hero gets thrown around a lot. Actually, I am not sure these emotions are in play. From the piece I recently read, the authorities aren't releasing the names of the folks being rescued. The families are all in the dark as to who is out and who isn't. It sounds like all the parents are still at the cave entrance. As a parent of 3, I can't imagine knowing that one of my kids was stuck in the cave but now may or may not be. It seems like a super cruel lottery right now.As a parent of 4 I can’t imagine the emotions seeing your boy come walking out. On top of all that ... any of these volunteer divers could've found a good reason that they couldn't drop everything and come to Thailand at just this moment. And no one would have questioned it.The word hero gets thrown around a lot. Like a lot lot. But these rescue workers are truly deserving of being called heroes. The threat of monsoon rains re-flooding the cave is not as acute as previously feared, according to Johannes Sander of the Munich base industrial weather forecasters Sander and partner.
In an email he said rainfall today was mostly in foothills away from the cave and tomorrow will see less rain.
He writes: “Monsoon rain patterns are very local. On Wednesday strong rainfall will happen about 30km or 50km north of the Tham Luang region, while the area around the cave will see little precipitation, and even less than today or tomorrow. The lack of signficant rain with support pumping of the flooded caverns.”
I am just an awe of those guys.On top of all that ... any of these volunteer divers could've found a good reason that they couldn't drop everything and come to Thailand at just this moment. And no one would have questioned it.
The ones on the scene performing the rescues ... they've not only volunteered, but have made sacrifices great and small to do so.
I agree. The confluence of skill, courage, and selflessness in humanity is awesome to behold sometimes. Humans truly at their best. It’s amazing to me that we (humans) not only have people that are skilled to do these types of things but that they are so willing to do it. Put me on the opposite side of the fence. I flipped on CNN yesterday and they had ongoing coverage about this story.8 out now. So awesome. Love this story.
If you are into firefighter movies, you should watch Only the Brave.Reminds me of the firefighters that come from all over the world to risk their lives to save people they don't even know.
It's the best kind of thing that humans do.
Wow. Yeah we certainly do disagree.Put me on the opposite side of the fence. I flipped on CNN yesterday and they had ongoing coverage about this story.
I feel like there's a hundred more important things going on at home that are more important than focusing on this story.
It really shows how concerned the news media is for ratings that everything is put on the back burner over 10 or so kids halfway across the world.
I don't see how this is a good story or at all entertainment for us in America. I think it's overall in poor taste to be doing play-by-play commentary on a situation like this.
But hey, that's just one man's opinion.
To each their own!Wow. Yeah we certainly do disagree.
So much of the news, 99% of it, is bad news. You want more bad news, just wait until this story is over, there will be plenty of it. There will always be lots for you to focus on.
This is a rare inspiring feel good story (at least so far) and I can’t get enough of it.
This could've been said of the moon landing as well. Or any other human interest story (Baby Jessica in the well, the release of American hostage in Iran, etc.).I feel like there's a hundred more important things going on at home that are more important than focusing on this story.
God bless those 4 poor, poor children...As a parent of 4 I can’t imagine the emotions seeing your boy come walking out. I tear up just thinking about these kids - if it were my own son I would be a mess.
God bless these divers/rescue workers, amazing work they have done.
It was awesome. If you are into firefighter movies, you should watch Only the Brave.
Wow. I find it rather refreshing to see countries come together to help save people they don't know, not to mention the odds stacked against them in how enormously dangerous it is.Put me on the opposite side of the fence. I flipped on CNN yesterday and they had ongoing coverage about this story.

This is the best approach. Please stop ruining the thread by responding.
And maybe then remember that the Thai boys are brownStuart is Eminence...just remember that...
Honestly, you're a poor taste for treating me like this. I came in here to voice my opinion, not argue with anyone. Please stop ruining the thread by responding.
The righteous indignation from the internet troll. Never gets old.Honestly, you're a poor taste for treating me like this. I came in here to voice my opinion, not argue with anyone.
Learn some respect. We all deserve respect. You're acting like I'm sub-human who doesn't have rights, which makes you the person who should be ignored and vilified.
I'm not a troll though. You're treating me with no respect. I'm a human being. The righteous indignation from the internet troll. Never gets old.
Except that's not what I said, at all. You're bending my words for laughs and to put me down.Imagine wanting to watch more wretched news about how the world is burning down instead of an awesome feel-good story.
I agree. I made one post giving my opinion. Another post agreeing to disagree. Being respectful.More rescue updates, less nonsense. TIA!
I think they are done for the dayMore rescue updates, less nonsense. TIA!
You've made more posts about me than my original two posts in this thread. You've derailed your own thread more than I have, when I was simply giving my opinion.@Joe Bryant

A little help please in getting this thread back to what we all want it to be.
This is kind of like cancelling your Hawaiian vacation because some surfer in South Africa got bitten by a shark. We were going to go on a cave tour in northern Wisconsin in August. Scheduled it in April.
I just can`t do it now and my wife said there is no way in hell she is setting foot inside a cave..I don`t think I will ever set foot inside a cave again after this.
There were talking about the coverage last night and some shrink said many people watch and listen to hear bad news. Then he likened it to the motorcycle jumps last night and said "Many people don`t watch these things to see the jumper succeed..but to see a spectacular crash live."Imagine wanting to watch more wretched news about how the world is burning down instead of an awesome feel-good story.
Sometimes when following the Thai soccer team story, I think of the Apollo 13 rescue. Anyone that's seen the movie: remember that scene when Ed Harris dumped out a box of parts on a table and told the engineers that those things were ALL they had to work with to get the astronauts home?It reminds me of the race to the moon in some respects because it seemed so impossible just a week ago. Humanity can do some really remarkable things when we put our best minds on a problem.
