Can you blame anyone for abandoning the genre, especially when Nevermind came out?
Top 5 album for me. All genres.Start to finish, one of the tops of the genre. I'd argue its way too low on the list, but I'll just be happy it made the list.26. Love that album
Love early TS...I might be alone but don't consider them hair metalI don't mean to be too critical, because I love this thread, but there is not a single album mentioned yet that deserves to be ranked above Stay Hungry.Another ballad that may not get much love here, but I love it, is The Price from Twisted Sister.
Smoke a bowl and turn on some dokken an you will feel a million times betterThe only that sucks more than a hangover is having to make your own eggs because you struck out the night before. We'll get this train rolling again once I recover.
Nugent never bothered me till he went off the reservation in the last 10 years or so, and by then, I was already a fan of those two Damn Yankees albums and a handful or so of his solo songs. His toolish behavior since doesn't make me like those songs any less.Damn Yankees always just seemed like a money grab to me. Coming of Age was a great tune though. I guess I just couldn't get past Ted Nugent, guy is such a tool.
Thanks to this thread I found out Junkyard will be playing in Hollywood next month and I will be seeing them for the first time.
Actually liked Nugent at the time (didn't know/care about his politics but liked #####), but hated the Damn Yankees sellout (IMO).Damn Yankees always just seemed like a money grab to me. Coming of Age was a great tune though. I guess I just couldn't get past Ted Nugent, guy is such a tool.

If you are gonna go with Bon Jovi which you should, Slippery When Wet was the big hair band album. New Jersey actually was done with a tougher edge around it as it released in the middle of the GnR run which I imagine will be somewhere in the top 5 much to my dismay.50. W.A.S.P. – W.A.S.P.

Debut album for legendary front man Blackie Lawless and the boys. When the album was first released they caved to pressure and deleted the song “Animal (**** like a beast)” because some parents added it to a list of filthy songs. It was however, put back on in a 1998 reissue.

As hair as some others...
Tesla's "Love Song" made it into our wedding video as background during a picture montage.I'd put Y&T's "This Time" right up there as maybe "unknown ballad"Most underrated ballad - Desperate by BAbylon aD. Great hook. Saw that last year that were plAying shows on a hair metal cruise ship.
It was the "wedding dance" song for the wife and I![]()

I've used that song as a bathroom break the last 20 or so times I've seen them. The only version of it that I actually liked was the WAAF in-studio version with just Frank, Tommy and Jeff.I'm trying to decide if Tesla's awful cover of "Signs" makes them less hair or more.
A keeper. This thread inspired my hair metal Pandora station debuted to my girlfriend last night on the way to dinner, some of the most fun we've had as a couple.

ETA: her late father loved hair metal, so although she is 31 she knows all the words to many of the songs.
