The Americans (1 Viewer)

Not the greatest season finale I've ever seen.
Can't believe you haven't commented on how lame Henry's porn collection is.
You know how it was in the 80s. Not easy for curious young men.
True but there was always a dad somewhere in the neighborhood who was careless with where he hid his Playboys and OUIs.
That was my dad. Hard to believe, I know. I knew exactly where his stash was and it was Christmas when I was home alone.
My dad didn't even try to hide it. Right under his side of the bed. Which now that I think about it is disturbing.

Manager to Keri telling her he wanted her wet. Jebus.
She seemed like she was into that one....could be a bit of a conflict for her as she starts to crave his style
After a hot passionate kiss from the manager she goes home and bangs her old man..

That wasn't just cause he looked so sexy laying there asleep.

So Thanks for that captain obvious ;)

Can someone refresh my memory on Elizabeth's game with Lisa/Maurice? I know Lisa has clearance at Northrup, but what do she & Maurice think Elizabeth is doing?

Lisa thinks it's the guy "Jack" who is paying Elizabeth for secrets.

Maurice has figured out that the "guy" is "Elizabeth", and called her out on it (to which we didn't get a response) - but he hasn't told Lisa this.

I couldn't remember what it was either. But I don't think it really matters.
Probably not. I'm lost on most of the spy stuff they run. That's not why I like the show anyway.
This is where I am. I love the characters but am pretty lost on what is going on.

What was the envelope that Arkin gave to Felicity?

A tape from her mother

I remember Lisa meeting Jack & Michelle in the restaurant, but have no recollection of them setting up a deal for Lisa to give them info. Slipping in my old age, I guess.

Arkin? I call that guy Saruman.

What is the game with Nina. They obviously kept her in the show because she's absolutely smoking hot. But what are they actually doing with her character. Yakov Smirnoff is going to bang her obviously, but what's her game?

Season finale tonight runs for 71 minutes.

Thank goodness for that!! They have a TON to cover. (Already renewed for S4 BTW, in case anyone didn't know.) My only complaint with this season - and it's been an extremely minor one - is that it went by too quickly and despite all of the multiple operations in which Directorate S was involved, it seems as though more could have happened. Of course, that's one reason why I love this show: its realistic pace. Additionally, they have 71 minutes in which they can deliver more than a few shocks that will completely eliminate my nitpicking.

Nina is just breathtakingly gorgeous. Like a china doll.

I find Nina attractive but not gorgeous. Much prefer Elizabeth.

These shows going x number of minutes over make it tough to record other shows. With 2 shows going past 11pm the 3rd that was going to record at 11 won't record or have to be recorded later. So, this show will be recorded later. Wouldn't have watched it tonight anyway. And Nina>Elizabeth.

So this late development with Elizabeth offering to take Paige to Russia to see her grandmother is going to end up being pretty big, right? They played it as just getting to know her real family, but I think it's tied to the handlers wanting to get her to Russia as part of the recruiting process. There's no way she comes back to the U.S. if she leaves.

Bye Paige!

Why did Phillip remove his disguise in front of Martha?
HOW IN THE #### DID SHE NEVER NOTICE THE GUY WAS WEARING A WIG AND LIKE 14 BOBBY PINS?
Martha did know he wore a wig. She called him on it either last season or the season before.
Oh. So what was with her reaction then?
Amazed at how different he looked? "Wow, it's like 2 different people!"

I think the showrunners said they are setting up multiseason arcs now that they are confident that they'll get renewed. No way they get to all the loose ends tonight.

I disagree. They want her to be seen as a normal American girl so they can get her into a US intelligence agency when she grows up. They'll want her back in her school in the fall.

I'm guessing the plan to get Elizabeth and Paige to Russia starts with them taking that trip to Africa with the church group and then going from there.

If so, there's a slim chance Paige might whine and moan and throw fits about being dishonest with Pastor Tim.

I understand, but the last episode also had that scene with the two KGB handlers in the diner discussing how the previous effort to recruit the American-born child ended with him murdering the whole family. I took that as they might try something different with Paige.

I bet you're a Martha guy.

Martha did know he wore a wig. She called him on it either last season or the season before.
:goodposting: It was at the end of last season when she told him that he didn't have to hide anything from her, and that she even loved his toupee.
Which is why I didn't understand why they dramatized that scene with him taking off the wig so much.

Because he had never taken it off in front of her.. He acted insecure about it enough that he had never taken it off in front of her..

Guessing she always assumed he was bald.. so when he took it off and he was not only not bald, but had black hair instead of blond...

I think it is because he had never let her see him without the disguise before, and he needed to try something desperate to get her to stay and trust him, therefore he revealed his real face.

Meh...sloppy and unrealistic.

If Martha gets killed or disappears that would create a major #### storm. Despite how careful he is, somebody probably saw him hanging around the building over a couple of years...I'm also wondering if there's a paper trail from that church wedding....

Also I think it was kind of gray and he dyed his temples to match. He looked ten years younger without the wig and glasses. Generally when someone takes off a wig you expect them to look older, not younger. And someone a bit frumpy like Martha would probably not only be shocked at the transformation but also maybe wonder why this handsome younger guy is with her.

I took it as a cliffhanger for the finale. Much like when Elizabeth told the old lady in the office all that info, this is made to look like Martha might be in trouble here. Will he kill her? I wouldn't put it past this show.
