I use it. It's great. And I think it's Free. I have iFitness and it looks good, but I haven't been able to hit the gym much lately so I don't know how good it really is.

No more of yesterday’s iPhone killers. The iPhone is somewhat already part of the past, and the company responsible for this is no other than Palm. I don’t think anyone would have believed this scenario to be possible even a month ago. The truth is though, that Palm deserves the credit and a lot of it for their new Pre. It really is an amazing device that includes all the characteristics necessary to make what can be considered the best handset on the planet.

I may be missing something, but I don't see what this phone has to offer that the iPhone doesn't.Also, I think a huge part of the iPhone's success is iTunes and all of the available apps. Can this phone compete with these things?

Copy/paste plus a removable battery for starters. Seems like Palm looked at the Iphone and what it couldn't do then put it in their phone. Plus, they have this:Palm really went all out with Web OS. I guess the two factors that make this OS a huge winner are the “card” interface and Synergy. The card interface allows the user to easily switch between tasks, such as viewing pictures, listening to music, and writing an email. All you do is press the Home button and the device zooms out for you to see all the tasks that are currently open. The coolest part, I think, is the ability to simply swipe one of the open tasks right off the display and by that, close the application. So unlike Symbian for example, in which closing a running app is a whole huge deal, this is completely seamless and could not be easier.

The other big thing that Palm introduced us to with the Pre, is Synergy. It is as it sounds. It basically combines all the different social circles of your life into one easy and basic interface. This includes a layered contact list with contact information from your Outlook, Web email account, Facebook account, and any other place the specific contact has info stored. This also includes a joined calendar and a combined email interface. It just makes things simpler.

I got an email from Best Buy today telling me that they are having a sale this week. Save $50 or $100 on 3G iphones.

The $100 is for Premiere members which I am.

Now I have to decide if I want to make the switch. I dont think its worth it right now. I would have to pay $10 more a month and then another $5 if I wanted 200 txt messages. I pay $20 now for unlimited data and 200 txt messages.

Anyone think its worth it for me to make the switch. The only thing would be for slingbox but thats not out yet

Can't tell from your post but do you already have an Edge iPhone? If so, I say it's not worth the upgrade. We were faced with the same decisionwhen the wife cracked the screen on her iPhone. We brought it to the Mac storeand they said we could have a new Edge iPhone for $199 or get a brand new3G iPhone for the same price. Believe it or not, we decided to stay with theEdge iPhone since it didn't make sense to pay $15 * 12 = $180 more a yearfor a service we were already really happy with. The only thing we don't like is AT&T's cel coverage in our area and upgradingto 3G isn't going to solve that problem.

I have the Gen 1 phone. Thanks for feedback

I've been having problems with Safari as of late. It's been saying server stopped responding and won't load any pages. I've cleared cache, cookies, history. I've rebooted and still problems. It seems to happen less when I switch to Edge. This has never been an issue before but now it happens a few times a day. Anyone experience this? Is it my phone or just the network?

Ive had it on occasion but never too long

Also, anyone update to 2.2?

Any problems or glitches yet
No problems whatsoever other then having to re-jailbreak. Can't tell 2.2.1 really did anything at all.
That's why I haven't updated yet. Don't want to have to go through hassle of jailbreaking again and reinstalling apps.
There is a little app called AptBackup that attaches a list to your iTunes regular backup with a list of the jailbreak software you have. You click on "backup" in the app and it remembers it the next time you backup your phone. Once you've upgraded and re-jailbreak your phone, install this app again and click on "restore" and it will go get all your apps and install them. I tried it once as a test and it works great. If you try it, let me know what you think.

Is it possible that my iphone 3G didn't include a cable to connect to my computer? And if so, am I forced to spend money on buying this connection to upgrade my frimware? I'm a little peeved if so.

it's your wall charger cord, it should detach from the prongs and serve as a USB cable.

:wall: I lost the manual so I never read it, but seriously I would never have thought about detatching the prongs on that 4 inch crap replacement for a charge station. I'll have to check it out when I get home, if it turns out to be the case, thanks for saving me a probably embarassing trip to the apple store.

Yes but it never looked like it changed into a USB port where the prongs were. It is white, about 6 inches long, and rather cheap looking. I don't have it with me so I can't check right now.

Found this site to get free ring tones. ringtones You can either upload a song of yours to create a ringtone or just download one from their DB. Works great with tons of free ring tones.

Your welcome.

There is an app now that allows you to watch NCAA basketball games as long as you are on wifi. I think its 5 bucks for those that are interested

There is a free kindle app and I just downloaded a free book.

Not sure why something that costs $300 is for free for iphone/itouch but it seems legit

Probably because it doesn't come with the actual Kindle.
Yes, but you dont need the kindle because it is delivered to phone instead. I understand making this available to iphone but dont understand why it is for free. I think they would have been able to fetch some money for it, especially since the kindle is so expensive and people buy it

They're paying for the device, not the software. And the software on an iPhone isn't the same thing as using a Kindle. There are other free programs out there that do what the iPhone Kindle program does.So there's really no way they could charge for it and expect to make much money on the program.Where they want to make money is on the ebooks you purchase from Amazon on the free Kindle program.

iS there a way to program the phione so that when you come back to it, it will AlARM you for messages or calls, as it stands it doesnt let me know there are meesages. meaning there are no bbeeps or anything like that

mucho graciass

Another fantastic free ringtone site. here. Make sure under where it says login, you select iphone as phone type. Then when you select a ringtone you want and click download itunes is given as an option.

Your welcome.

AT LAST!

Ahead of Apple’s preview of iPhone OS 3.0 Kevin Rose has revealed some details that he believes will be present in the major iPhone software upgrade.

During the live Diggnation at SXSW in Austin, Texas last Rose gave details of how the iPhone OS 3.0 will integrate copy and paste. According to Rose to copy or cut a word you would press and hold a word and a magnifier bubble would appear, you can then drag “copy boundaries” around what you want to select and then hit either copy or cut.

In addition Rose said that MMS and video recording would not be present in this release nor the ability to run background applications.

Finally Rose made a mention the Palm Pre and how Apple will match all the features of the handset.
