The DD is suggesting Edge at 3.11? (1 Viewer)

I have the 11th pick in a 12 team redraft, and in every mock I do, the DD tells me to take Edge there.

Now, I understand that Edge is a consistent performer, usually above his ADP, but I'm thinking a guy like McFadden would make a better RB2. I'm also thinking that Hightower is looking like he could be the GL/RZ guy. Hell, even Arrington and Shipp were getting GL looks last year over Edge.

I just don't understand why Edge is being rated so highly.

Can a few people who obviously know more than I, fill me in?...

In the DD you have to weigh the VBD recommendation and the ADP (average draft position) as well. In 2007, for some of my leagues, it had Antonio Gates with such a high VBD that he was recommended as a 1st round pick, when his VBD was more rd3/4.

If you want 1300 total yards & 7 TDs Edge is your guy. He's pretty consistent. If you can get him as an RB3 its a steal, but even as a RB2 he's a solid player that wont lose you games. Depending if the guy at the turn has taken 2 RBs, you can probably grab a WR at 3.11 and at 4.02 grab Edge if you want him.

He sure is. Play for a decent team for years without getting to the Super Bowl. Leave them for a big payday with a crappy team. Watch your old team win the SB the very next year.
