The force of nature that is Taylor Swift - New Album coming April 2024 (1 Viewer)

Step 1. Register on her website which takes you to Ticketmaster. There's already a line! Waiting. The time of this 1st registration doesn't matter as long as it's before this 1st registration closes.

Then I'll get an email and >> The email confirmation will tell you that you will get another email on Aug. 8 “confirming next steps.”<<

This could be a fulltime job just getting tickets.

Rock, here's the opener, https://youtu.be/ptznWGs4GKg

Still in the registration line, a waiting in line icon shows I've move 40% toward the goal in about 30 minutes.

Which tickets are likely to have the highest ROI resale?

>>By powering these presales with Verified Fan, we have the best opportunity to get more tickets into the hands of fans who want to attend the show and keep tickets away from bots.<<

Step 1 registration took 47 minutes. On Aug 8, I'll receive an email with next steps. These new tour dates, Miami, NO, Indianapolis, Toronto, will likely sell out fast. The only big star concert I've attended was Madonna in the old Orange Bowl back in 1987, a gift from a friend.

Capitalism, no? There's a risk of losing money.
I begrudge no one who makes money on a resell. It's not your job to save someone else money.

I also think the existence of meter maids is reasonable, but I don't necessarily want a live blog of their day. 😏

Do keep us posted.
Definitely.

Who doesn't root for a ticket scalper?
Capitalism, no? There's a risk of losing money.
Given the demand of this tour, there is zero chance of you losing money in the deal. I don't endorse scalping (the bots who grab the tickets and sell them on Stubhub for 20x their face value can burn in hell), but if you secure tickets and want to sell them, someone will pay good money for them.

Stories out there that Taylor cut checks for$100,000 for crew members of her American tour.

$55 mill in total, more than most tours gross
Yep, she is awesome. She sure knows how to take care of people. All the truck drivers on her tour got bonuses of 100K as well. I love stories like that.

from what i just saw on teh tiktoks this morning, it were actually 200k, along with a personal letter from Ms. Swizzle.

do you know how I'm going to use the $?
Why would I possibly care about that?

I'm more talking about "professional" scalpers (using bots to get half of the tickets available while fans are left hanging) who are leaches, than a one off guy like you, and add nothing to society.

If the band/venue sets a price for it's fans, why should some one else be allowed to take advantage by gaming the system? No talent ***-clowns. They are not performing a service.

I'll admit I felt a little bad selling our tickets. Scalping is greasy. But I gave my daughters the choice of seeing Taylor in Seattle, or selling their tickets, having 2K each in the bank, and seeing Noah Kahan in Vancouver. They both chose the latter. Oldest daughter is using the money to help with Europe next summer, and Youngest daughter has an all-inclusive in Mexico with a bunch of her friends during the reading break in February.

We didn't buy the tickets with any intent to sell them, but it was difficult to hold onto them when we saw how much people were paying for them.

I’m really referring to the professional scalpers as I said. I still have some issues with selling for a profit as an individual - personally I’d rather give the tickets away - but understand your thought process and I’m not criticizing “one off” situations like this.

And I still am not sure why I should care what the seller is doing with their profits - unless they’re donating to some charity or something.

I’ll put it this way, The Pretenders announced a show at a small venue by me. I was 330 something in cue when they went on sale. Tickets were $49. The show sold out in five minutes and five minutes later there were tickets for resale for $350.

I might have actually paid that to go to the show if that was the actual price of the tickets but I’m surely not paying it to line some scumbag’s pockets. It shouldn’t even be legal really - leaches are no longer valuable in society.

My sister-in-law got tickets for the tour's opening night via the lottery. Paid face value. I forget the obscene number she said she could've gotten for them if she sold them...Whatever it was, I basically called her an idiot for not selling them for that. For a 20-someting, it was a substantial chunk of money.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but there isn't a concert in existence I'd pay 4 figures to see. My wife has major regrets not trying to get tickets to the tour when it was in our area - but I guess she just found out T. Swift is coming back for some other dates after the Int'l tour, so my wife swore she'd go. I hope I can convince her to go solo - The only thing worse than paying $1,000+ for tickets to a show is paying $1,000+ for tickets to a show I'm only marginally interested in. To each their own I guess...

Not everyone has the "money over everything" attitude. Getting tickets for this show for face value is a blessing. I got mine for Nashville for face value and had a blast at the show. The money I could have gotten for them would have been spent on stuff I would have forgotten about within minutes. For music fans, the experience of a great concert, no matter who the artist is, is far more valuable than some quick easy cash.

She's got 6 shows at SoFi and it's all anyone wants to talk about. Good for the local economy I guess.
I get that it can be annoying to hear about it if you're not a fan. It's why so many dislike Duke and the Yankees; it gets tiring to see the same team/person winning if you're not a fan and then having to hear about it. I worked with a guy once who said how annoying it was to hear about Thriller non-stop in 1982/1983 when all he and his buddies wanted to do was rock.

Remember when people used to get arrested for scalping tickets? Mike Damone coulda gotten busted but because it's now Ticketmaster everything is a-ok.

Is scalping Taylor Swift tickets like selling beanie babies at inflated prices on ebay? There's a movie about the Beanie Babies Bubble.

Or maybe not. A 14 day family vacation in Hawaii has more value to me and is something that I would probably cherish a lot more than a single concert. I really like Taylor Swift, but I take the holiday every time.

Befitting a sermon on sexuality at my church two weeks ago, the contemporary band offered up Swift’s Illicit Affairs. Wow, what an excellent song!

The Aztecs packed stadiums to watch them rip the hearts out of living beings.

Just...you know...selling out things doesn't make one likable to history, just historically likable.

I get that, but we all value things differently, and calling someone an idiot, as someone else did above, because they value something more than you (the general "you") do reeks of someone not grasping that concept.

I agree with you. We would have gone and saw Taylor even if the tickets doubled or tripled in price. But we reached our threshold of 'what other memorable events' could we do with this money. I don't begrudge anyone for holding onto their tickets or selling them. Our friends went to the concert. We sold our tickets.

I went Monday night with my family including Mrs. Smails, my 2 daughters and their husbands. Was worth every penny. I paid $500 per ticket after being waitlisted for all the original LA shows but then getting the code when she added Monday night. Terrific seats. VIP tickets so we breezed through the entrance/security. Never took longer than a few minutes to get to the bathroom or get a drink, which is important since she was on for 3 1/2 hours.

Man she is impressive. I've been to many Stadium concerts but this one felt intimate. Coulda been playing to a 2,000 seat club. She just connects with her audience. Stamina off the charts. She just did not stop, going from one song to another. All while doing umpteen quick costume changes. From all the screaming you hear from fans on TikTok videos, that wasn't an issue. Could hear Taylor perfectly clear. Stage was unreal. Everything was perfectly run. SoFi hasn't been the greatest for concerts. I don't know if was the Taylor pull through or not, but everyone upped their game to give a great experience.

She is a great story teller. Not the usual lazy lyrics you hear in most catchy pop songs. All Too Well is a masterpiece. Her voice has really improved. Total performer on stage with facial expressions that speak to her songs. And from day 1 nobody in entertainment has built a loyal fanbase like hers. Mastered social media. Authentic with fans and she is greatly rewarded for it. She could break every touring record known to man if she wanted to.

My daughters are there tonight. They FaceTimed me about an hour ago. Super excited.
How much were their tickets?

Well said, especially about how she connects with her audience. It's uncanny.

I was super impressed with the sound as well when I saw her in Nashville. The volume was perfect and everything was crystal clear, even when she spoke to the crowd. You could understand everything she was saying, and she knows just what to say to work the crowd up into a frenzy or bring them down in preparation for what is coming next.

At this point, I just laugh at the haters. She delivers on all levels, and has reached a status few ever have, but there will always be dopes on the internet who want to hate, hate, hate.

Also, glad you and your family had a good time!

On the waitlist, so almost no chance to get tickets. A couple of nieces already saw her in Tampa. A niece in DFW said not interested, but LMK if you get some Messi tickets and I'll come to Florida.

Based on reaction from local media, Taylor could sell out multiple times more than 3 events at Hard Rock. Or charge 2 or 3 times more. But I trust that her team is doing it rIght.

>>You’re on the Waitlist … But Hang Tight.

Right now you are on the waitlist for your selected show. There won’t be enough tickets for everyone who registered so a limited number of registered Verified Fans received a unique access code and others were placed on the waitlist. My daughters bought them a year ago when they came out so I think it was $150 apiece. They were two of the lucky ones.

They’re still fast asleep so I haven’t asked them how it went.

My girls (17/15) went a few months ago but desperately want to go again. No dice on tickets for the late 2024 shows. They livestream literally every show, discuss surprise songs, new Taylor version releases, etc. They were talking about how she got an 8 minute standing ovation last night for something? Im sure social media has a lot to do with it, but it almost has a cult-like feel to it at this point. Not disputing her talent at all, but feels like a little much sometimes.

Nah, it's just fans being fans. Remember that fan is short for fanatic. We could run done a long list of fanbases that have had over the top ways of supporting their favorite bands/artists. Is there a portion of her fanbase that is a bit weird? Sure, but can be said for a fanbase of any size. Hell, the Grateful Dead used to have fans who centered their whole lives around traveling to see the band every year. Fans are fanatical.
