The Good Place (1 Viewer)

This show is unbelievable.  They certainly aren't standing pat for too long.  Almost makes me think they're leaving good comedy on the table by exiting some locations way too fast.

Certainly not complaining though!!!

That may have been their best episode yet. Every character had an LOL moment or a great character moment. Tons of callbacks and even some great easter eggs like the "Bro" Demon that mistook Chidi was played by Kristin Bell's real life husband Dax Sheperd (my wife caught that, not me.)

The "Jortles!" had me absolutely :lmao:  Same with overhearing the strike force on the Medium Place breaking in on Derek & Mindy mid-windchime.

Also we got doses of good Janet, bad Janet, and even good Janet trying to act like bad Janet. "Hello... butt... faces...."

This is the best sitcom show on right now and 2nd place isn't even close.

I heart this show so hard!

Every character is perfect.

On Omaze you can enter a sweepstakes for an invitation to game night with Dax and Kristin at their house.  The last round they let the winner pick the game, but this time around they are insisting on played their new Game Of Thrones edition of Settlers Of Catan.

"It's why I took the form of a 45-year-old man..."

Good Janet trying to sell herself as Bad Janet forking ruled.

Tangent... the newest episode of Inside The Actors Studio is with Ted Danson.  The last segment about his career is about The Good Place.  He was effusive in his praise of his co-stars and Schur, loves doing the show because at its core it's a discussion of what makes a person good or bad, but wrapped up in fart joke humor.  Amazed how Schur can walk that tightrope.  Said some parts of Season 1 were tough because only him, Bell, and Schur knew where the show really was going.  Fun not having that barrier with the other four main cast members this season.

Overall the episode was a gracious and grateful Danson celebrating that, much like Mayday Malone, he's the luckiest son of a ##### on Earth.  Showers the people in his life with praise and kindness.

Jason made a molotov cocktail, yelled "Bortles!" and threw it. They made their way to the portal. Michael handed out pins to Chidi, Jason, and Tahani and sent them through the portal, but didn't have one for Eleanor. Janet was missing, and the bad crew caught up with them. Michael realized that the only option was to sacrifice himself, so he gave Eleanor his pin and pushed her through the portal. Then he was caught.

yeah thanks - it wasnt on my on demand at first for some reason but i finally caught up

For someone who went thru life (and death) as a ####### slacker, Eleanor sure seems to have the inner sense to separate fact from fiction.

Damn what a great season finale.  Nothing was going to live up to the season 1 ending, but this was very well done, and headed off in yet another direction.

It was good, but I also got a "Lost" vibe from it.

Too many twists and turns where I finally gave up

I really want to know what Jason's medium place would be.
At first I was thinking Madden on the original PlayStation, but that's the Mark Brunell/Fred Taylor/Jimmy Smith era of the Jaguars where they put up a lot of points.  Too fun for a true Jaguars superfan.

I can't believe Michael Schur would have accidentally written that many LOST parallels. He's a smart guy who knows his pop culture. So I think the nods to LOST are intentional.

Agreed, I can see a joke next season where they all are brought back together somehow and figure out "we've been in purgatory the whole time!"

Also loved how they were actually able to top last year's twist in a new and unique way, as well as all the callbacks to prior jokes. Totally forget about the "Dress #####" t-shirts.

Did not realize that was the season finale. Going to miss this show for the next 7 or 8 months.  :(

I ate a vegetable for the first time ever and had diarrhea for 3 straight days!

Sting's Desert Rose'         (and Ted Danson tending bar again.)

Hot diggitty dog!!!

All the Madden he wants, but it's Madden 1994, before the Jags joined the league.

He can make all the Molotov cocktails he wants, but they don't explode (like when he through it at the train in money's medium place).

All the food is from Stupid Nicks, but instead of the Gainesville one, it is from a different city, and that place doesn't have the recipe quite right.  Also, the oven can't get it to the right temperature so it's always about 20% wrong.

Theres an unlimited supply of jalapeno poppers, but they are filled with brie.

He has a budhole, but all the posters are of DJ Acidcat.

He has Cheetos, but they are all caramel flavored.

Speaking of duration, I believe the show creator said it's all planned out for three 13-episode seasons, then it's done and over. So, next season would be the last.
That explains why they're telling the story at such a fast pace.  There's no need for a holding pattern if extra renewals happen.

Probably also contributed to how Schur got Ted Danson and Kristen Bell on board:  3 seasons, 13 half-hours, then we all shake hands and move on to other projects.

I'm not fully caught up so I'm not reading through the whole thread, but man is this show awesome. I love all the Michael Schur shows, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised but this is already right up there with Parks and Rec, which is my favorite comedy/sitcom show.

Love it.
