Can we add some?  There are some things that just don't fit the categories.

My proposal: we replace the Western category with a wildcard category. 
BUT- those who have already selected a western would able to replace their picks with a wildcard pick, OR put their western pick in a different category, their choice, and nobody could draft a wildcard selection until this was completed.

you could switch out Drama Male - 70-90 (they're ALL detectives). Any cat where Betty Thomas would be Top 5 doesnt need to be there

timmy, there is a very real, equitable solution to this:  just make the new category and let the "already drafted in that category folks" to pick in the new category in the same order (assuming they agree to the change). Isn't it worth at least asking them with this brand new shiny alternative in mind?

But that still penalizes someone who took a western in the 3rd round more than someone who took one in the 10th. 
 

I say if we really want the new category we just add it at the beginning of a round (preferably an even one).

I’d vote for no new category regardless. There’s better categories that weren’t used than a miscellaneous one (medical, military/war, spinoff, sports, etc).

I think that’s fair. At my fantasy football draft we were in Round 8 and the commissioner didn’t draft any RBs. We all that it was weird until when in Round 9 he made a rule where we didn’t need to start any RBs. We were all cool with it.

If he asked to be skipped why do we need a ruling if I did that it would be specifically because I didn't want people to wait for me/me to hold up every one else all weekend.

just my two cents since this draft is a fun diversion and no monetary value is at stake, I say we “supersize” this thing and add a bunch more categories why not?

Maybe at the end of this round so the 16th pick gets first dibs if they want....

I’d like to see:

Best legal drama

best medical show

best cop show

best military show

worst finale of all time

best variety show character/bit (ie Karnak vs stupid human tricks vs mr Robinson’s neighborhood)

wild card!

I chose Gunsmoke because I thought I had an edge to win a category. Respectfully, this seems unfair to my strategy for that pick.

Predicting the metric for a wildcard category seems way harded for me - and therefore the odds of my pick being the top one - than Western where I think I can objectively say if Gunsmoke isn'r ranked 1 it's going to be damn close.
