The Great 2020 All Time Television Draft: The Simpsons is judged the greatest show of all time (3 Viewers)

Team GallStein is moving Lost to Sci Fi and selecting:

Pick 27.02 - American Horror Story (Category - Horror)

I mean it has horror right in the title.  It has to score good, right?

Do we shorten timers or do something different for 2nd half of draft?
Wondering if we can do something like Mrs. R requested for the people that tend to time out more: notify them when they’re up then skip after 15 min (or even 30 min) if they don’t show up.

One of my favorite characters on TV, if I didn't have Mike Brady I could tuck him into the Dad category as well but I am quite happy to have him in this lane...  I now have Olivia and John as my Drama Leads...

Rd 27 - John Walton (as played by Ralph Waite) - Leading Man Drama - 1970-90

27.08 Rust Cohle- TV Detective

“Life’s barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you get good at.”

Cohle, is a dark, cynical, deeply philosophical man with demons that he's unafraid of mentioning in polite conversation. But he is a  talented detective and dedicated to his work and renowned for his abilities, most notably his ability to get confessions from criminals.

He's Nihilistic, enigmatic, and honestly one of the best written characters I've seen on TV.

26.16  The Outer Limits - 50-70 Drama

27.01 Jonathan Higgins (Magnum) - 71-90 Supporting Man
Awesome picks.

Thought about Higgins for a long while. Way back in the day, it shocked the heck out of me when I learned that late actor John Hillerman was from Texas.

27.10 - Trilogy of Terror - Horror

We're not limited to series in anything else, so I'm taking this icon of Seventies TV-movie horror. It's scarier than anything chosen so far.

I want a Zuni doll

Fun pick here.

Yeah, I think there is an episode of Magnum where his half brother from Texas comes to the island for a Rodeo and of course it's Higgy baby playing the role of his "half" brother with a perfect TX accent.

Was 3rd on my list behind Magnum and Rockford.

Which [Westworld]?
Wasn’t the original a movie?
Yes it was.

EDIT: Thinking back on it, though ... I caught the 1973 film Westworld a few times on network television when I was a little kid (and freaked me the F out). I wonder if the producers has a special television release deal? Seems like it was on TV a lot more than you would expect a movie to be pre-cable.

How’s this for a combination of picks. Yo Mama selects:

27.16 - Tales From The Crypt - Horror

My list for this category was hit pretty hard lately and this has been one of my top choices from the start so I better grab it now.

This show holds a special place in my heart since it came out right around the time a young Yo Mama discovered an incredible magic herb. I’d get together with my buddies to watch the hilarious Crypt Keeper host an incredible lineup of star guests each week. Plus it was on HBO, so there was lots of swearing and gore and boobs, so that was awesome too.

28.01 - June Cleaver - Mom

June was the prototypical example of the perfect mom both within TV and in popular culture. Plus, Barbara Billingsley knew how to speak Jive

This is one category that I still have quite a few, but one still stands out.  It's recent, and I am not sure how many people watched it, but this show was nuts.   Mads was awesome in this and Mr. Claire Danes was damn good as well.  What pushed this near the top for me for the category was just how damn gory and horrifying it was.  I still have trouble believing this was a network show.

27.15:  HANNIBAL (horror)

Looks like it's on Prime or Hulu, and I recommend people giving it a try if they like the SotL universe.   I was sad that it only lasted 3 seasons.

Always loved the weird, uncomfortable quality this show brought to the table.  Just squirm-worthy sometimes.

28.02:  THE NEWLYWED GAME  (game show)

I’ve been watching it on Netflix.
