The Great 2020 All Time Television Draft: The Simpsons is judged the greatest show of all time (3 Viewers)

"In the year 1621, the Pilgrims held their first Thanksgiving feast. They invited the great Indian chief Massasoit, who brought 90 of his brave Indians and a great abundance of food. Governor William Bradford and Captain Miles Standish were honored guests. Elder William Brewster, who was a minister, said a prayer that went something like this: 'We thank God for our homes and our food and our safety in a new land. We thank God for the opportunity to create a new world for freedom and justice.' "

...

"What kind of Thanksgiving dinner is this? Where's the turkey, Chuck? Don't you know anything about Thanksgiving dinners? Where's the mashed potatoes? Where's the cranberry sauce? Where's the pumpkin pie?"

34.06: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Holiday Show

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving serves up some surprisingly poignant and often funny quotes about Turkey Day. The "Peanuts" characters, including Lucy, Linus, Patty, Sally, Marcie, and of course, Charlie Brown, maybe youngsters, but they provide plenty of thoughtful wisdom about Thanksgiving traditions like football, turkey and pumpkin pie.

Of course, the words are put into their animated mouths by creator and writer Charles M. Schulz, who was just five days shy of his 51st birthday when the special aired in 1973. It won him the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Children's Programming. It continued to air every Thanksgiving on CBS until 2000, the year that Schulz died, and then on ABC. - Simran Khurana, LiveAbout.com

Excellent Pick!

10 out of 11 Holiday shows picked before me were Xmas shows. I think we had been leaving a few worthies by the wayside.

Although there is one more really solid Xmas one left. And a second Xmas one I like less, but is iconic to some.

Dont y'all go forgetting Barney Fife's All-Star Arbor Day Special, with Nipsey Russell and Kate Smith. Some bud-nippin' goin' on there, boy...

34.09 **** Loudon- Lead male in comedy -1971-1990

If you want great tv just get a bunch of crazy characters and let Bob Newhart play the straight man around them. **** is a sane, mild-mannered everyman surrounded by a community of oddballs in a town that exists in an illogical world governed by rules that elude him.

3 Emmy nominations and 4 golden globe nominations for best lead in comedy series.

I debated which of his two roles to take since I couldn't take both.  Both are fantastic though.

Set in Lynbrook, the town over from RVC where I live... a long time favorite show

34.10 - Everybody Loves Raymond - Comedy 1990-20

During its nine seasons, Everybody Loves Raymond was nominated for 69 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 15 of them,

34.11 - Lucy Bates - 1971-1990 supporting woman

Betty Thomas was nominated 7 times for the supporting actress Emmy for her role at Sergeant Lucy Bates

@rick6668 - do I have this right that you are taking over for higgins?

34.12 - The Rockford Files Theme - Theme Song

I'm picking things I like, and this is iconic to me,  I can still hear the phone ringing.  One of my earliest TV memories is hearing this theme when my sister would watch this.

The song spent four months on the charts and in August 1974 became a Top 10 hit in the U.S. (#10, for two weeks) and in Canada (#8). It was also a Top 20 Adult Contemporary hit in both nations.

"The Rockford Files" won a 1975 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement.

One of my favorites

Just checking the spreadsheet and I noticed our change of Lost to Sci Fi and the addition of American Horror Story to Horror did not get to the "by Drafter" tab.  No hurry just not sure if that would show American Horror Story still available as I am sure anyone that doesn't have that category already will be trying to jump on it right away as it is likely a top 5 scorer.

Pick 34.15 - Shawn Spencer (Category - TV Detective)

Maybe a little off the radar but Shawn Spencer is a great character from one of my all time favorite shows.   He was groomed from very early on to use his "psychic" powers to figure out anything from how many hats in a room to who is trying to kill Nigel St Nigel of American Duos fame.   As detectives go there aren't too many better than the Psychic Detective.

@Hov34 for two

Pick 35.02 - Rose Nylund (Category - 1971 to 1990 Comedy Lead Woman)

Team GallStein is pleased to add the best of the Golden Girls to our roster.  She was the only one of them to be nominated for the lead comedy female emmy every year it was on the air (winning once).   She is the queen of comedy and glad to have her on board.

@timschochet on the clock

35. The Fall- foreign show

One of the best crime dramas I’ve ever seen in any format. Gillian Anderson plays a British detective sent to Belfast to hunt down a serial killer (Jamie Dornan). The suspense is riveting; highly recommended.

35.5 The Pacific  - Mini Series

Again, I am picking something I have seen and loved.  John Basilone  was a bad ###.

Critical reception
The Pacific received widespread critical acclaim. On the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds an approval rating of 91% with an average rating of 8.32 out of 10, based on 43 reviews. The website's critical consensus reads, "An honest, albeit horrifying, exploration of World War II, The Pacific is a visually stunning miniseries not for the faint of heart." On Metacritic, the series has a weighted average score of 86 out of 100, based on 32 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".

Time magazine's James Poniewozik named it one of the Top 10 TV Series of 2010.  IGN reviewer Ramsey Isler gave the entire miniseries an 8.5 out of 10, saying "Although I don't think The Pacific overtakes Band of Brothers in terms of technical execution and overall entertainment value, many of the comparisons will be moot as The Pacific is a different kind of series with different goals. This series sought to look beyond the combat and it paints a full, vivid picture of the war and the people that fought it through focused, individual stories. That's a tall order for any series to fulfill, and although The Pacific doesn't always come through with shining colors, it does make an admirable effort."  IGN also reviewed each individual episode, with Episode 9 receiving a perfect 10 out of 10 score.

Accolades
The Pacific won a Peabody Award in 2010 for "reminding us of the necessities—and the costs—of service." It also won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film.
