Saw some commercials last night. It looks funny although I don't know how they're going to make a whole series over a guy obsessing about fantasy football. It doesn't start until October 29 though

Oh I guess I was so interested in seeing it, I warped to the end of Oct haha. Fixed.

Looks good... thanks for the heads up!

"Jon Lajoie"

That guy has some HILARIOUS music vids on Yahoo... funny guy.

:homer: That's my question, too. I worry that we may be seeing most of the fantasy football content in the promos, and the rest is just standard sitcom fare.

They only have to do like weekly for like 12-26 weeks.I've been doing it over 5 years. Can't be that hard.

Haha seriously. And with the number of the disputes and drama over rules and trades in some of my leagues, along with everyday life drama, there's some content to keep things going for a bit.

I think the real trick is finding enough people to want to WATCH someone obsessing about FF. They need to hit the Shark Pool for ideas.

Here's a web version of the topic with the same name. It's not the same show as on FX, but maybe where the original idea came from. They add a nice twist to the idea and it gets kinda funny after the first episode. Episodes are pretty short.

The show should stick to how fantasy football is part of a person's everyday life. Episode 4 was dumb and is the type of path that I think would make a show like this not work.

Ya, that guy Jed pretty much holds down the comedy act. "Who's driving the car man???"

They're probably already here.

Lajoie is funny, but a show about guys who play fantasy football doesn't appeal to me at all. Sounds lame, and the teaser didn't impress. Different strokes, I suppose.

I can't wait for the episode when the dude goes off in the movie theater on the guy eating tuna!! Golden Jerry Golden

Sorry, not going to watch a show about twelve "that guy"(s) that constantly talk about fantasy football when no one gives a ####.

Love that show!I would rather watch a lame show about FF than a good one about kids misbehaving and their super nanny.

FF is like Pizza and sex...even when it's bad, it's good.

Just sayin...

I had no idea he was going to be in this...my interest is officially piqued. His '2 girls 1 cup' song is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. 'Sunday Afternoon' is hilarious too.

Dammit I love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". I wish they put out more episodes. That show is freaking hilarious.I hope the League turns out to be good. I didn't have high hopes to begin with but I heard Jeff Schaffer talking about the show on the Sirius Fantasy Football Show and he has me optimistic.

Yeah really. I got 18+ years experience. I should be the headliner in this show.

Come on. Do you guys realy expect fantasy football to be the focus of this show? It's a typical comedy, based on friendships and relationships. The guys just happen to be in a fantasy football league together. That's their hook to get people watching. Just my opinion going in.

I agree... but if it is well done and FF is sort of the backdrop in some of the stories each week, that could be fun. But really, they can only have so many episodes about the draft, crazy trades, the commish being a jerk, some guys girlfriend/wife ruining the league, a scoring error that screwed someone out of a win etc. etc. I'm guessing these sorts of things will be sprinkled into episodes (that are largely focused on relationships etc. like you mentioned), with maybe FF playing a central role only sparingly throughout the season. But it's all guesswork on my end at this point... and I'm defintely very interested to check it out.

And that is different from spending months/years trolling around The Shark Pool to see what other trolls think and exchange monologues HOW, exactly? :) :lmao: Now when they make a show about trolls sitting behind their keyboards and using flamethrowers in the FFA, that'll be GOLD, Jerry...GOLD!!!

Him: "I need a kicker for the bye week. Wait, I need another running back...."

Her: "Wow, that took a really long time."

Me: Spit take, Coca-Cola out the nose (sorry if that is TMI).

I'm such a fantasy football geek.

I'll give it a try tonight.

I will say the commercials have been kind of underwhelming imo...

Not a good sign when they can't come up with 30 really funny seconds...

The show is terrible. They try to pass inappropriate language in front of 5 year olds as comedy. They have a unique way to determine draft position but it appears there are only 5 guys in The League. The show is not worth anyones time. That is my review.

MUCH better than I expected (or the commercials indicated).

I'll be watching while it lasts...

It actually was better than I expected. Kinda like a bit of Seinfeld meets Office Space meets HBO (for language/subject matter), centered around a bunch of buddies who like to play FFL and have different relationships with their wives/girlfriends. I'd definitely watch it again. Seems like it's definitely geared at people who've been out of college for at least 5-6 years too, with all the other life-issues they are introducing. Fine by me...as most people don't know #### until they're 25-26 anyway. :lmao:

Actually, can we get an emoticon of a smilie with a white beard and glasses shaking a cane at something? That's be the more appropriate emoticon here...lol.

What shows are "worth my time" then? :lmao:
