#Packers WR Randall Cobb expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Look for them to sign a Veteran WR this week.
If that's true why didn't McCarthy say that in his press conference?
Not true. From a fake twitter account.

Sounds like #Packers dodged a bullet with Randall Cobb’s injury. Teammates left believing it’s minor, that it’s likely just a sprain.

I will also point out no speculation however guys with shoulder issues where hoodies because they rest it in the pocket... Petter PR then coming out with a sling on.

They can say minor or not but until the MRI will have no clue what if any damage has occurred.

So many injures this offseason, might be one of those years where every week 1's and 2's go down for weeks on end.

Cobb talking to media, too. Won't confirm W1 availability, but media availability a good sign.

Dennis Krause @DennisKrause1 Randall Cobb talked to reporters. Says silver lining is that it's not collarbone. As for being able to play in Week 1, too early to tell.

Media availability a good sign? Alrighty

If they did an Xray and confirmed not a collarbone that is good. That would be 8 weeks minimum.

However, still no idea what he has. Bad sprain would be terrible news.

“I just caught the ball and was going down to the ground, and I had a guy land on top of me,” Cobb said, via ESPN.com. “I was just jogging off the field at the end of the series, and I could feel the pain. I didn’t know exactly what it was. It was discomfort, and I let Doc check it out and we went back and got X-rays. It’s not what we think it could’ve been.”

While that was a “silver lining,” Cobb’s not sure about whether he will be well enough to play in Week One against the Bears. There will be more tests on his shoulder on Sunday and their results will give the team a better idea about who Rodgers will be able to throw to when the regular season gets underway.

Hearing grade 1 AC joint sprain. Worst case would be miss week 1, but more than likely he'd be in there against Chicago. Two weeks is enough time for a grade 1.

Giddy up

Drafted today while people were worried and he fell to me in the 3rd (10team TD heavy) qbs and rbs dominated early.

I'm having trouble with starting him with confidence. Who knows how much they risk him out there week 1, packers surely don't want to risk re-aggravating this as as happened to other guys.

Ever heard the phrase "always start your studs?"

Not benching him if he starts, just saying struggling with feeling good about it so far.

The game is like 12 days away.

Yes, obviously he could get on the practice field before then. Reports point toward him being able to play. But no one has reported it was definitively a Grade 1 sprain. Just stating thoughts on it as of now, But yes, 12 days should make him highly probably of starting and producing.

I'm all in after the Jordy injury, have him finishing top 5 in PPR. My only concern is how he handles being the bonfide #1 WR but I'm done doubting this guy. Especially with the best QB in football throwing to him.

NFLN Nate Burleson still sticking to his "I had this injury and Cobb will struggle" routine... even threw out the dreaded decoy word tonight.

When I played football in HS, I dislocated my shoulder. Not quite the same as an AC sprain, but it was too the same area. I had full range of motion back in 2 weeks. I'd think NFL players probably have better access to medicine than I did.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Bob Holtzman reports Randall Cobb isn't 100 percent and will wear extra protection on his injured shoulder Week 1 against the Bears.

With Jordy Nelson (knee) down for the season, Cobb is going to have to tough it out this year. He's battling a sprained AC joint and is finding it difficult to sleep, but will likely sport a brace. It won't affect his ability to separate or catch, but could be painful when he is taken to the ground. Cobb is a surefire WR1 this week and gets a boost with Bears slot CB Tracy Porter (hamstring) being out.

Rotoworld:

of-12 targets for 91 yards and three touchdowns in the Packers' 38-28, Week 3 win over the Chiefs on Monday night.

He had a fourth touchdown called back on a ticky-tack, new-emphasis offensive pass interference call when Ty Montgomery was whistled for blocking on a WR screen play too early. Still, Cobb dominated out of the slot, especially after the Chiefs lost slot CB Phillip Gaines early in the first quarter to a knee sprain. The Chiefs were then forced to use stiff safety Tyvon Branch to cover the shifty Cobb. And Cobb whipped him on his very first play for a short touchdown. All three of Cobb's touchdowns came of short passes where he just beat the defensive backs to the end zone. Cobb will be a WR1 next week in San Francisco.

Huh ok cool. Someone in the game thread mentioned that he dinged himself before halftime and it appeared he was favoring that shoulder. His lack of 2nd half stats made me a bit uneasy for the future (I went through the Jimmy Graham injured shoulder on/off disappearing act last year). Glad to hear some good news on it though.

Definitely looked like he did something to it early in the game. IIRC, he was back in within a play or 2.

He's curiously not on Gene's weekly injury rounds list which seems odd considering he's a key part of a dynamic offense. I'm starting Cobb either way but it seems like he might be dealing with shoulder issues all season which could lead to some up and down games perhaps. Hoping that he can push through to their bye week and come out the other side fully healthy.
