The Return of the Desert Island Jukebox Draft - Drop in a quarter (1 Viewer)

I don't think I've ever had that many open on my phone. At least not on purpose.
Oh yeah, I didn't notice he said phone.  I don't think I could do that.  I had these open on my computer.

It seems that I have no choice in the matter
Roll along wheel of fortune, as you roll along I stick around
Furthermore in the country I will lay my burden down

All over the place

All over the place
All over the place
All over the place

Too long have I been the heart of the matter
All along I was only over tired and overtaken
Furthermore in the country I will lay my burden down

All over the place

My jukebox is a mess given the non-Spotify songs that I picked.

*sighs*

Oh well, it was an endeavor.

Just bought my dude up some cane
So much it came with a plane
Bought my dude up some dope
So much it came with a boat

OK, the vodka has started to speak, hopefully I'll hear what it has to say in a few minutes.

Wake up! It's a Monday morning
No time left to say goodbye
Can't breathe
and the lights are changing.
You can live your own life
Making it happen
Working on your own time
Laid back and laughin'
Oh no, oh no.

Headlights,
make it home by sundown
Feeling that the day is through
Return back
to where you come from
You can live your own life
Making it happen
Working on your own time
Laid back and laughin'
Oh no, oh no.

You wake up in the mornin'
And the sun's comin' up.
Its been up for hours
and hours and hours
And hours and hours and hours
It's been up for hours
and hours and hours
And you light up the stove
And the coffee cup, its hot.
And the orange juice
is cold, cold, cold
Monday morning,
Wake up, wake up,
wake up, wake up
Its time to go,
Time to go to work.*

Come on put out the light
Come on put out the light
Come on put out the light
Oh, oh, oh**
(x17 or so)

You can live your own life
Making it happen
Working on your own time
Laid back and laughin'
Oh no, oh no.
No, no, no.

Let me tell you a secret
Put it in your heart and keep it
Something that I want you to know
Do something for me
Listen to my simple story
And maybe we'll have someting to show

You tell me you're cold on the inside
How can the outside world
Be a place that your heart can embrace
Be good to yourself
Because nobody else
Has the power to make you happy

I'm listening to my Paul mix tonight (which was likely obvious from my italicized lyrics), and here's how it goes:

1.  Song comes on, and I think, "Wow, this is great, I need to move it up in the list!"

2.  Move song up.

3.  Song I moved it above comes on, and I think, "Wow, this is great, I need to move it up in the list!"

4.  Move song up.

5.  Repeat, for eternity.

Apologies to all.  I won't bother listing my 23 make up picks, but I am working on the playlist now and I will post it.
Mister marks can you find for me
Someone strong and sweet fitting on my knee
She can keep her job if she gets it wrong
Ah, but mister marks I won't need her long
All I need is help for a little while
We can take dictation and learn to smile
And a temporary secretary is what I need for to do the job

I need a
Temporary secretary, temporary secretary
Temporary secretary, temporary secretary

With that in mind, I'd like to do something. Joe doesn't know if he can keep the boards up if there's no season. I think we've all gotten to know each other quite well over the years, enough so that I can lodge my email in your contacts, hopefully. It's rockaction8@gmail.com. My name will come up as Flash Garbonzo (I couldn't think of anything better at the time.) But it's me. If these boards go down, hopefully we keep in touch.

That's just for now. I'll post it again later or start a thread about it.

Suck it, haters.

Round 50: Adele -- Rolling in the Deep

Year: 2011 (single in 2010 but album not released until 2011)

Album: 21

B-side: If It Hadn't Been for Love

With that, I have 50 songs (and quite a few associated flip slides) from 50 consecutive years, the first of which was the year my father graduated from college, and the last of which was the year my son was born.

There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch, and it's bringing me out the dark
Finally, I can see you crystal clear
Go ahead and sell me out, and then I'll lay your #### bare
See how I'll leave with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I will do
There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch, and it's bringing me out the dark

The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinkin' that we almost had it all
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling

We could have had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
Rolling in the deep
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
You had my heart inside of your hand
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
And you played it to the beat
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)

Baby, I have no story to be told
But I've heard one on you, now I'm gonna make your head burn
Think of me in the depths of your despair
Make a home down there, as mine sure won't be shared

(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
The scars of your love remind me of us
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
They keep me thinkin' that we almost had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
I can't help feeling

We could have had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
Rolling in the deep
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
You had my heart inside of your hand
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
And you played it to the beat
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
Could have had it all
Rolling in the deep
You had my heart inside of your hand
But you played it with a beating

Throw your soul through every open door (oh-oh)
Count your blessings to find what you look for (whoa-oh)
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold (oh-oh)
You'll pay me back in kind and reap just what you sow

(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
We could have had it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
We could have had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
It all, it all, it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)

We could have had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
Rolling in the deep
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
You had my heart inside of your hand
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
And you played it to the beat
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
We could have had it all
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
Rolling in the deep
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
You had my heart inside of your hand
(You're gonna wish you – never had met me)
But you played it, you played it, you played it
You played it to the beat

Uh, what did I walk into tonight?

I've been thinking about this and hoping he gives some notice if he's going to take them down, since we'd need some time to organize.  Of course, every year when it gets close to football season, he threatens to take the boards down.  But I think the loss of income and increased frustration this year might make it more meaningful.  Anyway, I'm glad you posted this.  I don't want to post mine publicly, but I'll save yours and then hopefully could reach others through you.

Well, the rain was a-failing, and the ground turned to mud
I was watching all the people running from the flood
So I started to praying, though I ain't no praying man
For the Lord to come-a-helping, knowing He'd understand

Deliver your children to the good good life
Give 'em peace and shelter and a fork and knife
Shine a light in the morning and a light at night
And if a thing goes wrong, you'd better make it right

Lyrical shuffling:

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes
And make it go away

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is a world destruction, your life ain't nothing
The human race is becoming a disgrace
Countries are fighting in chemical warfare
Not giving a damn about the people who live

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

And all the people that you made in your image
See them fighting in the street
'Cause they can't make opinions meet about God
I can't believe in you

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head they are crying

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Don’t make me a target

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer "More! More! More!"

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In the fields the bodies burning,
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind,
Poisoning their brainwashed minds

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Death defying, mutilated armies scatter the earth,
Crawling out of dirty holes, their morals,
Their morals disappear

You got my #, migo.

Uh, what did I walk into tonight?
Well, when I walk, when I walk
Walk my horse up on the hill (When I walk my horse upon a hill)
Well, when I walk, walk, walk, walk
Walk my horse up on the hill (When I walk my horse upon a hill)
When I lay me down
Will my lover love me still?

A dog is here (A dog is here)
A dog is there (A dog is there)
My dog, he got three legs
But he can't run

Uh, what did I walk into tonight?
Brother Pele's in the back
Sweet Zina's in the front
Cruisin' down the freeway in the hot, hot sun
Suddenly red-blue lights flash us from behind
Loud voice booming
Please step out onto the line
Pele preaches words of comfort
Zina just hides her eyes
Policeman taps his shades
Is that a Chevy '69?

How bizarre
How bizarre, how bizarre

HERE  is my playlist of 50 years of Movie Music.   YES - there are a couple cheats, but the 80s soundtracks are more awesomer than other soundtracks!!

In honor of my favorite drunk song on the soundtrack, but not the one that I put on the playlist...

Ah
Woo
Hey, look me over
Tell me do you like what you see?
Hey, I ain't got no money
But honey, I'm rich on personality

Hey, check it all out
Baby, I know what it's all about
Before the night is through
You will see my point of view
Even if I have to scream and shout

I'll contact you if the boards go down. My main email is my first and last name so I don't want to post it here. I think the email address I use with our somethingpalooza football league isn't my main email address.

Pearls and swine

Bereft of me

Long and weary

My road has been

I was lost in the cities

Alone in the hills

No sorrow or pity

For leaving, I feel, yeah

I am not your rolling wheels

I am the highway

I am not your carpet ride

I am the sky

Friends and liars

Don't wait for me

Cause I'll get on

All by myself

I put millions of miles

Under my heels

And still too close

To you, I feel, yeah

I am not your rolling wheels

I am the highway

I am not your carpet ride

I am the sky

I am not your blowing wind

I am the lightning

I am not your autumn moon

I am the night, the night

Yeah! I am not your rolling wheels

I am the highway

I am not your carpet ride

I am the sky

Well, I am not your blowing wind

I am the lightning

I am not your autumn moon

I am the night, the night

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Same here: OriginalSynapse@gmail.com.  Works on Twitter too.

Wow, I'm just posting whatever is playing at the time, but this one worked out perfectly.

I'll contact you if the boards go down. My main email is my first and last name so I don't want to post it here. I think the email address I use with our somethingpalooza football league isn't my main email address.
Thanks, simey! Mine isn't my first or last name either but is apparent enough to those in this draft, I think. I've said a bunch of times during drafts what my name is and my real name can be procured from clicking the jukebox list.

Neil is clairvoyant.

The world is turnin',
I hope it don't turn away,
The world is turnin',
I hope it don't turn away.
All my pictures are fallin'
from the wall where
I placed them yesterday.
The world is turnin',
I hope it don't turn away.

I need a crowd of people,
but I can't face them
day to day,

I need a crowd of people,
but I can't face them
day to day.
Though my problems
are meaningless,
that don't make them
go away.

I need a crowd of people,
but I can't face them
day to day.

I went to the radio interview,
but I ended up alone
at the microphone,
I went to the radio interview,
but I ended up alone
at the microphone.
Now I'm livin'
out here on the beach,
but those seagulls are
still out of reach.

I went to the radio interview,
but I ended up alone
at the microphone.

Get out of town,
think I'll get out of town,
Get out of town,
think I'll get out of town.
I head for the sticks
with my bus and friends,
I follow the road,
though I don't know
where it ends.

Get out of town, get out of town,
think I'll get out of town.

'Cause the world is turnin',
I don't want to
see it turn away.

Oh, I guess you had no idea that you could have persuaded me
Girl, you could've had me doing anything you pleased
Girl, you should've took your time and thought of what to say to me
'Cause I'm not as hard as you make it seem to be

It could've went so many ways
So many ways it can go
'Cause ain't nobody feels the way that I feel when I'm alone
So if I said that I won't call
The lying comes natural to me
You probably coulda had it all
You could have been that lonely star
If we just went on
If we just went on, oh yeah
If we just went on
If we just went on

Happiness exists when you don't know a thing
So I hope you don't think this song is about you
And only I can know how close you came
But baby I'm a pro at letting go
I love it when they come and go

But it could've went so many ways
So many ways it can go
'Cause ain't nobody feels the way that I feel when I'm alone
So if I said that I won't call
The lying comes natural to me

You probably could've had it all
You could've been that lonely star

This song reminds me so much of going to the neighborhood pool in the 70s. I had the 45.
