The Top 300 Greatest TV Shows of All Time: FBG Consensus: 50 Lists received. 2: Seinfeld 1: Breaking Bad (6 Viewers)

It cracks me up a little that in a group of 40+ year olds, one of the shows people seem to be circling and trying is Veronica Mars.
I watched Veronica Mars when it was in reruns. It came on some channel that I don't think exist anymore around 6 p.m. My boyfriend would turn it on and sing to the theme song, which is The Dandy Warhols' "We Used to Be Friends." The song was my favorite part of the show, but it did have some clever writing in it.

✋

Color me intrigued. When it was out, I thought it was another One Tree Hill or Dawson's Creek. Ever since a show yet to be ranked, I've been a big KB fan.
If it turns up on a streaming service I get, I might watch it.
I didn't watch it originally because I figured it was a Dawson's Creek type show. Once it got listed here and I read the description it sounded interesting and right up my alley as I like detective type shows with storylines that go episode to episode while also having new stories. So far I have enjoyed it as I am part way through season 1. I have liked how it gives you some clues throughout that come up again so you need to pay attention on the periphery at times. Pleasently surprised so far.

Several of my selections are going to be from timeframes of childhood and young adulthood. Batman was a big part of that. 120 episodes and some of the best villain characters of all time. And for me, I still think of Adam West when I think of Batman and not any of the later movie iterations.

I was way late to the game on this show. I didn't watch it originally and just stumbled upon it about a year ago. I flew through the series as it really kept my interest for the most part. Walter was amazing. John Noble played that character awesomely. He definitely made the show worth watching.

If we had done this countdown a few years ago I would have missed having this on my list. It could have even been a bit higher but top 50-ish seems right to me for my list.

Such a great show. Still has some of the best portrayals of these characters of any of the tv shows / movies to come.

It knew what it wanted to be (campy and fun) and leaned way into that. I mean a Batman versus Joker surfing contest?

This ranked so high for me since it was one of those shows that transcended the screen into pop culture.

Same bat time. . . Same bat channel. . .

I’m just surprised that @John Maddens Lunchbox is doing a Batman theme in the MAD Theme draft, but did not have Batman here.

It’s interesting the different approaches we all took. There’s probably a decent percentage of my list that I wouldn’t rewatch except for nostalgia reasons.

I will say I’m kind of looking forward to having grandkids one day and revisiting some of my shows. Batman will definitely be one of them I hope.

Indeed - as mentioned above, the villainous Burgess Meredith, Cesar Romero, and Frank Gorshin are just as memorable - if not more - than Adam West and Burt Ward.

Batman never entered my head for this. I liked it as a kid but didn’t love it. Young McB really, really, really liked Julie Newmar’s Catwoman, though.
Well, it was only 3 seasons so I figured it would be right up your alley and definitely considered being that it was under 5 seasons.

They churned out 120 Batman episodes in those three seasons because it was broadcast two nights per week. 120 episodes is about the equivalent of six seasons of a modern network sitcom.

Wow with this board I kinda thought this would be top 50. New season coming! Has to be one of the five best portrayals of a book to the screen I've ever seen.

ETA: not sure it's sci fi or fantasy or horror...maybe more Mystery? Or Procedural?

I mean, I watch Reacher, but it's not on my list. It's kinda fast-food TV. Which I guess is kind of true to the books, they're vacation reads. It's finely done for what it is.

Better get on Safer ground.

I remember having a small B/W TV in my room when I was probably 11 or 12. Summers and weekends I often fell asleep to it. And watched Lil Rascals and Three Stooges Sunday mornings after my paper route and going back to sleep. I think my parents gifted me a larger color one a couple years later.
Was the paper you delivered Grit?

lol no. Dayton Daily News. Mon-Sat in the afternoons and Sunday mornings. Interestingly, in the 80's there were two newspapers in Dayton. The other one was delivered in the mornings except on Sunday.
Anchorage had that too - two newspapers, one morning and one afternoon. My parents had strong opinions on the politics of each while I had strong opinions about the comics and sports pages of each.

I disagree. He's one-dimensional, but it's the correct one for this role.
