The Top 300 Greatest TV Shows of All Time: FBG Consensus: 50 Lists received. 2: Seinfeld 1: Breaking Bad (6 Viewers)

Anyone else see the Netflix mini series Adolescence? It's four one hour episodes shot in real-time. Each episode, they turned the camera on and shot for an hour without any editing. But they go seamlessly in and out of buildings and vehicles. I can't even begin to imagine how much preparation went into it to have the exact timing down. The actors couldn't flub any lines. Really good stuff.
This seems to be completely opposite of the adolescence I experienced!

My wife and I just tried The Good Place. The first couple episodes were interesting, but we just had to bail after 8. Got bored and annoyed by Danson.
I think Danson is fine but the show is pretty repetitive and kind of a one trick poney. It has its moments and is quite clever at times but overall I kind of just want to get to the end at this point (into season 3)

I also think Maya Rudolph's character is very annoying.

Frasier was pretty good. Wasn't a big fan of it when it came out, but watching reruns, always seems to be good for a guffaw or two. Dynamic between Frasier and Martin is really good.
I think it's ranked just about right. Plenty of better sitcoms still out there.

67 - Frasier

Comedy
Score: 42
Frasier is the Three's Company of the 90s. Someone overhears something, misinterprets it, and hijinks ensue. Good characters, well acted and not bad writing.
IMO that's being pretty disingenuous to Frasier. The writing was super sharp and the plotlines were somewhat more complex than that.

I had it at 20. Always liked the show.

Has anyone else caught the radio station call letters? KACL. Cackle. Nice little Easter egg.

i didn't have too many comedy selections, buti should have had this higher.

Frazier might be my favorite sitcom.
I'm rewatching the series right now and I cannot believe how well it holds up.

Hot take: Niles Crane is the best second character in a sitcom of all time.

Frasier is the Three's Company of the 90s. Someone overhears something, misinterprets it, and hijinks ensue.
You could have just said it's a farce.

Imagine how much tossed salad and scrambled eggs costs now vis-a-vis when the show aired.

Have to say the recent updated Frasier was brutal though, in some part because Niles in it. I couldn't even make it through two full episodes before bailing.

Well done, AI (artificial intelligence that is not Al himself). Love it.

Married with the Children was the first show I was not allowed to watch as a youth. I loved it. Loved it. Shout out to my boy Al....66 feels low but there is a ton of great shows left on the countdown.

It was a catastrophe.

Yup - wasn't even the same writers, but surprised Grammer even let his name be associated with it unless he needs more cash from all his divorces.

Married with Children and Frasier were both near misses for me.

Al Bundy is also one of the great sitcom characters of all time.
The show was also noteworthy for that despite filling in for Steve, it was one of the few shows Ted McGinley wasn't successful in killing right away.
Yes, he kind of shook his show killing reputation by then. Probably still riding the Stan Gable wave.

Did scoresman run out of pickles?
This show was quite interesting.
You dont often see out and out losers as the central characters.
Did any character have redeeming features?
But on the whole it made sure it was funny and just a tad crude

MWC was part of a murderer's row on Fox during the early-mid '90s. Don't want to spoil some of the ones ahead, although I feel confident that unfortunately Herman's Head won't be in the top 64.

This is 1 of the 2 documentaries I included.

I was riveted and loved it. I enjoy WW2 history more as a subject matter, but this one was very well done, IMO.

The FOX channel was largely built on the back of MWC. It encompassed the (at the time) contrarian nature of the channel and was their original non-sports tentpole.

I always enjoy any of this show I watch. My kids all went through a binge phase on it and it was always good. However, I’ve only watched season 1 and bit and pieces, for no real reason. If I had watched kore, it would have made my list.

You could have just said it's a farce.
Hotter take: Who do you consider the second character on Seinfeld - Kramer, George,Elaine? They all blow Niles away.
What about on Curb? Jeff or Leon are better than Niles too.

Community was a funny idea, but for me the characters and actors were lacking vs other big comedies named and yet to come. Brie and Glover i like, but everyone else got on my nerves after a season or so.

Probably Jerry. George was the lead.
