I was a huge fan of S1, and was probably one of the best things I've watched in a couple years. For whatever reason haven't gotten to S2. That will be changed soon. I promise, @Raging weasel ;) It was on my list, but I bumped it down because of that.
Season 3 starts in a couple weeks.

Well no one believed her.
They even framed scientific evidence against her to put her in jail.

Anyway, 3 recorded deaths. But a few more are presumed.
On a large sand island (K’Gari/Fraser Island) where they run free, they attack small children all the time thanks to stupid parents feeding them while camping

Klugman and Randall had the best chemistry of any two lead actors in sitcom history with The Odd Couple.

The last scene in the series was the most perfect closing scene of any sitcom (well maybe second).
Was that the one involving a trash can?

I think more of us should go the route of JML (did I just write that?? ;) ) and post a clip or reason it was so high on a list. I had never heard of his show, and those clips made me want to seek it out. I've just seen the 1st season, so I'm not the best advocate for the show, but that season hooked me largely because it surprised me, creeped me out, was really well acted, and because of Misty ****in' Quigley. Could be because it is on a more niche channel too, being on Showtime and needing Paramount+ to get it.

I have the day off and crappy weather, I am going to start catching up on this one. It was one of my biggest "why haven't I gotten back to this?" reaction on my list.

Does anyone remember the reboot with Ron Glass of Barney Miller and Demond Wilson of Sanford & Son? It lasted one season.

Yes. There was also a reboot with two women in the roles and then the 2000s reboot with Matthew Perry as Oscar. The Perry one wasn’t terrible but nowhere near the original.

Some older shows will be hard to gauge how high it may rank due to not as many people having cable and then streaming early on. Don’t want to spotlight but there’s a couple shows that I think will get hurt by being before the cable and streaming booms.

Gravity Falls [Hulu/Disney+]

Trailer

It's a shame this one didn't get more time on air. It's a "kids" show (rated TV-Y7), but as I said I think I watched it more than the kids. My son liked it at the time it came out, but my daughter doesn't seem too interested. I love the weirdness, the characters, and the humor. Plus there is a running through line as far as what's going on in Gravity Falls. We stumbled onto this one as we were into Ben 10 and Teen Titans territory with him, and this was waaaaaayyyy better than those.

My #10 ranked show that did not make the top 300.

Yellowjackets

In 1996, a NJ high school girls' soccer team travels to Seattle for a national tournament. While flying over Canada, their plane crashes deep in the wilderness, and the surviving team members are left stranded for nineteen months. The series chronicles their attempts to stay alive as some of the team members are driven to cannibalism. It also focuses on the lives of the survivors 25 years later in 2021, as the events of their ordeal continue to affect them many years after their rescue.

Not positive I’ve seen the series all the way through, or it at least not in order. It gets real weird at the end

Teen Titans Go is pretty dumb but I always found it entertaining…occasionally I’ll get “night begins to shine” or “waffles waffles waffles” caught in my head

So... I'm rewatching Black Summer now while nominally cleaning the kitchen and I noticed something cool. Have you ever watched a show with subtitles on, and it totally gives something critical away, like a character you know as Damon speaks off screen, and the captions identify who's speaking as [Satan]? I'm happy to say that the captions on Black Summer identify the main character as [Woman] through at least episode 3 because nobody on the show knows her name yet.

I also like that they just never translate anything the Korean lady says. We can sort of figure it out, just like the people on the show can sort of figure it out.
I've encountered that a few times, but I can't think of a specific example now. It was similar to how you described - it attached the character name to an offscreen moment that ruined something.

Black Summer is yet another I liked, watched a couple episodes but never got back too. I am terrible about that. I think for me I have been burned by endings of shows a few too many times, and I am unsure about getting committed to a show. I feel most shows have 3-4 seasons worth of great ideas, and after that they start to spin lose their quality. I'm talking drama/horror/action here, comedy has a longer shelf life.
Yeah, Walking Dead might have been my 10th show if it had been cancelled after 2 seasons. Getting cancelled before you spin out into job preservation mode can be a feature.
I lasted thru season 7 then tapped out……seasons 1-6 I loved it……I may have to go back and pick up where I left off but it seems like it’s still going with spin offs and what not.

Also tapped out of Fear The Walking Dead after 2 seasons.

40 The Umbrella Academy kupcho1
The fact that my #40 didn't make the top 300 has, believe it or not, restored my faith in the board as I've got one or two ranked higher The Umbrella Academy that I did not expect to have rank.
On the other hand ... I thought The Umbrella Academy was very well done.

The Umbrella Academy | Official Trailer | Netflix

The show is based on the comic series of the same name; per Wiki:
The Umbrella Academy is an American comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. It follows a dysfunctional family of adopted superhero siblings with bizarre powers attempting both to save the world and find their place within it. Published intermittently by Dark Horse Comics, the comic is released in six to seven issue limited series, typically lasting six issues. Since 2007, three volumes have been published, as have two spin-offs. The fourth volume of the main series is currently in development.

The comic has garnered a close following and has been praised by critics, with the first limited series, Apocalypse Suite, winning of the 2007 Eisner Award for Best Finite Series/Limited Series.

Anyway, on with the show.

It's your #10, so I can assume your answer - does S2 continue the greatness, or does it dip a little?

My god I am now realizing some shows I completely missed……one in particular on Apple TV which was brilliant.

Man I am getting old and running out of processing power between my ears.

It’s ok. Season 1 is great …..season two starts going into “Lost” territory which for me sucks.

These shows go off the rails badly.

I am watching season 3 of course starting this week lol.

I did not do a list, but if I had, this would most have made it. Great cast and story. As with most shows that start strong, I just hope it the showrunners have a plan going forward.

I thought I would try to catch up on a couple loves from my list as the countdown goes on. As we go I will use the this countdown to write down ideas of things I haven't gotten to, but have access to on a streamer. Poor timimg for us to cancel a couple big streamers, but I trust you all will give me more than enough ideas for services I do have.

I have one show on that list on mine.

I
10 Criminal Minds Gally -- I probably should have considered this, we watched it pretty regularly for a few years. Very dark by network TV standards.
My thoughts on some of these shows are in bold in the quoted passage.
I am surprised it didn't make the top 300. It was on for 18 seasons (and still going) and was quite unique when it started. Sometimes if there is nothing else on and I don't want to get into something new I will just watch a handful of episodes. Some of the story lines going through episodes were interesting to make you mini binge some episodes.

Had some great guest stars like C. Thomas Howell and Tim Curry (really creepy).

Not surprised as this show was a little corny and formulaic. It was high on my list because my wife and I watched it all the way through together and I have a thing for Sarah Shahi.
I blew it, it should have been on my list. It was way less corny and formulaic than most things on network TV. It was excellent to begin with and got even better when Shahi and Amy Acker joined the cast.
I thought about having it on my list but it's been so long since I watched it I wasn't sure how well it stood up and I had enough shows already that I had to cut that I just left it off.

Honorable Mentions!

Here are the top 5 shows from all lists that did NOT make the top 300.

The Late Late Show with Craig FergusonEephus5

I probably should have had The Mole on my list because those first two seasons on ABC were brilliant. The celebrity seasons and the revival on Netflix are OK but don't have the same magic.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was a last-minute cut from my list (it was my first draft's #70) after the 45-51s revealed some things that I had missed. For about 2 years early in our marriage, my wife and I watched it regularly before bed, and it was the most deeply weird thing I'd seen on network TV since Late Night with David Letterman in the '80s. Like LNWDL, they would try anything because people staying up that late were more likely to be fascinated by it than repulsed.
I had The Mole on my list, and primarily so high, most because of those first two seasons. I've watched a fair amount of reality TV over the years, and I'm not sure I've ever obsessed over a show like I did the first season of the Mole. Yes, the Celebrity seasons weren't as good, and the Netflix reboot is enjoyable, but those first two ABC seasons were peak entertainment for me.

Your third-to-last show is on my list, albeit pretty far down.
The third one from the top is also on my list, reasonably high. Certainly wouldn’t call that trash at all.
#6 is on my list.

Crap. There's one I missed and should be on my Top 70. Oh well.

YES! My top didn't make it actually made it? Sweet!

@Scoresman , do you think you could post the revised also ran list in your first or second post so we don't have to search for it?

eta: I thought you had fixed it but I found the prior post and Disney is still listed as my top that didn't make it. Did you post the revised list?

Also, any interest in also providing the points earned by each show? I think that would be interesting to discuss.
