I forgot about that one - was definitely really good. There’s a new Vietnam doc on AppleTV that I’ve been meaning to check out.Ken Burns' The Vietnam War is my favorite documentary series based on a war.

Was in my top 70.pretty surprised that Fresh Prince didn't make the top 100. I think it's pretty iconic and is up there with Saved by the Bell and Family Matters (which I assume made the list) The theme song alone is worth at least a point. This was my 14. My wife loves little house and can't wait for netflix to destroy it.250-241

Watched it every Saturday after cartoons and before the Saturday afternoon game. Then Saturday night was Creature Feature. And then waiting till 1 in the morning to catch old Toho Godzilla flicks with horrendous english dubs. Was #57 for me. The only way we could see out of town highlights, even if they were a week old.Glad four others had "This Week in Baseball". Catching this on a Saturday when I was a kid was everything to me. Mel Allen was my hero.
And those opening and closing themes were glorious:

Yeah, nothing like BBT.Also wanted to chime in that Young Sheldon is a superior show to Big Bang Theory and that is a hill I will die on.
Brilliant casting. Annie Potts was amazing and the girl that played Missy killed it.
Craig T. Nelson was also underrated good in it. He’ll be around here a few other times, including the previously listed Parenthood. Also wanted to chime in that Young Sheldon is a superior show to Big Bang Theory and that is a hill I will die on.

I've only heard of about 60% of the shows and haven't watched a second of 75% of them.Just trying to figure out where I fall on the spectrum. I didn't watch a ton of TV in my youth or as a young unadult. To the point that I struggled to think of 50 shows that I watched to make my list. We are 80 shows in, and I have never watched a minute of 60 of them. And I have never heard of about half of those. Does this make me atypical? Clueless? Oblivious?

Also a heck of a typing teacher.
The new Georgie spinoff show, on the other hand, is brutal. Gave it two episodes before bailing.Agree.Craig T. Nelson was also underrated good in it. I honestly can't think of a show more recent that made me consistently laugh out loud. I had it at #19.
I've basically only ever seen it on airplanes. I enjoyed it.Also wanted to chime in that Young Sheldon is a superior show to Big Bang Theory and that is a hill I will die on.

It's legit brilliant at times. The subtle mocking but understanding of the conflicting mentality of Sheldon's mom and dad and the struggle of the siblings to cope with a douchebag but genius brother is very well done. For a network show, I found it smart and funny pretty much every episode.I've basically only ever seen it on airplanes. I enjoyed it.Also wanted to chime in that Young Sheldon is a superior show to Big Bang Theory and that is a hill I will die on.

I don’t know a good chunk of the shows here either as I’m not much of a series watcher anymore. That’s why a substantial proportion of my list comes from my younger couch potato days when the entertainment options were much more limited.Just trying to figure out where I fall on the spectrum. I didn't watch a ton of TV in my youth or as a young unadult. To the point that I struggled to think of 50 shows that I watched to make my list. It's better than bad, it's good! It's log! it's log! It's big, it's heavy, it's wood!
Hey kids! Start jumping up and down like idiots!
I, Claudius was #8 on my list. The production quality is very poor by today's standards (the sets, costumes, and makeup in particular). The acting is great if you can accept that it's more stage acting than screen acting, the cast is loaded with great actors. Derek Jacobi is obviously the feature, but Sian Phillips and John Hurt are particularly good in this. The story is as good as it gets. I also have the DVD set and have watched it so many times.I, Claudius was a great adaptation of a great book. The cinematography feels a bit dated since from the 1970s, but otherwise holds up as a predecessor to various modern political machination shows. I own the DVD set of it and enjoy popping in.
All of this is true and in retrospect, it should have been on my list. It was hard for me to consider spin-offs - I think I only ranked one. It's legit brilliant at times. The subtle mocking but understanding of the conflicting mentality of Sheldon's mom and dad and the struggle of the siblings to cope with a douchebag but genius brother is very well done. Lots of us liked The Rockford Files, but not very much![]()
Yeah, I had it at #63. I keep meaning to do a rewatch.Lots of us liked The Rockford Files, but not very much![]()
I doubt very much The Goodies makes this list. The Young One's was great. But The Goodies was better. I expect that should be a top-50 show here.
This is my #8 show. Not sure where the other buswanker has the show ranked. The Inbetweeners
Didn't have on my list, but it is hilarious
Re a) What an odd comment. Can you provide another example? The Inbetweeners never really cut it for me, but I'll allow it on the list because
a) Series that have an episode which is ostensibly set somewhere you know and hence you recognise when they are filming somewhere completely different are always funny
b) Buswankers

I had NOVA on my list as well. I’ve had my DVR set to record new episodes for years.NOVA came in at #58 on my list. Great at deep presentation of science and current developments at a very accessible level.

Forgot about this and probably would have included it. Another nostalgia-related sports show I considered wasGeorge Michael's Sports Machine

It's also why Jacobi keeps getting cast in all things Roman Empire in case you were wondering - he's a human memberberry.
the first half was so good. I was hoping it would be an anthology show, where they do a different case each season. too bad it was just one and done.I had the Night Of on my list. It peters out a bit at the end, but the first few episodes were riveting.
Spawned a whole cottage industry of these T-shirtsDallas - my #60 - I mainly had this ranked where I did due to the cultural phenomenon of the show. The whole Who Shot JR? cliffhanger captured the country’s attention like few other TV moments.
