The trades you've made this week...and why? (2 Viewers)

16 team re-draft leagueI gave J.Jones and C.Simms and I got Droughns. I'm afraid Jones is stuck in committee for the rest of the season at best, and loses the starting job due to his lingering injury at worst. Then with Simms, I have Bulger and wanted to strike while the iron was hot. I may have given too much, but I wanted Jones off my hands (and I still have MBIII)

Dynasty trade I just made, 14 team league, standard scoring, start 6 WR/TE/RB's:I gave McNabb & Chestor Taylor&I get Peyton Manning & Adrian Peterson.I am set to make the playoffs and shooting for the high point score for the league. Since my only other QB is Brunell, I didn't feel at all safe heading into the playoffs and I can use Peterson to back up my Thomas Jones in case of further injury to Jones. His team is out of the playoffs and gains a possible starting RB next year and keeps a top QB. My squad now looks like this:QB: Manning, Brunell, Garcia, GrossmanRB: LT2, T.Jones, Peterson, Patrick Pass, Travis Henry, LT's backupsWR: Harrison, Steve Smith, Terry Glenn, Kennison, D.Jackson, Chris Henry, Marcus RobinsonK: RackersDef: Giants

This is a 12 team dynasty league. On Friday night I traded:Marc Bulger QB Rams3rd round rookie pickforLamont Jordan RB Raiders5th round rookie pick

This hasn't been bumped in a while.

What offseason trades are you seeing?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Did I go overboard  ?

I just traded Shaun Alexander for Domanick Davis and Laurence Maroney.

It's a 12-team league where you can start 3 RBs and my RB corps was:

Alexander

Ricky Williams

Willie Parker

Kevan Barlow

Corey Dillon

My main thought on making the deal was "sell high". I'm confident that Alexander still has plenty in the tank and that, short term, this will *not* be a great trade for me. Still, Davis is only 25 (26 in October) and Maroney gives me the Pats rushing attack for the future.

With Ricky a write-off and Barlow's status being unknown, and Dillon getting to the end of the line, I felt the time was right to make this move.

Did I make a good move? (Not a "do I make this trade" thread as I've already made the deal.)

There have been a few in my dynasty league..

B.Stokley + 1.5

for

K.Curtis + T.Jones

B.Leftwich + A.Vinateri

for

Reg.Brown+R.Longwell+1.8

J.Jones+1.10

for

R.Wayne

C.Portis+E.Wilford

for

C.Johnson+1.10

With the draft nearing here in July for us it should pick up a little more.

I like the trade for you as believe that Alexander is the most likely of the top 3 RBs to fall out of the top 3 this year, maybe even out of the top 5.In a dynasty league earlier this week, traded:Portis + 2nd '07 for SJax + Tatum Bell + Charles RogersThink it could bite me on the butt as believe Protis is going to have a great year but I am high on SJax and needed help at my 2nd RB spot (have Ahman and Fragile Freddy so will play matchups with Tatum), also think that Rogers has some upside.Any comments?

Well I have had a busy offseason.

I ended last year finishing with the 2nd best record in the league and took 3rd place. It's a contract style dynasty league.

My Roster at the end of the season after my 2005 contracts expired (contract years):

QB - McNabb (1), B.Johnson (2)

RB - Tomlinson (1), SJax (4), C.Brown (2), Arrington (4)

WR - DJax (3), Porter (2)

TE - LJ Smith (1)

Then I went to work:

Trade #1 - Traded McNabb (1) for Brady (3)

Reasons - I figured they were close in comparison but getting Brady for the next three years was too good to pass up, since I was in the middle of FA $, this secured my QB position for a while.

Trade #2 - Traded SJax for $26, then took $$ and bought T.Holt

Reasons - With a ppr league, I thought that I would take a chance and load up on WR. With DJax and Holt I have a very solid WR corp. The reason I did this also helps my chances of signing a stud RB next year. In our league they usually go for $30-$35 (Alexander went for $29, Barber for $25, James for $22 this past year), so by saving my money, I put myself in a good position to get a Stud RB when LT's contract is up (this year Portis, LT, & LJ go on the market)

Free Agent Pickup - P.Burress for $7

Reasons - Now I can go with a three headed WR monster of Holt/DJax/Burress combined with LT, I was happy for that. I think that I got some good value for $7 (I started FA with $45)

Trade #3 - Traded $2 & 2nd round rookie pick for J.Stevens

Reasons - I needed a backup TE, one with some upside and youth. I like Stevens and think he can be solid. The 2nd round pick ended up being S.Moss

Trade #4 - Traded B.Johnson & $1 for R.Grossman

Reasons - I got totally screwed with the NFL schedule giving Brady and Johnson the same bye week, so I went out at found his replacement. If Grossman can stay healthy (big if) he has a nice matchup against Arizona the week Brady is off.

So after my wheeling and dealing, here's my team:

QB - Brady (3), Grossman (2)

RB - LT (1), Brown (2) , Fason (1), Arrington (4)

WR - Holt (5), Jackson (3), Burress (5), Porter (2)

TE - LJ Smith (1), Stevens (2)

Bump for 2006.

Note (and I added this to the first post):

This thread started as an idea from a staff member back in 2005. The point is to give a fair representation of what players are going for on the open market.

Note: This is NOT a "rate my trade" thread. Keep the questions like that out of here--we want to keep this thread in the SP.

One I saw this week, 0.5 PPR league:

Team A trades:

·Evans, Lee WR BUF

·Morency, Vernand RB HOU

·Winslow, Kellen TE CLE

For:

·Bell, Tatum RB DEN

·Burress, Plaxico WR NYG

·Crumpler, Alge TE ATL

i traded R. Moss for Holt in a dynasty league.

another trade in another dynasty league, not me.

Team A get Roy Williams

Team B gets G. Jones, K. Robinson and Wilford :bag:

I hope you like Maroney because D. Davis has dropped a looooooooooong way since you made this trade.

In a dynasty league filled with guys from this board, I made the following trade (ppr):

Gave: Engram, (2) 2007 2nd rounders

Got: Sinorice Moss, Dem. Williams, Jax Defense

I thought this was a very fair deal. The hard part was cutting two players to make room.

I traded my 10 and 15 for the 6 and 19. I wound up getting R Brown and Larry Fitz. I would have taken Fitz at 15 and would have wound up with Edge.

I also realized that I did not use my draft slots the way I wanted to and picked Braylon Edwards in the 15th. I wanted to get J Harrison so I wound up trading Edwards for a 20th round pick and took Harrison pissing off the Droughns owner who thought no one would take him

In a Dynasty League 12 team, start QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, 1FLEX (RB, WR, TE), K, DEF and .5 PPR for WR and TE only, I traded Scheffler and Greg Jennings for Vernon Davis and Michael Robinson. This could go either way I guess, but I like the value I got. Post-Favre probably isn't the best thing for Jennings, but I think he will be a good pro, but not great. I got Jennings late in the 2nd rd (2.07) of our rookie draft, so I didn't mind trading him in a deal for Vernon Davis. I liked Vernon Davis' future potential, even if he has a bad 2006. I like Michael Robinson for future years as well. Having said that, I think the other guy probably wins the deal for 2006, but that's it.

I traded Kevin Jones and a 2nd round rookie pick for Willie parker, Stephen Davis, and Deshaun foster. I went from starting J-Lew, KJ, R Moss, Mason, Moulds to J-lew, FWP, Davis, Moss, and Mason14 team dynasty league, 1 ppr
As a follow up, after this i traded Davis at his peak for a 2007 1st round pick, then Deshaun Foster at his peak for Westbrook and a 2nd. K Jones and 2nd in '06 for FWP, Brian Westbrook, 1st and 2nd in '07.

I gave:

Brown, Reggie PHI WR

Suggs, Terrell BAL DE

Parrish, Tony SFO S

Year 2007 Round 1 Draft Pick (I had acquired awhile back from the team I traded here with, should be a top 5 player now, probably was somewhere in the top 8 before)

Year 2007 Round 1 Draft Pick (mine)

I received:

Walker, Javon DEN WR

Kinney, Erron TEN TE

Williams, Kevin MIN DT

Umenyiora, Osi NYG DE

Polamalu, Troy PIT S

My thinking, is I have plenty of depth, a lot of Reggie Brown types ("potential" at WR), but only Hines Ward whom I know I can count on consistently. I intend to be a top contender this year, so I think this helps.

This team had just traded away Holt (on the cheap IMO), so he seems to be rebuilding.

Another trade, a week or 2 ago: I gave a high 2nd round pick for Kurt Warner. As the Leinart owner, it made sense. Warner now starts for me ahead of Ben.

On Thursday with the NE deadline approaching I traded Thomas Jones and DBranch for Chad Johnson and BCalhoun (I have KJones).
Man, that owner really doesn't follow the news on that crap, does he?Or, did he really need RBs?
He had CBenson and yes he needed RB help. We start 2 and a Flex. He has Carnell and Bush/McAllister and that is pretty much it.He knew Branch was holding out but I don't know how much he knew about it. I also gave up Stover for Vinitieri in the deal. I was hoping to make an IR move with Vinny so I could pu KCollins (2 QB league and I was counting on Volek/Young as QB3 behind PManning/Vick).

Zealots dynasty (53 man roster w/IDPs) trade that went down Monday:

I gave:

Tatum Bell

Joe Horn

Grant Wistrom

He gave:

Cedrick Wilson

TJ Duckett

Verron Haynes

Michael Boulware

2007 1st round rookie pick

This left me fairly thin at RB, but I feel like I got pretty good value for Bell. The owner I traded with had just won Mike Bell in an auction. Boulware's highly rated as a dynasty prospect & helps shore up my DBs, I get another 1st rounder, Wilson's in contention for my WR #4 (we can start 4), & if I get decent playing time/production out of Duckett or Haynes I think I did ok. Bell finished last year as a low RB #2 so I'm taking a bit of a gamble, but I like this coming draft class & wanted to get another pick for it.

One week ago in 12 team redraft I traded Brian Westbrook and Steve Smith for Tiki Barber and Roy Williams.

I felt that I got the better of this trade as both Smith and Westbrook are having injury concerns plus I ended up with two of the top 4 picks in our draft 1.02 Shaun Alexander and 1.04 Tiki Barber. I had to give up arguably the best WR and Westbrook who's golden in our 1 PPR league but I'm happy about it. I can upgrade a mediocre WR corp much more easily than I could with RB's.

Alexander for Maroney and Davis........Are you not thinking correctly or,...what?
This was before knowledge of Davis' knee issue was out and, for RBs, I only had:AlexanderDillonFWPRicky WilliamsKevan BarlowObviously, with Davis possibly being done, it's a bad trade. I just didn't think the knee was an issue when I made the deal (back in May).

Okay, just traded:

Aaron Brooks

Derrick Mason

Chris Brown

FOR:

Daunte Culpepper

Laveraneus Coles

Brandon Jacobs

In a standard PPR league with bonuses for 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing/receiving.

With Brooks and Farve, I needed an ACTUAL QB, and this was my opportunity.

I traded Jordan and got back Kevin Jones (RB2 spot).

A bit of a panic on my part but Jordan is @ Bal and then has a bye, so he's basically useless to me for the next two weeks. KJ has a tough matchup this week but I'm pretty high on him for the rest of the year.

WOW, you robbed the guy. Nice trade for you. I like all three Culpepper, Coles, & Jacobs better than what you gave away.

Dynasty league, reflects WCOFF

A week ago I sent

Brandon Jacobs

Drew Bledsoe

BMW

I got

TJ Houszmzmdmhad

Kevin Faulk

kicker

2007 2nd round rookie pick

I knew TJ wasn't going to play this week. Still needed to get young at WR - After Randy Moss I have Kennison and McCardell. I guess I'll get very burned if Jacobs turns out to be a stud one day.

I traded S Jackson and J Horn for Tiki Barber and K Johnson.

Losing Horn for Keyshawn hurts a bit, but I have good depth at WR. Jackson losing his center for the rest of the year hurts, plus Tiki is a machine. Of course now that I have him he will put up Lundy type numbers. Still trying to get B Jacobs but the owner seems to think he is worth more then C Benson despite the fact he owns THomas Jones. HA!
