The Trent Richardson Thread (1 Viewer)

I've been behind Trent for a long time, and own him in my dynasty after paying what felt like a fortune for a "top 5" dynasty RB at the time. Trade didn't pan out as poorly as it could have in terms of what I gave up, but at this point it's completely a sunk cost.

Has anyone sold recently in dynasty? I'm a contender and need production from the rb2 slot... Just not sure this clown can hack it right now. I really, really thought he'd realize he needed to get lighter and quicker and come back this season with much more explosion. Instead he looks hesitant and slow... I don't care if it's mental at this point... I don't see how the colts can depend on him, much less fantasy owners. While it's selling low to move him now, I could see how this guy is a roster albatross in a few months and worth nothing.
I suppose it's possible he finally does that heading into 2015... Bradshaw another year older, that offense is going to be consistently great for a very long time with Luck at the controls. I still maintain he doesn't look anything like the guy at Alabama from a quickness, explosion, speed perspective. Not even close.

Any chance Robert Herron "Wally Pips" Richardson if he misses a few games?
No. Although he should! I think Herron has real NFL ability.
You mean Dan Herron. Robert plays for the Bucs.
Yes, of course. Dan.
You're both wrong. In fantasy circles his first name is officially "Boom". I also believe there's a chance Boom Herron carves himself out a legitimate role btw.

In college he went by "Boom", but haven't heard or seen it used as a pro. He should be Boom Herron though.

Even Welker probably could have guessed the meaning via context clues..

Rotoworld:

Trent Richardson (hamstring) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

Colts beat writers are puzzled by Richardson's absence again Friday after coach Chuck Pagano said Thursday that Richardson would likely be limited. Richardson didn't practice at all this week, leaving his status for Week 8 against the Steelers in serious doubt. Ahmad Bradshaw would get a serious boost.

Rotoworld:

Trent Richardson (hamstring) is questionable for Week 8 against the Steelers.

He's going to be a game-time decision. Richardson is already sluggish at 100 percent, so he'd be nothing more than a borderline RB2/3 at less than full health. If he can't play, Dan Herron is expected to handle some of Richardson's workload. He's a north-south runner who showed he's hard to bring down in the preseason. Ahmad Bradshaw would gobble up a few extra looks.

Time to get Dan Herron (Boom, Daniel, whatever you want to call him) on the roster to see what he can do with Trent's carries. I'd bet Bradshaw gets more, but I'm highly curious to see what Herron's got.

I'm benching Trent for Decker for my flex, even if he plays if the game gets out of hand either direction he will sit. Herron for deep leagues is worth considering as a flyer / handcuff / goal line TD potential.

The Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder reports the Colts are "leaning toward sitting" Trent Richardson (hamstring) for Week 8 against the Steelers.

Any news on T Rich this week?

Sadly I am now a T Rich owner after someone dropped him two weeks ago, but with this Doug Martin walking boot news, if T Rich isn't playing this week, and the BYE looming ahead, he's pretty droppable from short benches, if he wasn't already.

he was droppable the day after you drafted him

Rb 20 in my ppr. I'm sure you only employ rbs 1-19 on your teams though.

Friggin genius you are man.

If you read my comment you would see that I didn't draft him.

Rb 20 in my ppr.
Mine too. Defies all reason but he's been pretty darn reliable in PPR this year. He's caught at least 3 passes in every game but two and is typically good for at least 40 yards rushing a game. He hasn't been spectacular obviously but he's pretty darn consistent for at least 8-10 points in PPR every week. With six teams on a bye this week that type of consistency could come in real handy.

Agree with this. Herron wasn't very impressive. I think the Colts missed Richardson more than they thought they would. Or more than most of us probably thought they would.
Herron had 1 carry..

I think IND went down early and they would've gone down early with or without TRich.
One carry and one catch. Instead of giving him close to Richardson's usual snap count they bumped up Bradshaw's. I thought that was pretty telling. I'm not saying I think Herron sucks or anything like that. I just wasn't all that impressed in this particular game and I do think the Colts could've used Richardson if for no other reason than to provide the offensive backfield balance they like.

Ultimately, though, it may not have mattered. That game was pretty much all on the Indy D or lack thereof.

I've had him quietly on my bench all year as a pleasantly surprising RB2 which is all fine and good on my bench. However, the situation dictates I may have to *gulp* start him this week. It's looking like Sims is my only other option with Murray on bye. What can we expect vs NE? It's not looking good because in the 3 games that IND lost he ended up with single digit scoring and NE more closely resembles PHI/DEN scoring capabilities than the other teams they played this year. He seems like a guy you want to start vs mid tier/bad teams. Cin/Hou/Ten/Jax all were double digit games. :sadbanana:

ETA: I also have Blue on my team, didn't realize Foster was out this week so I am leaning toward starting him now as he will get all the carries I think and TRich/Sims both will split.

I agree. I think bradshaw and trich both score and have good games. Obviously Bradshaw's play will be better though

What's amazing is that he is still only 23 years old. I can't believe his thread is 90 pages already. If he plays until age 30, this thread will be 400 pages long.

Huh.

RB27, RB30, and RB31 in FFppg in the 3 leagues I play in. That's bye week material only.

ETA - Bradshaw is RB10, RB10, and RB12 in those leagues.

.

If that's only "bye week material" depends on your starting lineups. I can start up to 4 RBs in a PPR so he's absolutely a starter.

Yeah, that's great if you can start 4, 5, or 7 RBs. He's a stud

I'm not the one playing in a league that allows 4 RBs to start. C'ya

Blue sets the bar high. If he didn't get vultured by Watt on that 1snt and goal on the 2 woulda been epic day, but no Way Trich has 150+ upside ooo ord does he?

It must be frustrating to be a Colts fan tonight watching them hand it to him on first downs when all he does is put his head down and go to the ground.

Of course I hope he comes around and does some damage at some point, but all indications are he wont....

1st and goal from the 2. Bradshaw has been in, but the quarter break gives TRich a chance to come in.

This. This is the moment where Trich owners' hopes are raised....just to have them crushed moments later. Enjoy it...

T-Rich has 5 carries for 0 yards, and he hasn't been the worst running back on the roster tonight. That's pretty impressive.
