Just, just wow.

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/367541-fbi-launches-new-clinton-foundation-investigation

The Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, law enforcement officials and a witness tells The Hill.

FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the Foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in coming weeks.

The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.

The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the Foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.
No sense of shame.

Boom, lawyered.
This whole feigning of how painful it is by the trolls to be called a troll is hilarious.

It’s just a cheap way to shut up their critics so they can troll some more, and no both sides do not equally do it. The false equivocation continues all the way down to the trolls on the right.

Keep the rolly trolly :lmao:  coming though boys while you asked if he has been impeached yet while the Clinton’s are molesting children yelling Benghazi on their email servers.

For the record I don’t think Dodds is trolling. I think fringe conspiracy theorists have had gasoline put on their sparks by alt right websites and have given them a false sense of beliefs as to what is normal behavior or facts.

Honestly if Dodds is just trolling that is even weirder than having lost his mind with Pizzagate. But whatever keep rolling out the draft dominator every year and you can have my money.

I admit, I literally just finished a playoff draft where I followed his rankings and never once thought to myself, "wait... pizzagate... why are you following this guy's advice?"

You know, I was curious about this so had my staff do some digging earlier.  I don't keep a good enough notebook so can't tell you whether these are "Trump" people, but you guys can judge for yourselves.

Unfortunately my staff quit in frustration at having to read some of this dreck, so I can't guarantee this is an exhaustive list.
Thank you krista4 for taking the time to research this. Indeed these were the people on the right that I was referring to, that in my recollection were agreeing with Dodds to shut down the board at some future point.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump

I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!
"Sloppy Steve"

While not a nickname, the Rubio water toss (mimicking his sweat) was objectively funny -- in a high school, mean-spirited sense.  But, I did genuinely laugh.

May have to start weighting Bob Henry a bit more.

Little tidbit - the voice guy for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is a Jewish Trump fan.

Hes a good bit off kilter, but still seems like a solid if not Uber weird dude.

Doesn't seem excellent for a mod and founder (?) of the site to engage in heavy trolling like that, does it?

And the alternative is that he's an insane conspiracy theorist who can't be reasoned with.

Not great either way.
The technical term is "social experimenting"

Anyone remember Garbage Pail Kids, from the 80's?  I hadn't noticed it until now, but his list of nicknames reads like a checklist for a series of the cards/stickers.  Topps needs to jump on this.

Wish I could give this more likes.

This thread moves so quickly that I can't remember if I saw this sweet rumor here or elsewhere -- that Bannon was planning to support Sarah Palin in the primaries against Donald in '20.

Of course, it was also reported that the Breitbart board was meeting today to discuss firing Sloppy Steve. So good luck to him being a playa if that happens.

Propaganda and conspiracy theories are not only effective against idiots.

I think you underestimate the extent that even very smart people can believe things that seem absolutely ridiculous to the rest of us.  And be so confident in the truth of those unfathomable beliefs  that they actually think that those of us that don’t share them are crazy or ill informed.  Exhibit A is religion.
These are both probably valid points. I surely don't have a good handle on the way conspiracists think. But, whatever other malarkey Dodds is enjoying in the recesses of his brain, there's no way he believes that Donald Trump is some sort of misunderstood genius.

You can't get anyone supporting the President to actually engage on the first three issues.
FYP.

Seriously, I think this is why we get these slapfights.  People here like to debate stuff on the internet, simple as that. But there's no chance of substantive, respectful discussion these days. Trump supporters just refuse to have those discussions. I've tried countless times, and countless others have as well.  It almost never works, and even when it does it turns into a one-sided rout because Trump's statements and actions are by and large indefensible (see our exchange yesterday with Stealthycat about voter fraud in the Trump Lies thread).

I don't know the answer, but we should at least be honest about the source of the problem. This place wasn't like this when we were debating the Iraq War or TARP or Obamacare or Snowden. It's like this because of how much Trump sucks and how little his supporters can/will discuss the issues.

You're one of the most disrespectful people on this forum and quickly drag down discussions with accusations of sexism, racism, and whatever other nonsense you come up with to deflect.  You don't handle it well when you the person you're debating doesn't allow you to drive and control the conversation.  But keep on with that ridiculous them I bolded that it's always the other side from you.

Let's give it a shot and see how it goes.

Yesterday the Trump administration announced two major policy shifts.  One, the Department of the Interior announced a Draft Proposed Plan for offshore drilling that would completely overhaul the existing 2017-22 plan and allow for offshore drilling in areas that have been off-limits for decades.  article

Two, Attorney General Jeff Sessions rescinded an Obama-era directive to ease off on enforcement of marijuana laws in states that have legalized.  article

Each of these would be huge, headline-grabbing news in a normal administration. I would love to discuss the merits of these decisions- I oppose both.  Anyone care to defend either of them?

This is simply true

Jobs report was a little less than expectations, but still pretty good (148,000 jobs added.) The stock market continues to go through the roof. I have a couple of thoughts here:

1. Many progressives I listen to (on MSNBC, CNN, etc.) want to give the President NO credit for any of this, citing Obama’s last years in which the economy was already growing. While I think this argument has some merit, it’s a bit simplistic. Many of these same people predicted an economic crash or severe downturn after Trump was elected; that didn’t happen.

2. Many Trump supporters, and Trump himself, are jubilantly giving the President ALL of the credit. This seems even more simplistic than the progressive POV.

3. IMO, there is no doubt that Trump’s cutting of regulations are having a positive effect on economic growth, though how much of one is hard to quantify. There is also no doubt that the corporate tax cut has already played a role in helping the stock market boom (as anticipation of it did last year.) Again, how much is hard to quantify.

4. That being said, I continue to believe that the tax bill will have a long term negative effect on the economy because it continues to increase the growing disparity between the haves and have-nots in this country. Even more importantly, Trump’s trade policies, specifically his rejection of TPP and his attempts to renegotiate existing trade agreements will come back to haunt us.  Years from now I do not believe that we will look back and think of Trump as a good economic President, any more than most historians think that Calvin Coolidge was a good  economic President (Coolidge governed during a time of great economic growth, but his policies helped bring on the Great Depression a few years later.)

I think you are pretty on point with the reality being in between 1 and 2 somewhere and 3 I think is definitely creating a positive economic environment. On 4 I think TBD, who knows but I’m sure if it is a failure it will be changed well before these 2027 doom and gloom projections. Good post.
