He's always blown up when he hit bad shots. That's not the issue. The issue is the pressure. His nerves are making him human. He needs a new horse whisperer type. Or Steve.
It all started with the knee in 2008. He beats Mediate on one leg, has surgery and has to sit out the rest of the year. That was the first significant blow to his dominance. People say that his dad's death was the first blow but he was dominant for two years after that, probably because he still had a "protector" in his golf life (Williams) that allowed him to maintain that laser-like focus on winning. So the knee happens and when he returns in 2009 he's definitely and understandably taken a step back. He missed the cut at The Open that year and then loses a head to head dual with YE Yang that year at the PGA. The loss to YE Yang was the second significant blow, this time mental. The Terminator is seen as human, by the public and probably for the first time by Woods himself. A few months later comes the Thanksgiving confrontation with the wife along with the unraveling of his public image. Significant blows #3 and #4. The emotionally childish Tiger is now forced to be publicly contrite. His home life unravels. The one thing he could always count on, his on course dominance, is no longer. He's completely lost. In 2011 he hurts his leg again and while on the shelf, completely overreacts to Williams temporarily picking up another bag and fires him. Significant blow #5. His protector is now gone. So here we are in 2013. Things seem calm in his personal life. His image has somewhat recovered. He's had time to adjust to the new guy on his bag. He starts the year strong with 4 wins and a near miss at Augusta. But it's obvious he's no longer the guy he was in 2008. He's suffered too much damage. He's eventually going to win a major but the Terminator is dead. Now he's just another really good player.
