Because when important events in human history occur that have nothing to do with politics, it takes a serious level of insanity to make sure you inject politics into it.  Sometimes good things are just good things.  Sometimes historic events are just historic events.  Not everything is a referrendum on a certain political party or policy or a way to open the door to attack a political opponent.

Like at this moment, I could be attacking you for wasting so many of your posts on a sea monster like Hillary Clinton, or your insane position on illegal immigration but I'm not.  I'm letting that slide and just trying to enjoy the moment.

Who do you thin people will remember more - Bernie Sanders run for the Democratic Nomination, or some guy on the internet hitting 99,999 posts then suddenly walking away, as though breaking the mythical barrier means nothing.

People will forget about Sanders by next year - but you, you have a chance to go down as one of the immortals.  Our grandkids' grandkids will research you when doing reports on the old internet system, and how ancient people used to communicate.

Almost every important event that takes place has politics involved. Unimportant events like this one do as well. 

 
And calling Hillary a sea monster doesn't hurt her at all in my eyes. I was a huge fan of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. If Hillary is a sea monster then I am Johnny Whittaker. 

 
I would respect forever the mods here if once he hits 99,999 they just shut down the board for an unscheduled maintenance day without warning.  tim hits 99,999 and all of the sudden......................

Every once in a while, something comes along that ties us all together as FBGs.  Jerry Rice not being a HOFer, Marshall Faulk's battle with ball cancer, a camping trip gone awry, pointing to the shirt, the bull#### money grab, etc.  This is one of those moments.

I dispute that.  The Red Sox beating the Yankees in the ALCS after being down 3 games had nothing to do with politics and it is probably the most important moment in baseball history of the past 25 years.

 
100,000th post should be something completely out of character.

Post about doing the potato diet or something tim.  Do something cool outside of the politics stuff IMO

I just did a google search for "forum members with 100,000 posts."  The entire first page is a list of websites  - full websites - being happy that their forums - their entire forums - have a total of 100,000 posts.  

See that tim - you are bigger than entire forums all by yourself.  This could be a Beatles bigger than Jesus moment for you.  Wait, you're jewish.  This could be more important than the guy that thought sweet wine was a good idea.

 
Think I'll start a US Presidents WW and we can get tim a nice 10-15k headstart on 200k.

And those politics are dictated by $$$...and that $$$ comes from all kinds of places, right Tim? Even outside interests abroad?

He's starting to get nervous.  Normally he would have already responded to like 9 of the posts on the past two pages.  The goal line is making him question himself.

You want to bring up politics all the time Tim...let's talk politics. You and I don't influence the government or really anyone on these boards so you want to talk about it so bad, let's discuss who is really running things around here. 

 
tim - Woodrow Wilson was too low in my rankings.  I'm thinking of changing him to be 6th overall.  Right behind Andrew Jackson at 5.  Gonna bump down FDR and Truman.  It just feels right.

Top post about book - although we probably need sub categories here.

We could use about 15 more categories.  We need at least 10 drafters and judge.  I want to judge top posts about WWII Russia from the vantage point of a small jewish boy on the coast of Egypt after having not eaten in 4 days. (There has be like 40 of them at least, right?)
