TNF on Amazon Prime **Jags at Jets** (-2, 37) (1 Viewer)

Chilly but not freezing. Maybe wet. Hot QB. Not so hot QB. Defense that makes plays now and` then. Defense that has been solid all year. Maybe last mistake loses? Could be a low scoring mistake prone game. I'll give a slight edge to the home team in some weather...

J-E-T-S- 20
J-A-G-S- 17

I'm a Jets fan, and this is no reverse jinx. The Jags are beating some very, very good teams and Lawrence looks like he's worthy of the number one pick overall from 2021. QB play wins in the NFL. Yes, it might be cold and rainy and I'm sure the Meadowlands winds won't be too docile, but still. . .

Jags 24
Jets 13

eta* revising downward

Jags 20
Jets 13

I'd like to be around the over/under line. It sounds right. I edited this at 2:14 EDT/11:14 PDT.

Jets have the better defense and the frigid home field advantage. But the recent play of the QBs couldn't be more different. Going with Jags 23 Jets 17.

Looks like predicted 45° with cold rain (100%) at kickoff. Says 100% heavy rain through the next many hours.

Could be a sloppy mess. And it’s TNF, so could be another low scoring classic. Maybe 1-2 defensive scores by the Jets tonight.

Prediction: Jets 26, Jags 16

Thu 22 | Night

44°

100%
ESE 19 mph
Rain. Low 44F. Winds ESE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Locally heavy rainfall possible.

Very important game for both teams…two young teams that have made nice strides this year and still have realistic playoff aspirations…the winner of this game will be feeling very good about themselves….big spot for both QBs…Lawrence is showing why he was looked at as a franchise level QB and winning a game like this would continue that ascension…Wilson needs to prove to his team they can count on him not to screw it up so the spotlight will be on him in a big way…he can not be not be reason the Jets lose tonight If he hopes to have a future with this team.

As a Jets fan, we all know how this story ends.

Zach plays like garbage, likely commiting an impossibly stupid turnover in the bad weather that costs them the game. And the Jets playoff hopes are officially squashed by the QB they SHOULD have had if they just had the ability to tank properly when a generational guy was right there for the taking.

He's right. The Jets circled the wagons that year and won two games, beating Jacksonville by one game. 2-15 vs. 1-15. Jacksonville, with a reasonably healthy Minshew, chose to start Luton and Glennon that year towards the end. They tanked with their personnel and won by doing it.

NFL needs a lottery because what the Jets did was right, but it cost them so much of the future, whereas Jacksonville benefitted from doing sorta wrong.

This should be a good game despite it being on Thursday
Is the theory that it’s a matchup of two of the least compelling teams so two negatives will equal a positive?
It is my belief. Jags have more competitive lately?
I was joking mostly - I actually find both of these teams to be quite compelling.
Seems like both are fighting to prove their viability imo.

Two good teams heading in the right direction - never thought I would be saying that back in August... I like the Jets a LOT better with Mike White playing. With Wilson I feel like there will be more growing pains to overcome.

On a clean track, I like the Jags here 27-13

If its a sloppy mess, still like the Jags... 19-9.

The Cam Robinson season ending injury could have an impact on the game tonight as the replacement is Walker Little, and you know the Jets will test him to see if they can get extra pressure with their pass rushers. Walker Little was well regarded as a draft prospect in 2021; however, this article gives me some concerns for Trevor Lawrence tonight:

Jaguars vs Jets Odds, Prediction: Expert Makes Thursday Night Football Pick

Excerpt:

Left tackle Cam Robinson suffered a season ending knee injury last week, which means Walker Little is expected to start. Little has been a disaster in limited action this season. According to SportsInfoSolutions, he has a 10% blown block on the season. Anything over 4% would be considered poor, but 10% is exceptionally bad. I would not be surprised if he continues to struggle Thursday Night and it becomes an in-game talking point.

Right guard Brandon Scherff and right tackle Jawaan Taylor have been limited in practice, so they are names to keep an eye on for the final injury report. If either one or both of them are held out, it could make an already shaky offensive line even worse.

Quinnen Williams was able to get in a full practice, which means the Jets will likely be getting their stud lineman back and will put even more pressure on the Jaguars offensive line.

This is good info.

A lot of the Jets D vs Jags O matchup will be dependent on the healthy of Quinnen Williams. He missed last week and the trickle-down effect on the Jets pass rush was very obvious. They've got a deep stable of pretty capable guys but he's the only difference maker (although Bryce Huff's per/snap stats are pretty insane, he's a situational player). When he isn't there to draw all the double teams (which he's still capable of beating. He's been THAT guy this year) it allows the other team to pretty much man-up and block the rest of the crew.

He's probably playing tonight, but you wonder how effective he'll be. If he's not himself, Lawrence will have a lot more time to throw.

I’ll be cheering for the J E T S 🛩️✈️🛩️
But yeah, probably
Jags 24
Jets 13
Silly Jets fan - predict with your heart not your head!

everything I’ve seen so far indicates that Quinnen Williams is on track to play.

Word. I know OZ's team from our days in the music drafts in the FFA. He used to go by another name most of that time, but OZ it is now.
😆 I killed FUBAR when I retired.
Well now you’re either great & powerful, or you bite the heads off of bats onstage.

Both acceptable options, IMO.
Both is good.
Ignore that man behind the curtain singing Crazy Train.

8pm Kickoff-light rain, 100% chance of it but light steady rain in the cold
0.11 inches expected which for an hour is pretty light

9pm-2nd Q and its more steady light rain
0.16 inches of rain expected during this time. Not even a 1/4 inch of rain, 1st Half would appear like the teams could pass the ball

Roughly a 1/4 of an inch of rain over the first half tonight if I am reading this correctly which I could be off here

2nd half of that game I don't have a good beat on yet but it projects similar rain amounts
I was expecting a lot more

Likely starting Etienne and G.Wilson tonight.

I think the Jags should win, so since this is Thursday night and two teams who never do what I think they should, I'm predicting a J-E-T-S victory.
