Yeah I got the sheriff killed too thinking I was doing the right thing. And I didn't move fast enough to get Burke... who I have never seen again and now Tenpenny Tower is a bloodbath of a place.

But once yiu defuse the bomb go into the sheriff's house and his son will give you the key to the house.

I got the house key and I grabbed the bobblehead from the Sheriff's bedroom.

A sign you are playing way too much ####### Fallout:

I woke up with morning singing "I'm in love with a wonderful guy". I think might have to switch off 3 Dog for awhile, but I just hearing about any updates about my exploits in the wasteland.

The armory was a dud. Was hoping for way more loot than that. Also stumbled upon Agatha's House. Been mostly wandering aimlessly, and realized that I had 3-4 quests waiting that required my ### to get over to the Mall area, so Jericho and I hit the tunnels and headed over there. Didn't do much besides clear out some Mutants and get the buildings marked for fast travel. Talked to the slaver at the Lincoln Memorial and he wants me to locate that guy up north for him.

Still have only found one more Chinese Assault Rifle since giving the guy in Paradise Falls 17. Don't usually do it, but I am tempted to go back to Mama Dolce's to see if those Chinese Remnant Ghouls respawn. Getting annoying not having a decent place to trade (also haven't stumbled upon Lucky after investing in his caravan)

I think NC mentioned something about not having invested more than 500 caps in a caravan. I tried, and that is the max level you can go. So it would be 2800 caps to invest fully in the caravans running around.

Swamp people suck.
They are tough. And my one complaint with that DLC was the toughness went up way more than the value of what you scavenged did. But it was a lot of fun. Have you done the Chinese espionage bit yet?
No but that sounds fun. I cleared out the mansion for the ghoul and then went to the church to be told to go to the Swamp. Did that. Killed everything. Got the fruit and hallucinations. Found the missing chick and helped her kill the boat guy. Then I went back to the mansion and kept going from there to the store with Girl on the BoardWalk to sell everything. Tons of axes and rifles.

I have to go tell the ghoul why they attacked him next I think but now I can go back and forth to the wasteland for free so I might do that and check out something else.

Check out the motel that's where you get the start of the Chinese espionage quest. I don't want to spoil it but I think you want to do it before you get too far along in the main story line.

I don't think I even remember there being an option to invest in the caravans.

What does it get you? A discount, or they have more cash to buy stuff or something?

Both. You get a discount and they are supposed to get better stuff to sell you. Seemed like a waste to me after I played along far enough. They never had anything I couldn't or hadn't found on my own.

I agree, probably why I never did it.

Never really had a shortage of caps from merchants. Just fast travel between the best 4 or 5 and by the time you get back to the first, they should have restocked. Especially if you do them in an order that has each fast travel going longer distances so more in game time passes during it. I hit Underworld last time I played in large part so I could add Tulip to the merchant rotation.

I generally rely on Rivet City and Megaton. I really only hit Underworld once or twice.

I think my rotation was Rivet City, Megaton, Underworld, Paradise Falls and Evergreen Mills.

Yeah I killed everyone in Paradise Falls and Evergreen Mills. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I am pretty sure that investing also gives them a bit higher repair skills to help with that (if you use that option)

I thought that Evergreen Mills is just a bunch of Raiders who want you dead. I just remember usually killing everybody in there. Where is the trader?

I am working on Paradise Falls, but not much there right now. I blew up Megaton, so that's out. I screwed up while enslaving Flak in Rivet City. Somebody saw me, and a firefight ensued. There goes my Rivet City trading. The guy at Tenpenny doesn't have a lot either. Thought investing in the caravans might be a decent option, but that was about 4 levels ago, and I haven't come across anybody but the armor guy since.

I guess what I need to do is get to all the stops on the caravan trade route and just fast travel around to the stops and find these guys. I guess the Underground might be an option soon too.

Karma, what level are you? I had no problem finding rifles, but I did that quest late in the game. IIRC, enemy strength and their corresponding weapons/loot gets better the higher your level. When I got up to level 30 it was constantly Super Mutant Overlords with Tri-Beam laser rifles coming after me for example.

The shop is in a cave in the back. That's where you get the Terrible Shotgun.

11 I believe.

I suck at games, so I am sure I am at normal hardness level.

I don't have a harddrive, so no DLs, and no level 30.

yeah, I think I always just killed him and took his loot and gun.

Did a quick google search and confirmed that at "medium" levels you'll start seeing Talon Mercs & Super Mutants carrying them. You can find 5 in the Central Metro and enemies will respawn carrying them at Fort Bannister. Can also buy them in Rivet City at 1 of the merchants.

To be fair, in this video game as in life, killing everyone is often a good idea.

Better to go to a single stop used by most like Megaton or Rivet City. Then just stay there and hit wait and let them come to you. Otherwise you might keep missing them.

Yeah, I honestly keep forgetting about that wait button. I think maybe I have used it 2 times total in all the time I have played.

I am currently getting my ### handed to me inside Fort Bannister. Not sure Jericho is going to make it out of this one.

Was wandering around trying to find Evergreen Mills, and found this instead. Made the mistake of going down into the bunkers. I am getting a lot of weapons and by the time I get out, I might level up just from this place.

I did find Lucky outside Arefu. It did improve his stock a bit. Was able to buy a couple run down miniguns and sniper rifles so I could fix up what I had. Ammo got a little better too. As was discussed, might be a good investment early, but as you start finding your own weapons and getting your Repair up, it probably isn't worth the 700 caps to do it.

Killing everyone may not solve the problem but it does give you more time to look for the answer.

Couldn't sleep, so now there is a self aware android, a dead Commonwealth rep, and me in possession of the plasma rifle plus having the Commonwealth's wired reflexes perk.

I love quests where you can get both sets of rewards. I'm a "have my plasma rifle and fire it with wired reflexes too" kind of person I guess.

Well played. I totally screwed up the whole android thing some how. Have to get it right next time.

I assume you tell the rep about the android & get his gift, as he goes to get him you kill him, and then tell the android and get the rifle?

what does the reflex present get you exactly?

Fired up my last save game from about 6 months ago. It had left off just after Raven Rock (hate that you can't revisit that place) with the final mission to go.

Anyway, headed out with Liberty Prime and spent some time laughing at the dialogue as he did his thing. "Communists detected on American soil. Lethal force engaged!" Communist engaged!, etc... :lmao:

Increased reaction speed, so higher chance to hit in VATS.

Yes though I did the opposite order. Woke the android's memories, asked android if I could be the one to kill the rep, got the rifle, then told the rep and killed him after getting the perk.

ah, didn't know it was an option to ask to kill him yourself.

Quest called the Replicated Man. You can start it by picking up any of several holotapes lying around the game. Tulip in Underworld has one. Also can go to the science lab in Rivet City and talk to the Commonwealth rep to start it, I think.

Moira has a tape too. Not in her inventory, but on her table - that you can take without stealing.

No idea what I've done to my machine but this game crashes on me every 5 minutes now. Ungood. May need to re-install or something. Was getting tired of neutral karma anyway - I really like getting ambushed.

Ok I know that mission. I think I agreed with the black lady to do the right thing whatever that was.

Did the sub mission. Rather dull. Saved before I went to spy bunker.

Biggest issue I've had is sometimes it'll dump me out to Windows like I alt-tabbed out. The game is still running, and on rare occasions I can switch back to it, but most of the time I have to kill it. The majority of the time it does it right after I fast travel, so i have an auto save point right before it and don't lose anything.

Saw other people on Steam have had the issue. One guy said he did some trouble shooting, turning off every service and then turning them back one by one slowly to see which caused it. Said it was the Windows error reporting service. I haven't played since but next time I do I'm going to try disabling it while I play and see if it helps.

Edit to add: Figured it was likely he was just seeing the error reporting thing from something else that failed. Looks to be the case. Disabling it didn't help.

Mother ship zeta is fun. Killing aliens is entertaining. But the quests are tedious. I ran around the cryogenic area for an hour tonight and gave up. Still need to blow up two generators.

Left Point Lookout after finishing killing the brain. Decided that Desmond was annoying so I ended him right after he told me my reward was whatever I found. Scum. Took his stuff too.

R.I.P. Jericho.

Was heading over to Casey's garage to get Dad are start that mission, and was going over a bunch of rocks. I think he had to go around and got caught by a few Radscorpions. Just fascinates me that the companions I had could storm in against Mutants and Talon Comp. baddies but get taken out by the mutated animals in the game so easily. Going solo now for a bit. After starting the Chinese Invasion sim, that seemed to get me enough Karma to turn me to evil instead of Very Evil. Will miss that guy - loved giving him grenades. The dumb ### was throwing them against Molerats and other weak foes. Good for a few laughs.

Headed over to Evergreen Mills and cleaned that out, and now have the terrible shotgun. Thought the Wasteland Survival guide being active was a fluke, so got food at the Super Duper Mart. Seems as though Ghoul Moira is at the Underworld now, and I can still do that quest. Have that one live, also talked to Reily, so that is an option as well. So many choices. I think I am at level 15 now. Have more trading options as well - Moira, Tulip, Paradise Falls, the Caravans. Dumped a bunch of weapons and stuff, so I think I am at 5-6K in caps as well.

If you got the Alien Blaster make sure you pick up all the ammo for it. The place is loaded and it's all there is really. Also all the Alien repair gel you can grab. It will come in handy to keep your new weapons working.

you can mention something about the ghoul from Moriarty's to another underworld resident and say he is dead/you killed him by blowing up megaton, but Moira acts exactly the same after the initial comment from what i remember.

I llied... MS Zeta sucks. I really hate this now. No fun at all. And tired of the girl telling me oh I guess they turned off that door too. Please tell me I'm close to the end now that I did the space walk and I'm making way through the lab. ..

IIRC the end is near after the space walk.

So got my New Vegas on for just a bit this weekend. Finished up the ghoul quest at the rocket test site. Was neat to see them take off. But man there is a bit of run around in that one. KInd of digging the Nightkin guys. Tough to kill. And since they use stealthboys harder to see. I guess there is a way to do this friendly but I didn't know that and killed all of them instead. Oops. Maybe I'll go friendly next time. Save some ammo and time.

After dealing with the ghouls in space I found out where my friends from graveside went and took off in pursuit. Then I ran into the Legionary Assassins. Wow. These guys ain't playing. They are hard to kill at this level and there was a half dozen. I mean the Talon guys only sent 3 or so at a time. I ended up grenading them. Took the starch out of them. But it took me a couple of deaths to figure out I needed to get that intense with it. Also finally got a room to store stuff. Bought a rental at Novac. Seems like it is all mine until the end. I did make it to the next town but I have to go save hostages to get to the guys I want. So I stopped there for the evening.

I feel like this version of the game is a little tougher than 3 was. I seem to die more often. Of course I found Super Dog so early last time that might be the difference as I am companion free right now.
