TO Crying (1 Viewer)

"That's my quarterback *sniffle*"

He's 0-2 in games where he tells the fans to "get your popcorn ready," for whatever that's worth.

Not sure how to feel about this. TO gets knocked if he attacks his QB, and he gets knocked when he gets emotional defending him.

Sure, seeing him cry is weird, but it's tough to lose a playoff game. Plus, TO is kind of unstable, with his "non" suicide attempt, etc.

I don't think it shows a lack of class to defend your teammate. TO is just a weird guy.

I meant to say that starting this thread showed a lack of class. I've seen many top athletes let their emotions get the best of them. It's like Romo said, these guys devote their entire lives to accomplishing a goal and when they come up short it hurts.

I'm pretty sure T.O. said "get your popcorn ready" more than twice btw.

and all the Romo/Owens hate is getting pretty tired

When Owens apologizes to Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb, then I can listen to him talking about him QB love. For now, he strikes me as quite the hypocrite.

T O says some really bonehead things from time to time but you have to admit he`s a true world class competitor and he plays hurt trying to win the ultimate goal in footbal , the superbowl.

For an athlete at his age to get this close and knowing he`s running out of time has to be painful...

I am not a fan of Terrel Owens, but it is nice to see him sticking up for his team and his QB for a change instead of throwing him under the bus. He is a strange dude, to be sure, but it isn't exactly rare to have the camera pan to players of teams that lose in the playoffs (of any sport) and see them tearing up.

That's funny coming from Romo San Lucas. He obviously isn't dedicating his entire life to the goal of winning games.

Just give him time...Von

He's a pretty easy target, but he's also deflected quite a bit of attention away from Romo. T.O. had a lot to complain about after not one throw going his wayo n the "game-winning" drive. He chose to emote...it's all very silly.

Romo has always had his back, and now T.O. has his back. Tears aside, It's interesting. Donovan, in T.O.'s eyes was always in management'spocket. McNabb never went to bat for T.O. when T.O. needed him too...crap, McNabb just threw his current "playmakers" under the bus a week ago, so everyone needs to recognize how important loyalty seems to be to T.O.. It's a bit twisted, but Owens will stand by guys, who stand by him...not unreasonable. It even makes sense.

Irvin feels the same way about Aikman.

Ask Koren Robinson about Favre, Ask Javon about Favre...2 different responses.

You listen to Chad Johnson talk about Carson, it's the same way. I've heard him plenty of time come to Carson's defense, and vice versa. So when you hear talk about a rift, it's laughable.

Cry behind closed doors, but I do like the sunglasses.

How exactly do they "have each others' back?"

Everyone has buried TO because he he has consistently been all about "me" -- well he hasn't been a troublemaker since he got to Dallas and he's talking about how they lost as a team rather than throwing someone under the bus.

Much like Hines Ward -- do I want to see him crying on TV? Not especially. But compared to how TO has been in the past, if you had told the the Shark pool last year that after a playoff loss TO would be on TV telling reports not to place blame on anyone but the team, no one would have bought it. He, and the Cowboys will be back ready to make some noise next year.

Good post. Typical of most TO situations he can't win no matter what he says. The haters will hate.

I'm no TO fan, but does this does seem like TO can't win here, he's backing up his teammate and getting crap for it.

Agreed. I wonder what McNabb and Garcia thought of that. But I don't know how you can rip a guy for defending his QB. Guy is one of the toughest and most passionate competitors in the game. Love him or hate him, there's not a lot of room for discussion on that point.J

How'd Westbrook look in the playoffs this year?
 typical
As if this topic deserves serious discussion. TO is ripped no matter what he says. He'd get ripped for saying nothing. If he had 200 yards and 3 TDs yesterday, he'd get ripped for not having 220 and 4. He defended his QB, and a guy starts a thread ripping him. So yeah, typical.
The fact that he was playing at near full speed is pretty miraculous considering his injury.

 TO has some mental issues.
And is way to hormonal, which would explain his wild mood swings.

Him saying a hypocritical thing like, "I have had the back of every QB I have ever had," is a huge reason why. I give Owens mad props for gutting it out and playing hurt yesterday, but for him to say something like that is just inviting criticism, considering the ####storm he caused in Philly by bashing his QB.

i don't see the big deal. the guy is upset because they lost. his team choked. he works probably the hardest on the team and is upset others don't. he only has a few more years at most.

I think Owens was so choked up because when he scored and gave the ball to that little kid in the front row it looked as if the kid was going to give it back to him. No reaction at all, one of those funny side notes to a strange game. :kicksrock:

Hey Von,DId you know that your name actually appears to the left of all your posts, thereby negating the need to sign all of them?

Just thought I'd share. Have a fantastic day.

It's a game they should have won. Not sure why Romo didn't keep throwing at TO and Witten when they had two full drives at the end of the game to do it.

As for TO...seems he's committed to Romo and got emotional. I would think that's a good thing.

I could be wrong, but I believe he was poking fun at the guy he was responding to for the unfunny shtick of ending his posts with 'Ni'

Don't think so.. he's signed a lot (if not all) of his posts so far. :)

This is where it's at. TO has been so close to that trophy....if you turn up the volume loud enough, you can hear the ENTIRE comment he's making...."The vacation(under his breath-that I was thinking about taking with Jessica myself after I win the superbowl, I even said getcha popcorn ready, but Romo denied me of this) and if you do that, it's really unfair. (Not getting TO a ring) It's really unfair. (Romo taking away my ring again)that's my teammate, (he's supposed to be looking out for #1...TO but) that's my quarterback (so don't go blaming this on anyone except Romo) and if you do that, it's really unfair(because he will tell you that) we lost as a team, we lost as a team man(but TO didn't lose anything....TRADE ME to New England). That's what I heard anyway. Just having fun-

I dunno...I think there are way too many guys around (not just on this board, but everywhere INCLUDING my best buds who sit with me at Eagles games) who are just looking for something to rip TO for. This is the NFL so OF COURSE crying in a press conference is going to be met with derision. But honestly, the way most people are slinging around insults; I wonder how many in an honest moment can say they haven't teared up in a moment of sadness. On top of all that, love him or hate him, T.O. seems to have genuine mental health issues IMHO. I don't think he's a guy who simply is a jerk, I think he's a guy who has deep seeded emotional issues and, as a result, I think we sometimes see him at highs most of us never attain and are also privy to the lows.

Whenever T.O. comes up, I think back to an interview I heard with Steve Young during the whole T.O./McNabb brouhaha. Young said that T.O. is really a wounded little kid with father issues and, as a result, the ONLY way to deal with him [whether it's rational or not] is to be completely upfront with him and also always have his back. He's the epitome of "if you're with me, you're with me...everyone else is against me." Young said that he and TO never had an issue because one time TO pouted about a misconceived issue Young had with him and rather than ignore it and tell TO to "man up" he went over, put his arm around him and told him that he loved him. Again, not something most NFL guys would be apt to do, but I think it's telling that Young and TO never had issues. In this case, I think Owens has really gotten along with Romo and, as a result, he feels like he would do anything for the kid.

Sure, as an Eagles fan I'm glad Owens didn't get a ring with Dallas this year. But the guy has become tragic to me. There are, to my mind, TONS of easier guys to hate in professional sports.

He did apologize to Mcnabb and even admitted that he should have done some things differently in that situation. FWIW

I doubt there are any tough guys here in this thread that put a years worth of effort into something only to fail in the end. There were probably other players who cried at home last night but T.O. is just strange enough to get caught on camera doing it.
