Trade value of young RBs (1 Viewer)

I was wondering what some of you have been able to get, or willing to pay, for Norwood, Bell, Lundy and Morency. If I am forgetting anyone else in similar position, please include them as well.

Two weeks ago, I gave Lundy and R White for Driver in a league where I really needed a WR2.

Just traded Mike Bell, Lundy, Morency, Roddy White and 1st in 07 for Torry Holt and 7th in 07. 16 team league, 5 keepers, no pt/rec

All three RBs were going to be reserves for me and based on my current squad there is a very good chance my 1st is going to be at the end of the 1st.....my starters are Eli, LJ, SA, Willie Parker, Holt and Wayne.

I actually felt like I gave up too much especially since we can start three RBs with flex but all my leaguemates feel exactly opposite.

Any others? An owner in one league basically told me that Norwood is untouchable and I was wondering what trade he might be involved in.

Did you provide the guy any lube? They should go ahead and give you the trophy with that roster. Good grief.

Norwood was traded for Matt Jones in one league i'm in...a steal for the guy getting Jones IMO.

The problem with this type of discussion is it depends on a great many things. (i.e. too many variables):

1) Dynasty, Keeper (if so how many?) or Redraft.

In a redraft, I don't think they command anywhere near the trading power as in a Dynasty league. In a keeper league, only if there are plenty of slots.

2) How many teams and what are the rosters like?

For example, in a dynasty league a Warrick Dunn owner would likely value Norwood fairly high - but not necessarily if he had Chester Taylor, Lamont Jordan and DeShaun Foster. It would also depend on how weak he was at other positions.

3) Scoring system. In some leagues RBs are the end-all be-all in terms of point production. In PPR leagues or start 3 WR leagues, the values of players relative to each other is different.

4) Some of it depends on your leaguemates. Some people overvalue youth, others proven guys.

5) A little depends on how much the "tradee" sees the "trader" as a direct threat.

ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (or close to it) I will always trade with a team outside my division rather than in it. That way if I "accidentally" help someone, it won't hurt me nearly as much. As an example, I just traded Fred Taylor for a 3rd round rookie pick in a dynasty league. (I have D. Foster, Jamal Lewis, C.Taylor and W.Dunn - we can only keep 4) I had similar offers from two teams - one was a pick later, but was a team outside my division - took that one. After Jones went down, I'm happy about it.

In general, I find it tough to talk about expected trade values across leagues, as there are simply too many variables that go into a FF trade to even begin to account for them (only some of which are mentioned above).

I was offered S Moss, B Johnson and A Green for C Wilson, L Maroney, and C Simms in a keep 12 start 2 QB league.

I think I may have to decline.
