TRUMP TO INFINITY AND BEYOND HQ - The Great and Positive Place (7 Viewers)

:o Oh, my. (Video clip at link)

"George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant where they combined them. So they're in a bowling alley slash Chinese restaurant."

-- Trump

100 percent true story

Well, yes but to say that is terribly misleading. None of these documents were marked top secret, these were items that were temporarily stored and were to be sorted before being sent to Bush presidential library.
Question - When documents marked top secret are declassified, do those markings magically just disappear? How does that work?
I can answer this. They are marked "DECLASSIFIED" very clearly so there is no confusion.
Every document that has received Presidential declassification is marked declassified? You can prove this as fact?
They're supposed to be. If not, how is anyone supposed to know they're declassified? Presidents change you know. So, if Clinton declassified something and then they didn't update the marking, when Bush came in they'd be considering that document still classified without knowing that it had been declassified.

ETA: I've personally declassified several hundred documents and data transfers in my career. I'm not president but every time I declassified a document you can be damn well certain it was remarked as DECLASSIFIED. For data transfers, you can't mark it, but it was logged and tracked... What was declassified, why, where it was sent, when, etc.

I'm not familiar with this double secret probation declassification Trump claims he used, but it sounds like half malarkey and half fooey to me. But what do I know after 2 decades of doing this stuff?

Trump screws up either by negligence or on purpose. Leaves his supporters to twist themselves up covering for him.
Biden is cognitively incapacitated and is talking about nuclear war yet you do the same thing. Weird how that works.
Deflect.

But yeah, Biden and team have handled Ukraine well IMO though.
Yeah terrific job. 100 billon on a proxy war bringing us to the edge of WWIII while the working class suffers 👍🏻. It’s been 7 years of non stop investigations. You’ll get Trump eventually.
What would you have done? Appeae Russia let them march through Ukraine?
Maybe demand the immediate negotiation of a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine?
And when Putin says No?
Biden is reckless. He previously admitted his goal is regime change. Now he invokes Armageddon? Did Trump ever say something so nutty? He also falsely says Putin talked about potential use of tactical nuclear weapons or biological and chemical weapons. Putin actually has never mentioned either.
Not sure how we got here but this is tongue in cheek, right?

Putin has repeatedly threatened to use nukes in his unprovoked attacks on Ukraine.

He mentions nuclear weapons in that video only with regards to Western threats of using them.

He invaded a country, his soldiers slaughter citizens, he then claims part of the country is now annexed even as he is getting his *** kicked, the country fights back, takes back their territory, then Putin claims that this means he can use any weapon he has available. NATO and Ukraine are not the issue here.

Outside of asking Putin nicely not to invade a county what else do you think we should be doing that we aren’t or doing that we shouldn’t?

"George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant where they combined them. So they're in a bowling alley slash Chinese restaurant."

-- Trump

The National Archives debunks Trump's lies about Bush 41 documents:

"Reports that indicate or imply that those Presidential records were in the possession of the former presidents or their representatives … or that the records were housed in substandard conditions, are false."

irst, the president will consult all departments and agencies that have an interest in a classified document. Those departments or agencies then provide their assessment as to whether the document should stay classified for national security reasons. If there is a dispute among the agencies, they debate, but the president ultimately makes the decision on declassification,
Trump never did this once.

I was reminiscing about the good old days - it helps me get through these dark and desperate times and thought about that time in 2020 when Trump waded through scores of violent insurrectionists with only a Bible as protection.

He was able to stand in font of a church that had been desecrated by the lawless mobs to give us comfort and hope. That moment was so inspiring.

Here is what the CNN fact checker found if you want the specifics:

Fact check: National Archives debunks Trump’s false claim about Bush documents

[...]

Facts First: All of these Trump claims are false. George H.W. Bush did not take millions of documents to a former bowling alley and Chinese restaurant. Rather, the National Archives and Records Administration took Bush’s presidential documents to this facility prior to the opening of the Bush presidential library in the same city. Trump’s claims about Clinton and George W. Bush are inaccurate in precisely the same way: NARA, not the former presidents themselves, put the documents in temporary storage at NARA-managed facilities at the former car dealership in Arkansas and the warehouse in Texas. And Trump was also wrong that there was “no security” at the facility where the elder Bush’s documents were housed: the facility was heavily secured, according to a news report at the time.

So there is no equivalence between Trump’s handling of presidential documents and those of his predecessors. In the others’ cases, the presidential documents were in NARA’s possession and stored securely and professionally. In Trump’s case, the presidential documents found in haphazard amateur storage at Mar-a-Lago were in Trump’s own possession, despite numerous attempts by both NARA and the Justice Department to get them back.

NARA sent CNN a statement on Tuesday, after the initial publication of this article, confirming that Trump’s claims are false.

The statement said that NARA had possession of Bush, Bush, Clinton, Obama and Ronald Reagan presidential records after those presidents left office and that NARA moved the records to temporary facilities NARA leased near the locations of their future presidential libraries. The statement continued: “All such temporary facilities met strict archival and security standards, and have been managed and staffed exclusively by NARA employees. Reports that indicate or imply that those Presidential records were in the possession of the former Presidents or their representatives, after they left office, or that the records were housed in substandard conditions, are false and misleading.”

Yes, indeed, Daniel Dale, was, as usual fair and accurate in his fact checking.

I have posted several times in the Biden thread where Dale fact checked statements by Biden and/or the WH that he found to be inaccurate or false.

I remember the "fact checkers" going out of their way to "fact check" Donald Trump and assign him multiple "falsies" based on the fact that he said his wife was the most attractive first lady ever. Oh boy, they went out of their way to put ole Donny in place on that but a funny thing happened when Biden got into office...they pretty much completely stopped "fact checking" and just started saying "oh, that's just how Joes is..he 'gaffes' a little here..he embellishes a little there." Certainly nothing as "serious" has ever come out of Joe's mouth that needs fact checked as when Donald Trump DARED say his model wife was the most lovely he's seen.

I never joke about Patriot Trump.
Ahh ok…because that read like comedy/fiction. Probably better to just take credit for being funny.
Pro Tip: You should buy some Donald Trump branded ties. When I wear them to work I feel like King Arthur brandishing Excalibur.
Goes nicely with one of those flowers that squirts water and big red shoes!
Do you work with Sho?
I work with anyone having a little fun at the expense of the treasonous ex-Prez (who has a very unique fashion sense)

This seems like some sort of antisemitic threat.

'Before it is too late:' Trump attacks Jewish Americans in post and draws swift criticism

WASHINGTON – Donald Trump attacked Jewish Americans on Sunday for not giving him enough political contributions and again suggested, falsely, that they have dual loyalties to the United States and Israel.

Jewish Americans need to "get their act together" and appreciate what they have in Israel "before it is too late," Trump said in a social media post, unexplained comments that many took as a threat against political opponents. [...]

It's pretty simple. Democrats are willing to strengthen Iran. A stronger Iran is worse for Israel. There is no threat here. Unless the threat is don't let the Dems strengthen Iran or you'll be sorry.

Okay, I have a question:

When Donald Trump Jr. stayed at the Trump-owned hotel in Washington in 2017, the Secret Service was billed $1,185 a night, nearly six times the allowed per diem rate of $201 per night, according to the records released Monday. And when the then-president stayed at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, the Secret Service detail was charged nightly rates that were “nearly double” the per diem rate, the records showed.

Per the bolded, why were the expenses greenlighted when they were knowingly 6 times the ALLOWED per diem rate? Something doesn't add up here. Either it's allowed or it isn't. If the rules are clear, who authorized the exception to the rules in this case? Shouldn't the head of the Secret Service be answering to this? Don't get me wrong, I want to blame Trump for this but shouldn't there be a system of checks and balances to prevent this from happening?

Guess I should have read further. :bag:

The panel argued the records that it has unearthed contradicted previous claims by Eric Trump that federal employees traveling with Donald Trump — such as Secret Service agents — would stay “for free” or “at cost.” The Secret Service is given the authority to exceed government rates because of its protective missions, but its employees are required to document the request by filling out a “variance request,” many of which the House panel obtained during its inquiry.

2. the Oversight panel’s chair, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.)

The Secret Service was charged in excess of the government-allowed rate when Eric Trump, the former president’s son and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, stayed in Washington, D.C. at the Trump-owned hotel with his wife Lara Trump, the House panel said. Citing new documents from the Secret Service, the Oversight Committee disclosed five stays at about three times the allowed rate.

Hunter Biden is apparently spending his father's presidency living in luxury in Malibu -- and so is his taxpayer-funded security detail. The Secret Service detail protecting the president's controversial son has been paying more than $30,000 a month to rent out a swanky Malibu, California, mansion for nearly a year, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

If you can't see the frivolous, hypocritical political motivations of these "hearings" and "investigations" then you are a useful idiot.

Is Joe Biden or any entity affiliated with Joe Biden profiting from Hunter Biden's security detail? If not, it would mark a significant difference in stories, no? You're missing the key point - self dealing. Right?
